Gracias for this wonderful video! A good friend just moved to this area from USA and has fallen in love with Mexico. The warmth of Mexico is well reflected in this video.
I LOVE that you’re letting us hear the ambient street noises!! All YTers seem to have the same theme to their videos. They all put annoying music while walking. I want to hear the streets! ❤️
Looks like my kind of place to retire to in a few more years !!! So peaceful and laid back slow kind of living !!!! Looks and feel like time has stood still which is what most retired people want in there golden years !!!
Love to to see the square, made a great friend that owned a store/ market, is is long dead but who knows his kids maybe there, across from the Bank which may be gone too. How did they clean lake Chapala up, it was in bad shape when my brother & I basically camped in the next town. Back then we would not eat the fish, the river brought in waste from a chicken processing plant. I really looks nice now, I can't believe the change in 20 years. Thanks Sid.
Que bueno! Sid. Reminds me of the walk my dad & I took in Ajijic during his visit to Chapala last summer. Me gustó el mural del mariachi. Keep up the good work. Aloha *:-)
I just subscribed. Thanks for the video! Where are you from (in the states)? You have a southern accent! I'm from GA and hoping to retire in Mexico. I'm a single, 62 y/o female (with a small dachshund "companion"), so I want to move somewhere safe where there are groups of people my age. I would probably rent a small studio apartment first...and maybe buy later. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks, Sid.
Great! I just hope Ajijic does not become another Santa Fe, NM; it became expensive and local people could not longer live there. Thank you for your information. USA life is becoming too complex. Greetings from New Mexico.
Great Video Sid. We are going there mid May for a couple of weeks to check out the place. We think of retiring there. Can you please lead us to where to find retirees and get some advices... Thanks in advance. Tomas and Madeleine.
Buen video, gracias.
Hola Johnlennon 7228 Exelente Tu Punto De Vista De Acuerdo Contigo , El Respeto Ajeno Es La Paz . En Un Lugar Hermoso Lo Conosco Solo por Videos . Saludos.
Thank Sid so much for the video. Beautiful and helpful. Is there any rolling hills near by or the city is just flat? Also I noticed the road condition is really bad and not copperstone. Is that the style or it needs to be fixed.
Never been there but it looks beautiful, I'm looking for a place to retired now and need a lot of help understanding cost to live there. Want to rent first and see how that goes first. Live in San Diego now and want to know how long does it take if I were to drive there, not sure. Great video keep on giving us ideas and soon enough I will take the plunge!
Hello. My dad takes a yearly drive down there. He has told me it takes him 30 hours driving from Los Angeles to there. He drives through Arizona not Baja California. Ajijic aside from a very clean and beautiful place it is very English speaking friendly. Spanish isn't even that necessary there believe it or not. There are many Canadians living there. I'm saying out of personal experience, it is a nice little town. I went every year for 19 years of my life. My aunt lives in the next town down. I'd live there if I wouldn't love my home now:)
I see alot of cars. Wondering if it rains alot cause I see alot of clouds and would like to just use a scooter, if I moved there. Alot of boutiques no Wal-Mart's?
I've been looking into Namaste Lake Chapala but its way too expensive for me. I'm trying to find out how to find a contact that can tell me about apartments and such. I'd love any help you can give me. Thanks, Sybil
Hi... did you say : it was a sign of art at 4:35? Please check your video. You may want to change that... It was 'Cocinart'... That could be translated into: the art of cooking... As you will see if you pause the video there is a list of what is on the menu underneath. P.S. How about breathing... I can not see how you can walk around without a mask. This place is loaded with cars. It reminds me of Antigua, Guatemala. It smells like burned tires, carbon monoxide everywhere. What is your take on that? Thank you!
I wondered that myself--about the cars. There seems to be quite a few of them for such a tiny town. Yet at the same time, it's near a lake that appears to be surrounded by mountains (at least, in the distance). So, yeah. What's the air quality like?
K I it is illegal for non MX citizens to work in MX without a permit which is almost impossible to get, if you could wages would be very very low by US standards say $5.00 per day or so
love the video it could have been longer if you ask me LOL just start watching you and Jerry Brown and I guess I believed the stereotype about Mexico but I'm changing my mind about that! so what areas is it where the cartel runs because that's the horror stories you hear in Mexico! that the cartel runs Mexico and they are ruthless especially when it comes to Americans not where you're at I'm saying in whatever part of Mexico you're not supposed to go to where is that exactly?
whenever you go to Mexico, just be respectful with the community and have common sense. there are more chances to get a stray bullet in a church, school or concert in USA than in a crossfire of cartels in Mx( like you see in foxnews). if you aren't involved in the drug trade, there is a enormous chance that won't see anything at all(killings, etc). I have never seen shootings or weird things in my entire life down here in Guadalajara. just to compare GDL to Houston.(GDL is way safer, and it is two times more populated than Houston). www.numbeo.com/crime/compare_cities.jsp?country1=United+States&country2=Mexico&city1=Houston%2C+TX&city2=Guadalajara&tracking=getDispatchComparison
EkBalam707 your not a nice person its so ugly when people just like checking videos to just make rude and ugly desrespectful coments..this is the people and tourist you want to give all your respect for loving Mexico .
Gracias for this wonderful video! A good friend just moved to this area from USA and has fallen in love with Mexico. The warmth of Mexico is well reflected in this video.
Ha ha; I like the dogs in the street taking a nap. Very nice video and very nice colorful town.

