i give it 9/11, not enough father-son story.
Still made me cry.
I'll give the quest 9/10 Overall.
8/10 for the anticlimactic fight with Ballas
But overall the story and ost was really gud
Why was that bad? It was his arrogance, that led to his downfall. He was so sure that even with the Tenno, the Warframe could do nothing. It makes sense, that he'd get taken out so easily
It may have been his arrogance or whatever but they could put at least a boss fight... Instead he just gets stabbed in the belly and drops dead.
Yup thats what killed it for me
O chances are he'll come back somehow probably enhanced with sentinel tech, why else would the lotus take him with her?
8.1/10 sacrifice I was expecting more
NOVA LEY why is the .1 there tho
I thought it was too short. It felt rushed and the ending slapped on. The ending was correct and expected. I loved the whole story but it did feel like they cut a part or two out to make it ship inna reasonable time.
8/10.
I am just wondering now what they held back to reveal at TennoCon. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
is sacrifice of Father's Day thing
An extra candidate of best dad of the year is excalibur umbra.
Zhengkang Vijaya but he killed his son lol
Prasun Kumar hs is better than space dad ballas...
Zhengkang Vijaya yea his right next to god
Great quest and videos as always.
Speculation: What if the string part of Take Away Its Pain was the song that Isaah’s father used to play on the twazwin?
thats exactly why they used a string instrument for the musical score. You are 100% correct.
Yep that’s cause that’s what the song is XD
Shawzin
The War Within was always my favourite
Yeah and...
FIRST
i'm glad not everyone is a second dream zombie
imo it was good but too short
we needed more
this didnt really wrap up a trilogy at all
it just left more questions unanswered
also i really hope we dont have to wait so long again for a story quest....one of warframe's greatest feature to me is its story telling
I loved everything it, I love that it answered so many questions, at same time added more to be answered in the future, I love the idea that my frame well fight next to me, I can't wait to get my Ash umbra, DE you are the best
Sacrifice 2 coming soon 2019
NOVA LEY soon TM
Sacrifice 2: Real Life Consequences
I gotta say I liked how we went back through old tile sets. As a guy that tends to go to the same five places it was a nice walk down memory lane.
Personally, I would have liked a bit more of a battle with Ballas rather than just freeze, poke, drop. However that being said even though it told us stuff we already knew about the warframes, it told us *how* the Tenno could tame them, take control of them by *healing them* whereas the Orokin would just try to force them into submission to no effect
Quest ending on a cliffhanger is what ruined it for me. Unless the big reveal at TennoCon is the continuation of the story playable right as the reveal happens, it's gonna take them like one and a half years at best to complete, and all of that time all we will have is the fake Lotus and a lack-of-an-ending quest with no resolution whatsoever.
By far my favourite warframe quest probably because I wasnt expecting much at all. The ending gave it the plot twist it needed
9/10 for me the sacrifice lived up to the hype and is the greatest cinematic quest to date. This was the first time I felt like I was my operator. It was the first time I truly connected to Warframe. Umbra felt real and his endless wrath made sense. I cried he killed his son. Umbra is know so important to me that I refuse to change his colors and he never leaves the ship without his katana. He is perfect as he. And that time when the operator finally connected to Umbra it was definitely the greatest moment of the cinematic quest. That time I felt like I was one with Umbra. Lol I was even talking out loud him in real life (Loudly very very). Umbra is my favorite frame now, and I am not a big fan of exacal. This quest was perfectly excited, and perfectly passed and it connected with every single Warframe player. Therefore hands down best quest in warframe.
The second dream is still number one, but this quest is very, very close to it. Perfect for fathers day. My oldest son and I played it, and it touched us personally as we talked about my father, and my grand fathers. I miss them all. I love them all. And so dose he. A love you moment for sure.
my favorite quest
The Sacrifice is my favorite
9/10 for The Sacrifice! Amazing quest.
This surpassed every other quest in Warframe. But I just wanted to know more about Umbra's past life that's the only small complaint I have. Everything else is perfect and I cried ;-;
9/10
One of the best quest, right up there with Second Dream
for this to be on hold for 3 years I expected WAY more from the sacrifice
9/10
the quest itself is well structured, I would have expected something more. I'm sure the next quest will be more appealing
Notification Squad~!
I feel like the quest itself was far more about Umbra than about the player and the story as a whole, which would be fine and dandy if it wasn't supposedly the end of the first cinematic trilogy.
