  • This week, your host Dave Oakley is introducing the all-new Sportmax Q4 by Dunlop, a company that has been dedicated to performance and innovation for over 125 years. He explains why high-performance motorcycle riders looking for the next generation of track tires should definitely turn to Dunlop Sportmax Q4 tires.
When choosing new tires for your bike, many questions arise: which tire category to choose for which bike? For what use? How long will they last? It is important to choose your tires according to the intended use of your motorcycle, but the choice of tires is a subject of endless discussion, as everyone's experience is so different!
The Sportmax Q4 has a bold look, with bold performance for bold riders. This purpose-built track-day tire achieves lean angles up to 62 degrees! More than any other street-legal tire Dunlop has ever made.
The user-friendly Q4 does not require tire warmers, and runs at street pressures, eliminating the need for chassis or electronic adjustments. Rear tire compound contains carbon black like Dunlop’s racing slicks for maximum grip.
Jointless Tread (JLT) technology uses a continuously wound strip compound to optimize stability, flex, and grip across the rear tread profile. Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) uses carbon fiber reinforcement in the sidewalls for exceptional cornering performance, braking stability and feel.
** WARNING ** Although approved for road use, these tires have been developed primarily for track use.

Best review of this tire hands down. I run a lot of track days and about to go to my third set for the season. I usually run the Q3± . I am looking to run this tire next.

On my 2nd set of Q4s and I’m a slow track day guy. Love these tires.

I love the plush feel of the softer sidewall Tires. My favorite is the supercorsa not to soft not to hard sidewall but just right.

You’ll want to try Pirelli’s answer to the Q4’s, the Supercorsa TD’s. Similar performance and designed to not use tire warmers.

Why should this not be bought as an every day commuter tire? I have a CBR600F, and ride my bike to commute the 5K or so to the gym a couple of times a week, but I enjoy the odd blast up the hills. My cornering is terrible, I lean very little and I use the rear break a lot to steady the bike. Also, I am afraid to hang out too close to the edge of the road before a turn. I could do with some confidence, and I could handle the tire only lasting a couple of thousand kilometers if I got some confidence. Is this the tire to gain that confidence?

Hi great review what does this tire weigh?

So .. If I use these at a club race, I run those pressures?

Yes but these are not race tires. If your club requires DOT tires then I suggest going for the Dunlop GP-A DOT race tires. You must use warmers though.

You know more than the review I saw earlier. The Dunlop rep didn't seemed like he wanted to talk about the tires until he was asked questions but you just speak fluently about them. I think you need to submit your resume LMAO
