HDL Bits will be a lifesaver to continue learning Verilog programming for digital systems from here on out for me, thanks for spreading this wealth of knowledge/experience! Much love bro
I'm currently 18,I have been planning to take up Electronics Engineering,This video really helped me to understand Hardware Engineering,Thanks for the video bro,You really helped me understand the course.
Im literally trying to do the same thing you are. Im Computer Engineering going into my masters at either UCSD or USC and it would be my dream to work at NVIDIA, Apple, or AMD. I wanna focus on computer architecture or something relating to optimizing software for a certain hardware architecture at a low level.
Same. I like low-level work. I'm learning assembly in my spare time. But so many jobs are going more into AI and software services. I just want to focus on computer architecture...
Can you do a video of some of your resumes and how you highlight your projects and work experience? I plan on doing a few projects this summer and already have a few that highlight the relevant skills and I have non relevant engineering experience so I was wondering how you formatted your resume
very helpfull video, any experience in analog circuit designing? are there many opportunities? i'm currently studying electronics engineering in Milan, which cannot be compared to any american university from both college-work interconnections (u have tons of opportunity to work while graduating which is one of the key point why american universties are top notch imo) and digital electronics(we kinda suck :(( ) but regarding IC design we kinda are up there in europe with eth, lousanna and delft leading and PoliMI right after. So do you have any tip regarding IC design interviews? i guess coding is still required, so i got to put some time on it. Thank you for your patience
Thank you for sharing. Can you please make videos focused on each of technical skills (coding, electrical engineering, math fields like linear algebra, discrete math), etc) that are critical for jobs in companies like Nvidia, Samsung, etc. Looking forward to learn from your technical experience in these areas. Thank you!
Is age discrimination an issue with landing a Hardware engineering job? I am currently 28 and looking to switch careers and it would suck if I put in hard work just to be turned down from internships because I'm a nontraditional student.
You'll want Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering courses under your belt. You don't actually need to be a CS major to have a professional coding background. In fact, folks I know in industry recommend that young people pursue EE or ECE over CS. So many CS students graduate with nothing to show for it, whereas EE and ECE students have most everything the CS students do plus all the big scary logic and circuit courses that CS students get filtered out of.
Liked this video, can you give me some advice? I'm from ECE background and currently in software role with 1.5 YoE, I have lost touch with lot of my ECE knowledge but still want to get back to doing Computer Engineering. Basically, I'm doing web dev stuff in my job and want to go to lower abstraction levels if possible. Doesnt have to be HW, but I do want to pursue MS from a good uni. My undergrad was a disaster, no interns, no research etc. What steps I can take to catch up and build a good profile?
Was looking for this on my research on hardware engineering roles. I don’t know if my reasoning is flawed but I am getting scared of learning software due to flooded competition and potential replacement/ low demand because ofAI automation . My assumption is that it’s difficult to automate hardware engineering with AI. Please let me know what you think.
I think highly specialized roles (in sw or hw) are harder to replace with AI. I wouldn’t worry so much about getting replaced, instead learn how to improve efficiency using AI and understand which skills/tasks AI simply can’t do (be good at these tasks)
Hi! Your video's inspiring. Could your share what courses you think are the most useful and students must to take for the hardware engineer positions? What is your opinions on FPGAs engineers? Would you mind to share your resumes in college to get the internships? Thank you!
Definitely should take basic programming classes, RTL design, computer architecture. FPGA engineering sounds very cool, I don't have much experience with it :) Attached my resume in my Linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/abishek-venkit-1795b513b/
If I’m interesting in the RTL and digital design hardware engineering roles, what would be a good start? I’m currently learning PCB design and I plan to start learning VHDL or Verilog (and figure out the difference between the two) but I am not sure what I can do to stand out. I know projects help, but what projects in particular help?
You build a game or service that runs on an fpga. While it may not be the most efficient, you can build parts of the project in SystemVerilog and interface this hardware with software. You can do this with fpga learning kit, or just test it using simulation, lots of options!
Explore tech in any way u can, join robotics, enter hackathons, stuff like that. You have plenty of time, don’t worry about doing the exact right things to get a job you might not even want :)
Hello Abi, I just subbed, anyway I'm an EEE student year 2 now, BSc. I want to become a hardware engineer...I need more tips from u bro and if better still we can get in touch I'd be glad. I'll be taking courses in electromagnetic theory and circuit analysis 2 so, I am really focusing on making it out well not a theory-based engineer but an engineer at heart bro....Peace out!
Hello Sir ! Myself Student of first year studying AI&DS in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. I have decided to enhance my career by choosing my passion. I found that, I am interested in Computer Architecture and GPU related things. Could you please help me to land on NVIDIA?
How to get a Computer Engineering Degree ? What college & How many years & fees ? Are we need a foundation course for enter to the computer engineering degree ? I am 21 years old. I have not much money. Can I get a scholarships ?
4 year degree, can cost a lot depending on the school but scholarships are definitely available. Would suggest doing research on different programs, specifically public state-schools, which may be more likely to give scholarships and are generally cheaper.
Nice Insights Abi! I'm a video editor, if you need any help or want me to edit them for you I'll be there for you. It will be free of charge to you. Let me know
I followed his advice, and now I have an internship at AMD so I’d say his advice worked pretty well 😂
This made my day!
When he says 1-2 problems a day, he really means 1-2 problems that challenge your brain, not easy problems.
Dude, I'm super excited for your channel to grow. Your videos are always so well done and organized. Keep up the great work, man.
You're journey is pretty much what I am replicating in some way.. I am still working on the masters tho, good content bro! Easy sub

This is awesome. I've been looking for a video like this when it comes to hardware engineering.
With all the things you're sharing.. you deserve what you have today.
Thank you so much for making this video! Your pointers were super helpful. Also really like the updated camera quality :)

Keep posting abt hardware engineer and software plis, channel like this is rare for hardware engineer
Thanks , you'r videos are really helpful and informative keep that up ❤️💜
Thanks for sharing brother, Really Interesting Journey,
Hoping to get guidance if get stuck.
Can you make a video on your nividia interview experience
^This and could you please ask the software engineers at nvidia about their experience interviewing when you put this out

I'm doing an AS in Computer Programming. Do you think that's going to help towards my BS in Computer Engineering?
Im a bstat student does being work as a sde does we need Cs degree
For hardware jobs, strongly recommend college degree. For sw jobs it’s a bit more flexible

Bro,Is skill or education more important?
Please Reply
I think education, you can build your skills by working hard in school and taking the right steps :)
Hey abishek, I would love to have a 1-1 discussion with you as I’m really interested in working in computer architecture. Have a great day!

UIUC

Maybe do some cool projects, write compelling essays, contact admissions and maybe talk to some professors directly. Emphasize your passion for ece.

It’s dann near impossible to get into hardware without a college degree ( most instances a masters at least).