Personally I think this should've been split into two quests, one for giving us the backstory, the vitruvian codex, explaining why the sentients went to war with the orokin, why Ballas defected, and introducing Umbra as a means to flesh out Ballas as an antagonist and explaining what warframes themselves are and how they're made, ending with us getting Umbra.
And then a second quest where, with Umbra, we track down Ballas and face off against him (in a proper boss fight this time), both for our sake as players and as revenge for what he did to Umbra (or warframes as a whole for that matter) and then get the whole Natah "IM COMING HOME" moment to tie us over to the next part of the story which would possibly take place in Tau.
I just feel like the sacrifice was 90% backstory for Umbra, unrelated to US, the player, and then it just rushed into a fight with Ballas and a cliffhanger, it wasn't satisfactory as an ending to this trilogy...
Honestly, I have to agree, The Sacrifice is the best cinematic quest in my opinion. It was just a really beautiful and amazing quest. Although the music as always was the best part, but the quest did have a few flaws here and there. I would score it a 8.7/10.
4:55 just notice that while the cutscene is running, the sentinel's Shield Charger was locked on to Umbra and the Operator and re-focus to just Umbra when the Operator re-enter Umbra, as if the cutscene actually control and use the programming code for Transference instead of creating a copy actor of the cast for the cutscene (if that makes any sense, just saying that DE didn't shortcut it by hiding in-game character and putting out dummies to do the shortcut scene).
I love this music
I also give it a 5/5
Ballas's legs are slick.
For me its the best lorewise since it answers a lot of lore that has been either mysterious or only has been answered with theories so far and i feel the filler quests biggest mistake was the tileset/location choices, it'd be a bit more immersive if the fillers were to be in around earth and lua only
8/10
I give the quest an 8.7 and agree with many of your points, if they shorten the filler quests i think it would make the impact of the father timeline and ending more powerful. I really liked the story and was really touched at how Umbra came to be, my new favorite Warframe.
BTW The video is great 👍
7/10 they said it would be the end to the main cinematic quests. Always trust DE to change their opinion. I really enjoyed the cliffhanger that I thought was going to be the bit to get back Lotus
Glitch Core I'm pretty sure they said it was the end of this cinematic quest TRILOGY. They have to leave it on a cliff hanger for the next season of quests
I liked the quest but in my opinion it should have been longer because it was a finale. So it should've had a big spectacle at the ending. Because this quest should only tease a little because its a final chapter of a trilogy... Anyway, would've hoped that excalibur Umbra would've had some kind of different ultimate ability maybe like Exalted Dual Umbra Blades
9.5/10
Your comment is so deep
I would give this quest a 8.5/10. It took the path which I was expecting with ballas and the sentients but it also subverted it with explaining not just what a warframe is but who they (or more specifically umbra) were before becoming what they are. The voice acting was superb as usual and the cinematicS were great. The only main problems I had with the quest were A: Not having the satisfaction of killing Ballas and returning home with the lotus in our arms or something poetic like that; but I feel that that problem will be resolved in due time. B: A few things weren't answered in this quest such as where has umbra been all this time? Why slaughter the multiple tile sets looking for Ballas without explaining why look at these specific locations for him if they have some correlation? Had the lotus been lying to us the entire time? Is Margulas' memories still inside of that helmet in our ship? Was the lotus specifically created by Hunhow to get us to slaughter the Orokin Empire? How did the Lotus control / convince us to kill the orokin? So many questions... I thought this was going to be the quest to answer most of my questions about the past but it honestly created more than it answered.
Also lacklustre final fight so yeah, but great plot twist! Never saw it coming!
The quest did answer where Umbra had been all this time - he had been imprisoned inside the vaulted room on Lua we go to during the quest, only our actions during the Second Dream in pulling the moon out of the Void allowed him to awaken and escape.
"It honestly created more than it answered" Such is life I'm afraid.
Sitchrea Potere that makes sense but like we still had all of those quests after, what was he doing during that period of time?
Things.
