I am happy to have visited with Mr Tom Blakey on two of my visits to the Museum. I recall that he had a picture of himself standing in the street in what I believe to have been France during the war. And in another picture he was standing in the same spot with some family members, I believe in 2005! There is immense value in the WWII Museum in providing a place to meet veterans like Mr Tom Blakey and to be able to thank them for saving our country!! I am pleased to be a Charter Member of the Museum!
The plastic "baby" DOESN'T represent Jesus, this plastic trinket was used by a New Orleans bakery called McKenzie's on a whim in 1990 (no particular reason).

The oldest neighborhood in NO is Algiers. The French camped out there while they built the Vieux Carre across the river. Do some research.
