insanely helpful video dude, thank you so much for explaining everything so thoroughly, especially the electrical parts, as this is the most intimidating part for me. You've made me feel like 75% more confident in my ability to hardwire my dash cam now, so seriously thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I just purchased a Redtiger F7NT dashcam and will be installing it in my 2023 Forester, so this is most helpful. Mine also has a rearview cam, so I will need to figure out where to run the wire for that. Hopefully there is another video that shows this, but I think the main issue there will be proper routing around the side airbag. Did you need to disconnect the battery when you did your installation? Thanks again!
That's interesting. I did contact Subaru and they said its fine. My manual does not say anything about dash cameras in any search field. Could you please advise me on which manual, maybe you have a link? [I know they warn about putting things low down on the windscreen as the airbag might blast it off the glass, but i didnt see anything about the mirror area]
no issues, the eyesight manual says that they don't want anything to block the air vents of the camera and also nothing that will reflect onto the glass. The dashcam i used does not have shiny surfaces, its mat black. Eyesight working same as it did prior to install.

Hi just a quick question my hard wire kit has a yellow wire for battery . Can i bypass that one? Helpful video thanks
The manual for my 2023 Forester says not to install anything such as a dashcam in that area as it can interfere with the eyesight system.

@ecologicaltime, it is on page 13 of the EyeSight manual. There is a diagram that shows the areas not to install any accessories.
@@ecologicaltime Hi! In relation to the above, did you have any issues with the eyesight operation after installation?