I liked this quest even more than Second Dream. Second Dream for me was like: "Whoa! NO WAY! That is so coooool! YES!" the revelation was like opening your eyes for the first time and it felt like this is only just the beginning, like we had just been playing a tutorial for over 2 years.. Sacrifice...right in the feels...and in such a beautiful philosophical way. The music is even better than in Second Dream or at least as good, just different themes. In Second Dream, the warframe supported us, in War Within, we supported the warframe and in the Sacrifice, they saved and healed each other. That climactic moment when you see Umbra underneath the tree suffering, and this music starts playing...reminded me of Witcher 3 when Geralt found Ciri. And that game is the best fantasy RPG I have ever played...and I can definitely put this quest in the same league for how meaningful it was and how much lore it answered and opened up. Turns out the Orokin were even more bigger dicks than we thought. The universe is literally crammed with their failures, including the warframes. And the best part that I liked so much: Orokin had tried everything to make the warframes submit to them and be in control. But the only thing that could do that, was out of their reach: Compassion and empathy, which our operator showed. Orokin had become so corrupted and distanced they could not even see those things anymore. What interests me also is, Ballas mentioned that their people used to believe in dualism...I wonder how Orokin society looked back then.
10/10 for me.
The dev's need to make the tenno face their demons and relive all the pain and suffering they have caused. Have them reach complete break point only then will be good characters in my book at least.
I was expecting more different abilities for umbra instead of 1 different ability that has the same effect but a bit different
Umbra talking in a scene would've been a 10/10
THE INTRO MUSIC AGAIN!!
Story- kickass. I could finally kind of tell what was going on.
Characters- wowie, I did not expect the Fatherhood aspect of the story, loved it.
Gameplay- I did not appreciate getting locked in a small room with 3 sentients after a garbage "use void blast to drain his shields even though he can 1-shot you in operator-mode" boss fight.
7/10, great presentation, too many sentients
Try replay apostasy prologue with Ex Umbra. It adds nothing new to the story but it's kinda fun to see different lore breaking thing.
honestly ? i think the Ballad voice actor guy, and the guy that make the theme song, deserve a raise
Did you know that the relationship a psychotherapist and its patient have is called Transference?
Now we fully get it
The Tenno really soothen the frame's wounds
I think the three quests are different, second dream is a shocking reborn, war within is a rite of passage, and sacrifice is peace in mind. Sacrifice is definitely the most emotional one for me. When Smiles from Juran starts, I started to tear up, every single time, even after re-watching that scene countless times.
9/10
I still have to listen to robot space mom
9/10
To be honest I'm still up in the air if I liked it or not, I definitely thought the end was anti-climatic, of course getting Umbra was nice and I love his passive, but for a Quest that was touted as an end to a trilogy the payoff for me was just not there, there was no closure.
I'm not going to give it a score, but I did find it a great quest. Some of the missions felt a bit filler as you said and could have been done differently. I think that the Second Dream and the War Within is stronger but I think this one does a great job of setting up future quests with the ending. Though after that I wish DE would lets us get a replacement for the Holo Lotus on the coms.
Umbra is a gift to new and vet. Players on every plattform for who couldn't be a founder I still want prime version cause prime is endgame then fashion so thank u DE and patient waiting to see what's next
I agree, this is the best quest from a story telling perspective, especially where the Warframes came from and why.
That said, i liked the War Within better, because it delved into the motivations of the Tenno. Particularly the fact that they were outcasts, that were supposed to be destroyed, except for a shift in fate.
I loved the whole trilogy and can't wait for the next one. 10/10 for the whole thing, Even the ending was perfect
I would give it an 9/10. The story, worldbuilding and music were amazing until the end (This is ignoring the tileset issue that u mentioned). The Ballas fight was VERY underwhelming. The Lotus reveal was surprising but I felt like they didn't follow up on it properly. I don't mind that we didn't get any new systems. As of right now, I feel they need to get all the current systems they have up to snuff before more systems to the mix.
The choice felt deeply emotional, but not impacting enough. But other than that, the quest was awesome. I love the whole story that made me felt more connection and actually more sympathetic to the Warframes. I also felt that what the tenno did to bring down prominent was right after finding out the truth about how the Warframes were created. And that to me is a mission well done.
we always say second dream is the best because it was THE first you were right about that and i would say the sacrifice is the best out of the three story wise (BUT WAR WITHIN THO)
7/10 better than chains of Harrow but less than 2nd dream and war within. War within is my fav warframe cinematic quest
The quest was really nice except for the lackluster fight with Ballas
i think the most dissatisfaction comes from the cliff hanger
To be continued→
i'm one of the rare people that wasn't demanding DE to release excal umbra here, maybe the pressure made DE change the plot of the sacrifice quest, that being said, the story would be 11/10 if you replace excal umbra for stalker
Lets leave the Edgelord for later
For my is a 9/10 the only thing that bother me was the fight with Ballas but everything else was great imo.
