Thanks for sharing how to elevate an outfit. Comfort and function!
Love that you include bright colors and patterns in your clothes and that they are not all black and/or white. I just found your videos a few days ago so I've been watching while washing dishes or folding laundry. There is always something that makes me smile when watching. 😊
I've also fallen several days behind at my second attempt at 31 baby steps.. Lol...giving myself lots of grace and one day I'll get it right!
You're a natural motivator. I love this video. I hope you'll share your finds with us. Thank you Diane. Blessings....
I love the idea of a uniform, specifically the idea of using what you have. Great video!!
Lov this. It helps me a lot! I have been cleaning homes an offices for my own business since 2005! Now we moved from GA to NC to be near the sea! Our dream come true! So grateful for my husband getting a nice job here and I do not have to work! Enjoying my DS17 last year of high school and getting my feet back to just enjoy life. So I need to start dressing in other than tees, shorts, or short leggings to clean in. I was in retail for years prior to having my son and dressed in suits almost daily. I feel lost after so much time has passed. I did dress up for holidays and church but that was it. Thx for the vid!
I've always had a 'mix and match' wardrobe (loved having school uniforms!) but you've really given me some new ideas. Many thanks Diane.
Very useful video. Thanks Diane. 😊
Very true indeed. I changed my trousers and got some work done... Thanks for the timely video ;-)
Yay! I have been looking forward to a video about dressing to shoes!
Dian,
Thank you for this very informative video. I am a shopaholic, especially when it comes to clothes. Your insight has given my hope that I need to be shopping in my own closet and upcycling what I already have. Thanks again from Bama.
Thx for the "uniform" idea. That would really simplify things for me.
I love your style! Classic, simple and beautiful 🦋
Thank you for all the practical tips. Silly me! I didn't know there was such a thing as a washable jacket!!
This is a wonderful video! So helpful and makes me want to sort through my clothes and downsize my wardrobe. I'm retired now, so I don't need so much. I sure wish I had a figure like yours though 😉Thank you for all you do! 🙋🏼
I enjoy your common sense! Thank you!
You have once again inspired me and given me an idea to deal with the issue of changing clothes size. Inspired by the Flylady routines I have been losing weight which was very hard before I began this process but much more manageable now. As I got larger I kept some of the clothes which is a life saver as I start to reduce in size and do not have to buy a completely new wardrobe. Your idea of a uniform is just the solution to a closet that looks full but really is not that full of options. I am going to implement the uniform idea by size. Your suggestion of filling in the pieces by going to thrift stores is a practical solution. Thanks so much.
I like your style of uniform
Thanks! I hated my uniform in school as well. But now we can add jewelry and color variations and our own style...Yeah!
Thank you Diane! This was a nice video to encourage me today. It cheered me up a lot. I am having a "Blah" day today, I am not sure why......I want to finish successfully doing my nightly routine since I have pretty much mastered dinner clean-up. Now, I am just STRUGGLING with laying out my clothes for the next day because being a SAHM, I think to myself, I can just figure it out after I get up since I am a morning person. But! something tells me that if I just trust you with this system, laying out my clothes will bring me the joy and peace that the other things have . Yesterday, my husband hung up an iron hook in the shape of a white rose that was still in my dresser drawer since our move to this house a year ago. (I had been saving it for somewhere special but had never decided on where..ugg..perfectionism!) Then came the "aha" moment..."I could use it for a clothes-for-the-next-day hook." DH looked at me like I was mad and didn't get it..haha I will have my DD16 help me post a pic of it and upload it to IG for you to see. Just look for the white rose hook from tealover jb Cheers!! P.S. I secretly love blazers, yet own none.
+Julie Yay, I saw the rose on Instagram! Lovely! 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
my 1st instagram post :)
Thanks for the tips Diane. I so need to declutter my wardrobe. You always look lovely. Hopefully with your influence I will too. I just need to find my style. Cheers from Australia. Hugs Olwyn
I can totally relate!
I love your jewelry
Haha. I feel like a slob. It's been 30 to 36 degrees here and is supposed to keep on very hot for at least another ten days. So the uniform is shorts and top or a sundress once in a while. I even find jewelry too hot.
You've inspired me to look forward to Fall when I can up my game a bit. You always look so lovely. Thanks for sharing a simple illustration that it doesn't have to be complicated. The lovely ladies on Instagram have also inspired me by sharing when they put out their outfits for the next day. Thank you creative ladies.
Great visual illustration! Thank you...
Much appreciation for this video. This was extremely helpful! Gratitude from Hamburg, Germany.
