Larix is he symbol of harsh, cold climate in the Alps. But this winter is so mild. In this episode I am working on two Larches, different in style and stage of development.
Winter has been unseasonably warm and difficult everywhere this year it seems, I think ours is finally starting today with snow and consistent temp drop. Love your trees and your work, thanks for sharing with us all.
Excellent work as usual. I don't know what David Raver is talking about in his comment, the Jin where you selected the new leader is perfectly visible and as for not being able to see the nebari, that is because it was below the angle of the pot rim. Hardly an instant bonsai! it has obviously been growing for many years before collection and as you stated... this is the start of its bonsai training. Love your work, thank you.
I too hope that the winter will continue much colder....very compliments for your two jobs! The second larch on the tokonoma is fantastic...i admire your great technique and talent!👍👍👍🔥
The jin you made in the beginning of this video can't be seen from the front. What's the point of such a feature? You should cut it off completely. And, more importantly, this tree has no nebari. It's just an instant bonsai.

Fantastic trees! Congratulations! In the North of Italy we're having a warm winter too... Waiting for the cold.
I really like how you work. And how relaxed it all comes across, with the excellent results thanks to the great knowledge and craftsmanship. More ! :D

Great video!!
Tnx!
Do you use copper or aluminum wire?
Thank you- like your teaching style :)
I use aluminium for broadleaves and for initial styling on conifers. Copper for conifers in rather developed stage.
The trees will just have to get used to it. It wil continue to get warmer.
It seems so. Togh times coming ...