Is definitely my favorite quest so far.
Gonna kill the Lotus, when I'll have any opportunity to do so. It was she, who ordered those sentients to shoot us, but Umbra saved us.
Hey I got big question that is bothering me for a while now. What side you to pick darkness or light what is difference would it change ?
That is mere answer to be revealed later.
7/10
I think all the quest are amazing in all warframe is best game
i was hoping that we finally get a clue about the morality choices ... so now i think we have to wait another year -.- .... bit disapointing if you ask me
Mama!!?
I expected more from what time they had, i know they had other projects on but if it can take 3 years to build a 14 hour game from the ground up i think you shouldn't be able to finish it in 40 minutes.
Also Balas was a waste, ok dude that everyone thinks is a ghost that has been building hype, don't screw this up - and you get stabbed.
The whole lotus part where she just zooms away after saying i was kinda anti climactic too.
I did however like the umbra parts and the music, they had a good foundation but didn't build off of it.
8.5/10 the sacrifice is a great quest
I give it a 5/7
The sacrifice maybe wasn't the best quest, but it did have the best music
Given we all know that there's a 10% chance were never seeing balas again I would point out that his stabbing is likely just to make us feel good and brag to all our... Wait, that's fallouts OWB. But seriously, I'm fairly sure he's not dead, but danm did shoving that blade on his pompus ass feel good.
I rank them like this:
TWW> TS = SD
My problems with the sacrifice:
It didnt bring up Teshin at all and coming from TWW for me Teshin has the role of a guide, a teacher and i feel he should've had a role in this.
He whole upgraded ordis part of the quest dint go anywhere. I was excited to see if that was gonna continue, ordis is now upgraded with orokin tech but that lasted for maybe 1 mission and then went back to normal. Hope they explora that with the next lore based upgrade.
Extra points: Hey kiddo dude makes an apearance in the quest.
COH aint really a big main quest so, it was expected
So no one going to talk about the fact that in the Apostasy, Ballas has in sword, but in the Sacrifice, no sign whatsoever of it? Was that even the real Ballas or was this just something overlooked on DE's end?
maybe DE doesn't want to give it to us yet, so they decided to remove it.
I think de should implement more story missions on a more reg basis. instead of trying to wow the audience with big big stuff. do smaller incriments 1x or everyother month.
Personally, I was left frustrated and disappointed. Disappointed because it was left on a cliffhanger with an anti climactic death fir Ballas. Frustrated because of trying to fight umbra without knowing how. I saw very little damage done to him and for some reason only my secondary firering worked. Not to mention all the times he stunlocked me and killed me 1 second after spawning, comming from behind me.
9.2 just filler but you get that motion of loss and betral
10/10 the quest was lit. Like if u agre
In my opinion it's not the best quest but it has the best reward
First
While everyone else is having opinions I'm just here thinking "wHatS UMbrA's NAmE?"
Betrayal* not Beterayal man 😂
Etherious Raiden typo... Lol
Stalker was the only good guy in the game I know it from the first time i knew his story
1/10 BECAUSE THE SPACE MOM
WE KNOW AND LOVE IS GONE ATM
Seriously tho
8.5/10
9/10 would have love to fight ballas, not just stab him and end it there.
It was a solid 7/10 , I feel like anything more that is just fanboying .. : /
I still prefer WW
Bad. Quest is bad umbra is bad. Why De?!...
Why is it bad? Can you explain why its bad, this would be good for improvement if you could make points about the quest being bad.
I am disappointed because they listened to Dk Diamentes. The lore would have been really good but they used his bullshit theories which ruined the quest for me.
I have no idea. I tried to watch his theories before, but I couldn't understand s**t because of his loud voice.
Igor Boratyński And DE listened to him. If the fanbase wasn't waiting for this quest for 2 years, DE would have been fucked. They could have done such a good job...
I expected from DE to at least give us someone to replace FakeLotus.
I don’t bother watching him. What exactly did he theorize?
That Ballas thought Orokin are weak and rotten from inside, and that he created the Sentients to avenge Margulis.
