Well, both the Coyote 5.0 and the Cobra 4.6 are part of the same engine family, so Ideally they would be interchangeable in the cars they are found in. Both engines are DOHC too. The Coyote is just a bit bigger.
It's like the Coyote was meant for the Mark VIII. Fits like a glove and the engine compartment looks stock. Also the Brembo brakes was the icing on the cake. I wish there was more content on this build 🤤.
Lincoln's will always be the nicest luxury car in my opinion.... well as far as it goes domestically... nice car clean looking swap Henry would be proud.
I believe the cams are a little bigger and the bottom end is more stout. But I had never thought of this because everyone already says the 4v is an amazing motor
Back when Ford used to make cool 90’s ‘Muscle Cars’. Mustang, T-Bird, Mark VIII, and Cougar. Wish they still made sleeper looking cars with V8s like they used to
Heh, hes busy guy. I met him for a minute at Carlisle of '05 I believe when he had the terminator swapped base model and I had (emphasis on had) my 98 Cordovan CE.
That air filter setup is wrong. The number one mistake people make with fuel injected systems while retrofitting a different system is having the intake pulling in hot air from the engine compartment. With a carb or tbi system this is ok since you are dealing with wet flow in the runners, sequential fuel injection uses dry flow in the intake runners as the fuel it sprayed right at the intake valve, you want cooler air coming through the intake. There are just a lot of aftermarket air intake systems that are not engineered very well.
Well they dont necessarily make a functional cai for a mark viii with a forward facing throttle body. My short ram intake on my stang made more power than the fender-well cold air.
@@madmod Correct, when you retrofit an engine system it's more than a matter of dropping it in. It requires fabrication in some cases or being resourceful and finding off the shelf OEM parts that will fulfill the function and look like they belong there. The rare supercharged Mark VIII made by the SVT used twin Windstar air boxes and the entire installation looked like it belonged there. Not much r&d goes into those mislabeled cold air intake kits and it shows. With 3D printing and all the other modern tools we have, there is no reason why someone can't design a different air box and still have it work on the helmoltz resonator principal and provide the proper airflow velocity, quieter with more flow. I really don't like intake noise.
@@Davesworld7 This induction system is more than efficient at feeding this combo without excessive intake air temps. No reason to reinvent the wheel for 1-2hp difference that may or may not be there in actual driving conditions. That intake will certainly preform just as good as the mustang it came out of and its in a decent location. I certainly wouldn't worry about intake temps after having personal experience with non intercooled supercharged combos that see as much as 160°iat at the end of a few wot pulls. In my own experience, my short ram runs the same with or without the heat shield. It is a metal 3.5 inch pipe that stays cool to the touch even when street driving. It used to be a fenderwell intake but I cut and shortened it. It measured less intake vacuum wot meaning less restrictive.
What did you do for motor mounts? I'm running a M8 IFS in a 65 mustang and am doing a coyote swap, was wondering what you did to get it to sit. Thanks!
Really a late response but good grief, Lincoln went into the "I don't know who I want to be" phase when they discontinued the mark VIII. Only one sedan left and a buttload of SUVs? Really? I'm a Ford guy but Cadillac is the only domestic manufacturer making a car in the same league as this and now they have a new 32 valve motor, not the Northstar and yes, they make more than one sedan. Lincoln only has the Continental sedan left. With your idea it comes to mind to have a fabulous resto-mod Mark VIII at a show to give Lincoln a hint of the path they left years ago and should not have. It baffles me how they expected a top of the line car to sell as many units as the Thunderbird of the day. Most people do not buy the upscale version since they cannot afford it. This is the division that usually got the good engines and goodies first. I want them back, I rented an SUV recently and it's just not me. Worse yet it was a Mitsubishi with what I now call the suicide headlight switch where one can inadvertently be driving at night with only the daytime driving lights and the dash lit up but pitch black in the rear.
brother fantastic job who new that a coyote will fit in a Mark vlll /L.S.C. you need to send a email or pictures or a video to the Lincoln motor company and show them that. car because you're probably the only Mark vlll in a coyote motor 5.0 the value went up on your car and send a email to ford racing / and ford performance .com / they will be very happy to see your car again fanatic job and good luck that's a Trophy Car / from xl Lincoln motorsports..org 2016#
the mark viii was the first to feature this style of engine it only came with a 32v dohc intech v8.. unlike mustangs which have to be called svt ,cobra , gt, ect. 50,000$ tag to have the features the mark came with,.. other cars of the 90s style like the thunderbird and cougar , were on the road only to test the frame work of the 93 mark . the rear suspension and all , and having the speed limiter removed can see the car run over 160 mph. Lincoln just doesnt want this car to have that exposure .
Yes plus the 5.0 really is about the same size as the 4.6 so it's not a shock it fits in nice. Anyone interested in buys a lincoln mark viii manufacturer jacket? I have one.
yo thanks for the reply/ go to xl Lincoln motor sports.com on RUclips and you see my white Lincoln mark vll L.S.C 5.8 /351w 1988 and my 1988 mercury cougar xr7 306 black and 1992 Lincoln mark vll L.S.C red interior 20" crome wheels 2017# from little shawn south jersey Lincoln for life 😊🚘
Holy crap, sounds like a stock 4.6 with exhaust from the inside. That 5.0 just looks so at-home in the engine bay.
Heh heh almost, I counted 6 cranks, cold start normally 4.
@@vendediesel Really dude? 🤦♂️