Exactly! At 62, I long for the good ole days! I'm looking into retiring there....IF...they don't have 5G internet everywhere.
Lovely video, thanks for your input and advice. Lovely place, I must visit soon.
Very good video, Sid. Interesting and insightful commentary. Thank you, sir.

Paulo eSpang! I want to escape America. got any single friends. I'm in my 50s, blonde with blue eyes 😆
I have watched other videos about lake Chapala. It looks like heaven 🤣
I like older women .problem with younger than you?
Careful Paulo. Glittermama sounds like the typical American female trying to screw her way into Mexico.
Thanks Sid. We are thinking about spending a couple of months here and this video really gives a flavour of what we can expect.
Que bueno! Sid. Reminds me of the walk my dad & I took in Ajijic during his visit to Chapala last summer. Me gustó el mural del mariachi. Keep up the good work. Aloha *:-)

Beautiful town
Very enjoyable.. DAN COOK
Looks great. No wonder so many westerners are moving OS for retirement. I'm tempted to do the same in say Vietnam which is in my neck of the woods.

La Estancia good hotel 👍. The dogs of Ajijic 👍
What a change in 6 years!
It looks lie nice and quiet town
Hey Sid. Nice Video.
I have a question. How come I never see anyone swimming or boating on the lake in any of the videos of the area?
I guess retirees are not interested and it is not a tourist area.Lol !
I heard a guy in another video say that the lake has a real muddy, mucky bottom and that only a few locals swim in it.
I believe we are friends on Facebook. I really appreciate seeing my home town. I need your help/advice. Thanks. Colleen
I heard Maria Isabel is a really good restaurant!
Hi. You still live there. Were you helping sell homes in Ajijic?
I see alot of cars. Wondering if it rains alot cause I see alot of clouds and would like to just use a scooter, if I moved there. Alot of boutiques no Wal-Mart's?
there is a walmart in ajijic, but not near the center, it only rains in summer from mid-June to mid-end of September, only July is more rainy
Another video said that they have a super Walmart near Lake Chapala.
I've been looking into Namaste Lake Chapala but its way too expensive for me. I'm trying to find out how to find a contact that can tell me about apartments and such. I'd love any help you can give me. Thanks, Sybil

As you should know, cooking can be an art. Nothing like a negative post.
Jimbo San Was not a negative comment....

los perros son libres en mexico,,no leash!
Love the color, USA colors are so boring
is it a welcoming place for gay men ?
Been there twice and was not impressed.
They aren't there to "impress" the foreigners, so stay where you are.
Probably should learn to speak Spanish if you are going to live in Mexico. Its NOT "MY Mexico," it is "Mi Mexico."
Hugo Hamblin-Agosto maybe you should learn Nahuatl if you consider yourself Mexican
HAHAHAHAHA. Because all the other Native groups didn't have their own language. Educate yourself joven.
Hahahahahaha. Okay. pinche naco.
Puerto Vallarta seems better than this
Speak Spanish or go back to Disney World!
+EkBalam707 oye tranquilo vieejo
the funny part is, this idiot says it in English.
EkBalam707 que comentario tan infantil 😂 cualquier persona no importa de dónde viene o que raza, puede venir a México, todos están Bienvenidos!
Its nice that we are spending the money there instead of Disney world
