This is awesome to hear! What food do you feed him, like is it commercial dog food or do you make him meals at home? I am really interested in having my own Berner but the short lifespan makes me scared :(

A loving and affectionate creature of the highest order of canine....we were adopted "parents" of a female rescue Berner.....who became our companion for life.....she spent her last five years with us and when she left us, we were heartbroken......and still are.
We await our future reunion......!
We were very fortunate to have a rescued female Berner. She was a marvellous and loving girl and were shared her last five years with every waking moment. We adored her and still miss her cuddles. She gave us so much affection that when she left us, we were devestated !
I have a 7 month old BMD Emma. She has severe hip dysplasia. Enjoy your healthy Berners.
My first dog, Heidi, was lucky enough to live to 10. I miss her every day.

It makes it all the more important to make every day their best and happiest. For a dog, as their owner, you are their entire world. I'm sure that your dog was happy and had you in their mind and heart always.
These dogs have the most beautiful colors and markings.
The dogs in the vid were cute and all, but they also reminded me of my own bernese mountain dog i once had. Her name was molly, she was born in august 1999, just like me, but she passed away when she was 13 years old. Now i'm almost 20 and thinking about her still males me cry.

We´ve had one - a beautiful Berner girl called "Blessie" - for nine years - than she became very sick - now she lives in our hearts - forever. God bless her big Berner-heart and soul.

My friend's Bernese recently passed. She was the sweetest big ball of fluff. Every time I went over there she would be waiting for me and I would give her a belly rub. Dogs don't deserve death.
This great bit monsterous dogs are just so adorable and they want nothing but to love things and the fact that they're rescue dogs just AAAAHHHH! I want one!
We lost ours on April 16th this year he was only 6 years old.
Still feels like yesterday holding him while he drifted away. :( Hopefully he's up there playing with his old buddies.
Phil Mitchell i googled the lifespan of these puppers its interesting how the estimated life span is shorter then some of these smaller breed dogs

My sweet Bernese Mountain dog Teddy died one week ago of cancer. He became 8 and a half years old. I miss him so much. I never met such a good tempered dog as he was, such a good soul. I lost him way too early. This breed brings you so much love and joy, it just hurts so bad to loose them

We called her Jente (dutch) and we loved her, but when she was around 7,5 years she passed away, cancer was all over her body 😔

I remember my friend had a Bernese and every time I went to his house she would make me give her belly rubs.
The puppies are so awesome - these really are amazing dogs AND loyal companions! Just don't appreciate the 'teasing' bits, with the blue kiddies stool. You must respect these dogs, they will give you unconditional love, friendship and loyalty.

The one barking at the mirror reminds me of my bernese that passed at 3 months old on December 20th 2019 🙏 He was tiny as he had 3 hear problems. 2 were fixable, one could be fixed with a surgery but as he was so young it was more likely he would pass during the operation. We decided to put him down and be with him in his final moments rather than him be with strangers and in a strange room. We got another bmd puppy, but he will always be missed 🙏 RIP Axel

Awwwww I just pet sat for some owners of two big Bernese Mountain dogs. They were adorable, but it's hard to raise them. You gotta be tough with em, they just don't know their own strength. They were good and happy and healthy, but the only problem was they had a fenced in yard that's a little too tiny for them. Big dogs like these need like a field to run around in, hence the term mountain dogs.

It's impossible to be depressed with a BMD. Every time I'm depressed, he steals my shoes. Which he has done for 10,000 times and every single time, I laugh! It's like the joke that never gets old.

We have a bernese mix dog (labrador + spaniard + beagle + bernese), he looks like a beagle with longer legs, short coat, markings and colours like a bernese. Such a great dog, loving, obedient, gentle, playful, kind, amazing dog, loves to run and sniff and pull, cuddles with us all the time :-D I hope he will be with us for a very very long time.
