As a professional stylist for over 50 years, I'm impressed with the neatness of your sections and your explanations, but with regards to any negative comments, please ignore and don't give any credence. Clearly you know what you're doing. Keep it up.

Thank you! It’s hard to have people criticize you when they don’t know what they’re talking about! It’s even harder to see them go out of their way to harass you online, go to other forms of social media and message hateful things, and write fake Google reviews on your business because they don’t like what they see. It’s not all positivity unfortunately, but at least RUclips is my safe haven from the negativity (so far!)

You truly are a magician! A result like this is absolutely incredible considering the canvas you had to work with. Also thanks for normalizing some breakage cause I feel most stylists don’t talk about that! ✨

Her hair came out gorgeous, love these videos! I'm sorry people feel the best way to get their point across is rude or nasty. As someone who just recently went blonde from red box dye, black box dye, and semi/demi purple and blue all in my hair at once, my stylist absolutely let me know what we were going to do to get to the lightest blonde we could without having to chop my hair off. Yes it was over 9 hours, several bleach applications, and some toning that wont hold, I love my hair, I get compliments often and 10000% think you deserve more than $100 an hour. ❤❤❤

If she was my client in my chair I would have used a sulfer based color releaser such as Rusk Elimin8 first before lightening. This helps to decouple the old color molecules and helps you to see the demarcation line between their natural and the old artificial color, especially if it very close in level to their natural. In my experience doing it this way puts less stress on the hair fiber if you decouple first- then remove with lightener. Wonderful work! I love color corrections and personally live for them.

that's such a great tip with the paddle, i'll use it next time, i always found it too clunky to wrap it in foil and then maneuver it so the foil doesn't move, it felt like i was missing a hand :) thank you very much. also, when i used to work in a salon, we used matrix lightmaster and when i started doing hair by myself, i switched to blondme and oh my god the difference, it's so good.

Color correction is expensive for a reason! And you're right, this is the only industry where people think that they can watch a few 5 minute videos and suddenly they're experts in the field. I'm getting close to graduating cosmetology school and even though I've spent a year learning about nothing but hair I will still be learning more everyday I am working. People just refuse to accept that there is THAT MUCH that goes into a service! They have no idea all the things we learn! And color correction is tricky for some hairdressers with years of experience that's why some shy away from it and prefer to only barber or do simpler color services or highlights (which can be tricky too if you have a client who comes in asking for a balayage but shows you a picture of babylighted hair 😂). I just don't get the hate that we receive for doing our jobs, especially when you're allowing people to watch your methods!
You did your consultation with the client and let her know what her REALISTIC expectations could be and that's exactly what you should be doing. You have perfectly neat sections and were willing to take your time and split it into 2 sections to preserve the integrity of her hair. That's wonderful! I just did balayage/weave on someone with box dyed hair and most of it turned beautiful blonde but some pieces turned crazy bright red that had to be toned out. People don't understand that's a color correction! And they also don't seem to have realistic expectations either and get upset when you tell them you won't bleach over henna (bc they assume it's natural so it's OK). It just blows my mind. You're doing a fantastic job and I'm watching your videos and hoping to learn some things 😊
Ignore the negativity because it's all coming from a place of ignorance, as all hate does. Her hair looks gorgeous!

I have been growing my hair out for 2.5 years simply to go platinum. I don’t have any brown hair like this in my hair; but I was used to getting highlights; which now have turned into my hair looking like half level 5, half level dull 7. I would definitely fly across country to go to you. I don’t trust any colorists in my area once my main colorist retired. I have had too many bad experiences.❤ Love your videos!

Just found your channel and love it! Fellow hairstylist, in Calgary, Alberta 🇨🇦
Learning so much and have started the two ⭐️ one wish. This video reminded me of a great saying “I’m a beautician not a magician” which makes so much sense with corrections. Love your attitude towards haters, we need to lift each other up. Thank you for all this amazing and free content 😀
Not sure if you’ve said in another video but what is the tattoo on your right arm (I think) it’s beautiful
    Thanks again

Thank you so much!! Two stars and a wish really helped make me the stylist I am today! The tattoo on my left arm is a peony and the one on the right is the light of rare fill from lord of the rings !

Hi, I recently completed a basic hair coloring and cutting course. I love this video. Can you please say how much toner was used in each shade and also for how long it was processed.
    Thank you.
