And yet, the atmosphere of this supposedly ferocious battle is ruined by the sounds of Belphegor taking a dump to cast a spell, every time he wants to attack
I think it had to do with D.C. Douglas voicing Odin in SMT IV:A. It also helped that there was no obnoxious filter / synthesizer for his voice, so D.C. Douglas could flex his voice performance into the character and not make them sound so weird. Another thing is to show the characters tremendous power. When you meet him where they held Flynn captive, he shows that he was toying with the main cast and could have wiped the floor much sooner, but he let the battle drag on. Once he decided that it was over, he basically one shots the entire crew by using Will of Thunder, Concentrate, Thunder Reign. Showing off his power. I’m still glad they kept his new design though. I never really dug the purple skinned cloaked Odin.
@@theomnigamer9177 I still remember pretty well how that scene was. After he finished his line and cast Will of thunder, concentrate I was like: "shit something is coming" It was really good in putting clear to the player that you are far from the divine powers now
Just heard that Odin dub VA in this game is the same as Flynn. No wonder why while the voice is different he kinda have the same accent/tick/tone as in Apocalypse. He probably tried to mimic Wesker Odin, since he was working in that game too after all.
Love this boss theme, though I wish it had another part to it. Ending it on a reprise of the leitmotif of the main battle theme makes me wish it went on longer.

Odin is an offender with that, however I’m surprised how well Zeus’ voice comes out with FX added. It sounds like there could be a person under there. I think SMT V was a step back from SMT IV / SMT IV:A Voice Acting. But that doesn’t stop SMT V from being a very fun and great game.
This Odin design comes from SMT IV: Apocalypse. Masayuki Doi had to do a lot of clean up from the guest artists with some demon designs looking… “weird” in SMT IV, but since Odin was going to be recurring demon/ character, why not give him an upgrade? Satan also got the biggest design upgrade of all demons in SMT history in SMT IV: Apocalypse, from being a gross and horrible design in the previous games, to incredible and powerful stature. Look up his design, it is such an upgrade and I really want to see it in 3D.
The damage scaling has changed from 4 to 5, due to changes of vitality It doesn’t help that Odin’s Signature attack has Pierce and on Hardmode? Looking at least the order of 600+ damage (more on Crit) due to his habits
Man, I hope SMT and Persona never goes back to the old Odin design. This one is so awesome, and the old is so meh. We already have good modern designs for Odin, Thor and Loki, the Norns have always been good. Now we just need a new Surt, and the Norse Pantheon will be completely cool.

I'm not currently watching any boss fights I haven't gotten to myself, so I'll just leave a like and come back here after the fact So I just finished fighting all four of them aand Khonsu was the easiest and Zeus the hardest and that's probably because I went against him(Zeus) at around lvl 63
It's an confusing platformer place at first but easy to navigate if you redo it. The entrance is where the Macabre NPC is and you have to navigate by jumping blocks and walking those spiritual invisible staircases till you reach the top. This is around south east of the map in his area, if you work your way towards there you will eventually reach the top. After that you have to jump some blocks floating in the sky that act like a staircase till you reach him.

@@MrRed424 The idea is that they were once gods but the creator God took the knowledge away from the other gods in order to achieve ultimate power, this demoted the other Gods to mere demons. He stored this knowledge in the Garden of Eden, and when humans ate from the tree they absorbed that knowledge. So, for example: Odin was once a god but had his knowledge taken and is now a demon. However, he is trying to reclaim that knowledge by finding the human that contains his knowledge.
"demon" here is used as a catch-all term for every single mythological being under the sun, as a nod to how deities were deposed by YHVH and bastardized (see also: Baal/Beelzebub)

From cloth underwear to totally badass golden armor, Odin sure looks good in SMT5.
As awesome as Keith Silverstein is, it's too bad DC Douglas didn't come back as the voice of Odin. He was such a perfect fit.

I’m glad to see that his Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse design stayed instead of his Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne, Persona 3/4/5 design.
