Was sick for a few days, I myself don’t have one. A friend of mine did a 2DS and it worked fine. I did do a PSP with his tutorial on that and it work fine.
Bought a ds lite, modded it, sold it. Used the money to buy a dsi, modded and sold. Used the money to get a dsi XL, modded and sold and now have a 3ds lol. This is just what I was needing today.

Do you mean finalizing or finalize? Do I copy finalize, gm9, and luma to the 3Ds?

Perfect! Thanks for sharing. I'm actually on Mac for everything except demoing processes for RUclips, emulation, and Plex server use. Everything you see on the channel is edited in Final Cut Pro X. Been on Mac since Feb 2008 when I got one of the old white MacBooks. :)

Thanks so much for this guide! For anyone who already has used mini maker and doesn’t get the welcome to mii maker, you can just skip this step so long as you have used mii maker with the sd card for this tutorial

Also for those wondering and if your 3DS has a broken home button like mine does, during the GM9 stage of installation, press the Power button and that brings up the same GM9 menu without needing to press the HOME button :)

Great, easy to follow and definitely helped with any anxiety I had around messing it up. Did have to do a little troubleshooting, but the batch file explained that clearly, too.
There does seem to be some weird cut at 14:28 when you're dragging the Finalising folder's files over, which could be confusing for some, though.
Thanks! Yes, there's a cut there. I somehow went into the wrong folder the first time I recorded it and had to do a picture-in-picture to try to fix it. Best-laid plane, of mice, you know? 😃

At that point, I just read what the website told me to do, and it was all really simple

@@blainelocklair The only major different was the finalizing. You downloaded a zip, whereas I downloaded 2 files.
What if there’s two finalize downloads?

Great guide. I personally prefer a ntrboot card and magnet. Easy and can avoid reading any Japanese text on Japanese systems. Then do a region mod. I'd recommend doing a region change video Blaine.
Thnks! Yes, the noteboot card is super handy. I have one of the Ace3DS X cards and it works like a champ. Definitely see why you like those kinds of cards as well.

What's funny to me, I just did this earlier this morning, just before your video went live. And I completely missed the letter change at the end for the different firmware, but the jailbreak still worked on mine.
Yeah if it’s an old 3ds they all default to mset9 currently

Why would you ever have to change sd cards? Idk if you’d have to do everything over or if you can just drag/drop the files since it’ll be formatted for your specific 3ds

The batch file for Mac users is the mset9.command
When I do the finalizing thing on godmode9 at the end of the video i go to the home menu and nothing is installed. I did it 3 times now on 2 different pcs and it wont install anything, how could i fix this?

Hi Blaine, thank you for your service in the retro handheld community. I just wanna ask something, would this tutorial also be applicable to my old japanese model 3ds? I wanna jailbreak mine but I heard that it won't be advisable to region unlock it. Well that before the 3ds e-shop went down last year.
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, you can use it with the "Old" model JPN system. Just be sure to select the correct region code at the beginning of the guide when entering your system software version number and the guide will get you the rest of the way there.

Man I love your videos and I tried this one and everything was working great until I got to the finalizing stage and no matter how big my as card was it would always say you don’t have enough room do you think you could help me?

If u want to use a 64Go MicroSD card with adapter, u need to format to FAT32 (need to use 3rd party app on Windows)

There is no finalizing zip, there is two other downloads and they don’t open up for me!
I followed this exactly and the presents have not shown up. What could I have done wrong? Or is it like a just wait and give it time things?
I believe that this process has been updated, at 14:42 there seems to be a discrepancy in the files that are provided since now it is a romfs file instead of a zip that would have you overwrite existing files. Hopefully this is a thing thers have noticed or maybe im just early to comment about it.
Hey did you still manage to get this to work? I'm having an issue where it states "no useable entries found" when navigating to Scripts within gm9. Everything else seems to have worked up until this.

HELP!! At the 7:02 I can’t transfer the Release_v1.2 file onto my micro SD card. Using a Mac
@blainelocklair when you put the finalising folder into the sd card root you put in the stuff from the release_v1.2 folder is that what you are supposed to do?
What if when i open mii maker it doesn’t say welcome?
i followed the steps but i never had any of the gifts on my homescreen at the end when i booted up my 3ds
What do I do if I already have mii data and the "welcome to mii maker" message isn't appearing for me? Do I need to delete all of my mii data first?
