The term "spaz" has been used for decades to describe somebody acting in a stupid way. It originated from the term "spastic" which was used to describe people with cerebral palsy, but we stopped using it for that a long time ago. I remember there was a charity called "the spastic society" which changed their name. Language evolves and changes, if I'm angry at my printer for spazzing out and messing up my document, I am not mocking people with cerebral palsy. Why is everyone so intent on getting offended these days?

To be fair, some people have a hard time following the lyrics on a video where it shows one line at a time. Like for some, especially if they're faster, i have to have the lyrics laid out like this or i have a difficult time following. (Recovering drug addict and my brain is pretty fucking fried so it moves slower than it used to after 15 - 16 years of hard drug use. It probably wouldn't be so bad but I'm only 28. So do the math. It's probably since I started so young but I don't know for sure. Just mentioning that so others are aware of how it can affect you just in case they're tempted to try any or already have. Don't do drugs.) So I'm sure if i have that issue with some songs, others likely do too.

There are 2 meanings of the word "spaz". One is a noun that is used as an ableist slur, and the other is a verb that is used as an AAVE term
In this case (and 99% of cases where the word is used in music, Lizzo included), it was used as the AAVE term, not the ableist slur

As a person with Cerebral Palsy, I honestly had never even heard of the slur. I honestly don’t care for myself but for the people that do, I do understand you. She has changed the lyric so that’s good. Great song regardless!💕
