Got a one a year ago. Absolutely NO CLUE what to do. Found Malo. A year later I honestly still surprise myself with something I didn’t even think I knew how to do. This a real teacher
Hey brother, I’m extremely humble by this message and thank you so much for taking the time and investing in some of my videos it really means a lot. Blessings to you
This is how you give a tutorial, you explain everything that you do in the process, not just do something and having us wonder what it was you did. Salute man🫡
If/when I get somewhere with this music thing, I’ll never forget you bro. You have been the main source of knowledge and inspiration for me when it comes to the mpc world and beats/production in general.
You have no idea how deep this comment hits. This is what drives me to push out more videos. Just sharing and hopefully spark and inspiration in somebody else. Nothing but love and blessings to everything you do brother. 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Oh man, I’m glad you shared the same reaction because that’s the same way I felt when I drop those semitones lol. I appreciate you dropping by brother.
Hey Jacob, I highly appreciate you reaching out and taking the time to watch the video it really means a lot and also your feedback is so valuable. Blessings to you and thank you
Oh man you’re like the third person that mentions this artist I’m definitely gonna check it out in a moment. Thank you so much for dropping the reference.
Hey, I really appreciate you dropping by and taking the time to share this input. I hope this was helpful in your workflow. Much love and blessings to you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for mentioning Vinnie Paz. He isn't mentioned enough. Extremely underrated and one of the best at picking beats. I can hear Vinnie over this beat.
@@malobeats The first thing I thought about when I heard some of your beat videos on here was Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind (Jedi Mind Tricks) lol Definitely got a similar vibe my dude. Salute!
thanks for this video. It was very interesting to see how you manage stereo samples and what tresaure we could find due to these stereo recordings. There's so many to seein your chanel. Take Care.
This is great advice, I found a sample just the other day that I only wanted the left channel from but didn't know how to isolate it, and now I know! Thanks bro.
Hey brother, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing this input. And I’m sure you’re gonna be able to execute that task by splitting those channels. Let me know how it turns out.
Superb video. Like minded. Out here in the UK the Live 2 retro is completely sold out.. you can’t get ‘em right now.. I have the MPC 2000 and Renaissance, just bought the MPC Live 2 for my birthday - was going to get the X but changed my mind. Excellent video.
@@malobeats thanks for birthday wishes. It’s in early July so the live 2 is an early present... surely due to the retro colour way’s popularity they’ll release some more - they’d be crazy not to.. Keep up the good work, speak soon. 💫
Your becoming the mpc man to go to for tips! Your mixing video you did awhile back helped me alot. Keep up the good work, one day you will be paid to do what you love ✌️
Thanks for the video. Yes a great technique I have been using since the 80s with my SP1200, but nowadays we have so many more tools at our disposal. If you haven't checked it out yet, demo RipX and iZotope RX9 Music Rebalance. With both of those programs you can separate breaks into stems (drums, bass, vocals, instruments). Results are still a bit hit and miss, but you can get some amazing results. I used it to strip back some of my favourite breaks and funk tracks and pulled out the entire drum track on it's own. "Take me to Mardi Gras" by Bob James. Imagine having the while drum track stem on it's own. It's mentally good. Anyway, check it out if you haven't already. It takes the Left/right split technique to new levels. Thanks again for the video. Subscribed.
Malo! Your tutorial is dope!!! I'm thinking of switching to a Live 2 from a MPC-1, due to memory but I love my MP-1. I'm still learning and watching your vids, very dope and that Flip you did is dope, I have that record, I don't like exposing samples, my mentors always told me that. Look fwd on watching more of your vids!! 🤙🏼💯
Oh man, I’m sure you’re gonna feel right at home if you do that upgrade, plus the live mk2 does give you a few more features that you would love for storage. I appreciate you taking the time and sharing this input it really means a lot. Much love and blessings to you my brother
I agree 😎. Re the MPC One vs the MpC Live II. I had an MPC One, used it with a power bank, but ended up selling last year. After dabbling with another standalone sequencer, I have recently gone back to the MPC universe with an MPC Live II and it is awesome. The One was good, but the Live II feels a bit different, better in some ways. I like the bigger pads, layout, +/- buttons, speaker and battery. In the first 10 minutes of using it I found something I had never even noticed when using the one. Being able to switch on and go is huge for me. One other thing to note is that assuming you are using an SD card in the MPC One for the additional synths and your samples. You can just put the MPC Live II and carry on.
@@malobeats I upgraded to the Live 2 Retro Ed, this machine is a BEAST!! I put a 1Tb SSD and now, I can do my thing, word! Just like you said on ya vid, only thing that is kinda off, is the button functions. The MP-1 was easier to operate. I just do not understand why, you have to hold shift for everything...why go backwards instead of fwd. That's my only pet peeve... However, I'm glad I invested in this Machine!! Once again, Salute to you and your dope reviews and tutorials, Word Life!
Recently used this method on a beat where I loved a part but there was a pretty heavy string section on top. Luckily the strings were all on one side so I could isolate the melody on the other side. So cool. Also RZA did this method to use the Incarcerated Scarfaces sample, so he could remove the drum section from it.
Hey brother, thank you so much for sharing this and that is awesome to read this comment on how you were able to separate what you did not write by splitting that into mono. There’s been so many times Well that has saved me as well.
hi, does anyone know how to use pitch bend on the MPC? I need to apply pitch bend to a bass note recorded on the sequencer and don't find where this option is.
Damn! Bro you’re a genius! Please do a video about how to sample a song or chop a song, or sampling techniques Im new about all this and every time that I try it’s hard to me.. thanks I love your videos

Malo .. You videos are good , had MPC 2000 back In the day.. Left Akai for a NI Maschine.. got a MPC Live 2 .. Better Sequencer.. Question??? Once you Manually Chop a Sample to pass etc, You Press Convert , using shift button correct? .. hands moved fast …. Anyway… New Drum program using slices Select Type …. I’m lost .. why not Pad Parameter.. wouldn’t that lock all your slices in place? You selected Non Destructive! Do it.. Non Destructive, can alter all your start and end points ? I need to know the fastest way to sample and all the shift commands on the Live 2 because it lack buttons due to the speaker.. Can you make a Shift / Command video soon .. Non Destructive or Pad Parameters after you Manually Chop .. / assign to a new program?