Hi new viewer! I have used the idea of a uniform for many years. But I keep my total wardrobe pieces down to about 20 or under, in order to do that I have only three basic colours;, black, white and grey and one or two grey/blue. For jewelry I agree with the idea of a statement necklace, but I don't think you need as many as you showed. One chunkier, and one more delicate is enough for me, and one or two scarves. The real freedom of this is not only having a uniform, but also not having to make too many combination choices. And the benefit from having so few clothing items is that I can purchase very good quality items that are better tailored to fit, and last longer. Interested to see more of your videos. I don't know who the Flylady is, but will look it up. :)
Living on a farm I have work clothes and good clothes. The work clothes seem to be my daily wear. That and yoga pants, I can't seem to break the yoga pants habit! I did clear out a lot of old work t-shirts last week and cut them up for rags. It's a start!
Another lovely video Diane. Thanks for sharing this!
Great fun 😁 I am having to actually stock up on clothes so it's very handy to know what to look for. You have definitely re-inspired my love for funky jewellery and embracing my more girly side. X x x
Thank you! Been waiting for this. Hope you show us what you bring home from the swap and how you will use in your wardrobe.
Great Video!!
yesterday I got 3 marks and Spencer trousers, I was really needing them, for 75%off, I'm so happy :-)
enjoy your swap party tonight
Thank you for encouraging us to shop what we already own. Not clothes related, but this video inspired me to have a look around at what I have that I could replace a tray for the couch/coffee table. Have been wanting to buy a simple black or grey one to blend with the couch but had a look around my house. Sounds odd but looked at a speckled jellyroll pan I've not used much and looks brand new. Wondered if once I set it on the couch if it would just look like a cooking sheet on my couch lol, but no. Looks like a modern tray once I set a teapot and my cup on it. Sides high enough to catch spills and I like a tray large enough to keep my clutter on so I only have to clean off the tray at night instead of the couch and whole coffee table etc. Contains the mess to one tray. Using something that was collecting dust, saved money, and can take 'buy a sofa tray' off my to do list. Win win win.
Yay, love that you 'shopped' your own home, Ellen 😍
As always, great tips! Thanks for sharing.
Love this video Diane! I have a capsule wardrobe and I find it really helps me and I've got to know what items I wear the most, are most practicable for me and what I enjoy wearing. Love your style and uniform and your combinations! Thanks for this! Intrigued to know how you store your jewellery as although I have purged admit I still have alot but always reach for the same pieces as it's easier to reach for them X
Great video ,very inspiring. I will definitely get my a bit dusty jewellery ,which has nit been used 😂
Fantastic thank you for your tips! Very helpful as usual!!! Xx
You are an inspiration
I like your simple approach to life (whether it's about cleaning, organizing, fashion...) You have a very nice silhouette. Daily swimming must be your secret... You also seem to be quite tall which helps.
Home & Order by Tonia Hi Tonia! I love that you think I'm tall! 🤗 I've actually got a long body/short legs but have learned to disguise that 😄
I love Thais video. Thankyou your típs heloed me so much. 😊❤️
Thanks for this Diane, I have found it really helpful.
Loved this video. I have far too many clothes and far too many which don't go with anything. I hope you show us what you bring home from the swap party.
junipa put on what makes you feel good. That's my uniform 💛
I do. I just wish I wasn't quite so impulsive in my purchases!
so very helpful thank you
My uniform is khaki pants and black top. My rule on new clothes is to only acquire what I can wear with three other things. Since I stick with the khaki and black, I have no trouble finding fill in pieces
Good morning! ☀️
Leticia C Gm! 😁
I have a wicker chair just like that, a darker green though. I keep my stuffed animals on it!! I like stuffed animals. I did plan and play day today because I really needed to.
Great Video, help me a lot :)
Great video !!!! Thank you:-)
I'm entering week 32 with third baby and I've been doing well with getting dressed and shower and some make up but I'm afraid soon I'll be back to sweats and comfort clothes as the season changes and I get bigger and ultimately have the baby. I don't want it to become my excuse but I know comfort and ease will triumph over looking nicer. What are your thoughts Diane?
Pls more videos about clothing and menu planning . I mean how to force myself to stick to plannig tmeals regularly ..Bye
Like Vanessa Holland, I like your style of uniform! But where or what style is it? I can't seem to find it.
+flybaby54 My style? Classic with a bit of edge/eclectic 😄
You always look lovely.
Dianne, I too get depressed in the winter, my doctor told me about a light that you sit in front of for 20 minutes - it really helped me. The condition is called seasonal affective disorder (SAD). You can get the lights on the internet. I don't know the link anymore- I've had mine a long time. Kathy Studt
I would love to look put together - however, I'm the Mom in the sand building mud cakes, jumping in puddles and hill rolling in the rain with kids... it would be impractical for me to dress beautifully. I tend to stick to running pants and t-shirts. But I do dress to runners everyday.