This is the cleanest swap I've ever seen looks str8 factory I gotta get one now
A pretty sight seeing a Coyote in a Mark VIII. Good job.
Thats what they should all look like. Owned Mark 8's for almost a decade. Have a 95 and 94, both still on air. What a gorgeous sounding Lincoln.
I have a 95 and a 97.... Hoping to at least get the 97 back on its air suspension.... The 95 is my hotrod, though... It's getting coilovers....
Well lets see if you can break the 182mph record like 4.6 Mark VIII did. The build looks good !!!🏁
One Chevy guy thumbs downed the video, because it's a Ford in a Ford. He was expecting an LS.
Thumbs down because he already had the perfect engine. Dont mess with perfection
@@whocares5188 I agree the 4.6 4v is already great a full bolt ons and you're 300wheel and still have 300k mile reliability
I'm a Chevy guy and I like what he did.

Engine can rev past the tachs max, gotta love it, well done!
I want to marry you just so I can take this from you in the divorce!
AC work?
Same. -.-
When your mechanical skills are of the charts.
Looks and sounds fantastic! Think I remember you from the old LOD days, great job!
My next car will either be a 1998 LSC or a c6 Z06 , those mkiii's are badass , great job it's beautiful.
If i had an option i would deff choose the z06 over this.love my mark tho
That 5.0 is like the exact same size as the 4.6 that came with the car!! Sweat mother of Jesus
I believe the cams are a little bigger and the bottom end is more stout. But I had never thought of this because everyone already says the 4v is an amazing motor
All the mod motors are huge externally haha
Now that's a badass swap!
I want to see this thing in action! :)
Hope this is still running good
Awesome build!
That's a thing of beauty. Thanks. Good clean install.
Looks like it went in pretty smooth.
Coming from a proud mark viii owner I don't know if I like this or not. Mixed feelings
My pappy said "Son you gonna drive me to drinking if you don't stop driving that Hot Rod Lincoln!"
Awesome, that's what I want to do to my 97 T bird, I just need to know a reputable shop to do it right.
Back when Ford used to make cool 90’s ‘Muscle Cars’. Mustang, T-Bird, Mark VIII, and Cougar. Wish they still made sleeper looking cars with V8s like they used to
Lots of people on here asking question but I see no reply!
Wow that looks great!! Stock “K” member ? What did you use for exhaust manifolds ? Thanks for any info. I’m doing a 97 thunderbird coyote swap.
Post videos of it I'm thinking of doing a 97 cougar coyote swap myself
So fresh and so clean clean.
man o man, I can't describe the tingle thru my balls checking out that setup.
Bryan Sullivan i legit said something similar haah
Sweet ride i have a black and black 95 w 11900 miles

Now...if I could only put one in my Mark VII lol
ChizAfterHours make that times two. My Mark 7 LSC needs that motor too !!!!
Coyotes fit fox chassis well
If I could only find my Mark VII that I sold 20 years ago! 🛠️
Thats one badass Hotrod Lincoln thanks to the Coyote swap.
license plate is still registered to the car that’s dope
The manual swap go crazy
New sleeper goals
Hell yeah. That's cool as hell.
How hard would it be to swap the 5 speed into a regular 4.6 MKVIII?
Heh, hes busy guy. I met him for a minute at Carlisle of '05 I believe when he had the terminator swapped base model and I had (emphasis on had) my 98 Cordovan CE.
I wish i had that car. I have a 2016 Lincoln MKS but i engine's that are sideways suck. Oh and i luv 2 door coupes
Hey can you let me now what year coyote motor and transmission you used, also is that the mustang shifter, and did you use the mustang ecu?
stay in touch Josh /from little shawn Lincoln for life !! :-) 2016
I have two words to say, FUCKING BEAUTIFUL
Excellent. Still don't have that CE huh? If mine wasn't already sold I'd sell it to ya, lol.
that’s sweet asf my boy 👦🏽
Any fitment issues? I'm thinking about swapping a 2017 F150 Coyote and 6r80
Swapped motor and transmission and lined up ? Or how did u do of it?
Looks stock other than the stick shift, a lincoln with a stick lol it's even funnier how it always registers that it's in Drive
Very clean install🔥
Man that's nice....
