Then Rodan submitted to ghidorah because he knew he couldn’t win. But the thing is his allegiance Is always shifting, that is the only similarity I can see with starscream.

For as ferocious as he is, this dude is SMART. He knows when to back down when he's outmatched, learned maneuvers by just seeing them once, and used his own natural features to his advantage, like trying to cook Mothra.
The only issue i have is that no living creature no matter how big is keeping up with a stealth bomber or any aircraft like it. They travel at over 600 mph so that big beast would get left in the dust.

Rodan’s not only pissed because people woke him from his slumber but also because people mistaken him for some big bird, birds have feathers, Rodan has scaly skin, scaly wing membranes, and he’s a pterosaur, well the original toho rodan’s are but the legendary, monsterverse Rodan is a flying reptile that pre-dates the pterosaurs and birds. Also the design for Rodan is epic in this film.
Pterosaurs we’re obligate quadrupeds on the ground and they weren’t scaly. Plus, it looks like Rodan actually has a lava-powered jet propulsion system in his wings (explains how the hell he’s so fast and nimble despite his size), which is obviously not something any actual pterosaur had.

Rodan and Mothra can fly, they are supposedly lighter than the average kaiju (Rodan likely has caved bones like birds, and Mothra has an exoscheleton like insects) But yeah, that is one hell of a building
Michael did a great job creating this new version of Rodan but I feel like the movie lacked more scenes with him. I really hope Rodan will return in GvK and even someday he will get his own solo film
I feel like Michael wanted to give us a taste of what this new Rodan is capable of. With that being said, it can hopefully lead to a Rodan movie for the monsterverse if it continues. And that way, they could show off more of his abilities and stuff

Uff, we can all agree that his movie was unexpectadly better and more ambitous than we initially thought it would be. I totally LOVE the titan we got to see and how unique they were from each other.
King of the monsters was actually amazing. I think it’s underrated because I don’t hear that much people talking about it enough. And Rodans sound design was actually one of my favorite parts pretty much all of the monsters sound designs were amazing. Love the monster verse never fails too flabbergasted me.
Rodan totally got away with everything... He got his ass kicked by Gidorah, survived. Got beaten by Mothra, again survived... And in the end he nicely bows head to Godzilla . Really a cunning monster indeed.
Y’know, this scene does something awesome, that I can remember Pacific Rim did. All of the shots are CG’d in a way so it looks like a physical camera, a shot from afar in the town, a shot with camera shake and tilt like a plane, and the in cockpit cameras too. Makes it grounded and feel like you are actually in the action.
Rodan is perfect in this movie, he's tacticle, he learns from the military and other titans, he doesnt just flail when attacking the military like in previous movies, hes smart about it, and he fights until he knows hes beat and is willing to give up at that point
Holy crap I just noticed a super cool detail about this scene. So at 1:32 when Rodan is flying over the city and his downdraft is obliterating everything as he goes you can see the Church stays put. Architecturally and logically this makes sense because churches namely Catholic and other pre-reformation houses of worship, are almost entirely made of stone. This made them essentially immune to storms and all but the worst weather related disasters! Love that an animator actually took the time to include that little bit there.
I’m an atheist and don’t believe in god but I saw that before and I always thought it was just Jesus/God protecting the church but what you said makes a lot more sense 😂

Honestly I love how Rodan just kinda shows up outta no where. Everyone’s so focused on Godzilla and Ghidora and then he just pops up and starts destroying everyone and tries to throw hands with Ghidora. It would’ve been cool if he put up a better fight but he was still so awesome.
A1pha Ch3rnovak Yes-humans “as a species” were the ones who initially released them. (I wasn’t referring to a specific group of people) Mothra, then King Ghidorah, then Rodan. The rest was a chain reaction of disastrous events. The message in this film is -don’t mess with Mother Nature-or “she”will unfortunately mess with you. Or the old saying - “Let sleeping giants lie”.
I still love that you see Rodan actually Bowing to King Ghidorah. And when he bows to Godzilla, his true king, we see he actually closes his eyes too. Also I love that little grin before he takes out all the fighters by rolling.
I hope that if Rodan returns we'll get a scene of him flapping his wings fast enough so that the flames at the end of his wings begin to create a heat storm so intense flames just combust on his target and everything around it.
I love how powerful the kaiju in this movie felt. In the first movie we saw a small flying one that didn't seem to do much damage but then Rodan who's much bigger effortlessly destroys a whole town just by flying over it.

Uff, we can all agree that his movie was unexpectadly better and more ambitous than we initially thought it would be. I totally LOVE the titan we got to see and how unique they were from each other.

King of the monsters was actually amazing. I think it’s underrated because I don’t hear that much people talking about it enough. And Rodans sound design was actually one of my favorite parts pretty much all of the monsters sound designs were amazing. Love the monster verse never fails too flabbergasted me.
The movie got a whole lot more awesome when Rodan was introduced. He gave every scene he was in a kickass, roller-coaster feeling.

Y’know, this scene does something awesome, that I can remember Pacific Rim did. All of the shots are CG’d in a way so it looks like a physical camera, a shot from afar in the town, a shot with camera shake and tilt like a plane, and the in cockpit cameras too. Makes it grounded and feel like you are actually in the action.
It’s almost like a roller coaster.
When i saw it in theaters i couldn’t believe how realistic everything looked and felt. Like i was right there with them.

Rodan is perfect in this movie, he's tacticle, he learns from the military and other titans, he doesnt just flail when attacking the military like in previous movies, hes smart about it, and he fights until he knows hes beat and is willing to give up at that point

My favorite kaiju is rodan. I wish they could make him a good kaiju (as in roles) like they did all the way back in the 1950's and 1960's
That was the scariest part of the movie there, Rodan flying down from the Volcano, and it's hurricane force tail wind destroying the city.
props to the cameraman crew who stood in the whole air and city just to record this kaiju.

Holy crap I just noticed a super cool detail about this scene.
So at 1:32 when Rodan is flying over the city and his downdraft is obliterating everything as he goes you can see the Church stays put. Architecturally and logically this makes sense because churches namely Catholic and other pre-reformation houses of worship, are almost entirely made of stone. This made them essentially immune to storms and all but the worst weather related disasters! Love that an animator actually took the time to include that little bit there.

The amount of experience and wisdom combined with determination and strength that this creature had was insane. He’s always been my fav (other than mothra)

Kidding, I love Rodan, he's my voracious volcano vulture boi...but he totally bent the knee, and fast, after getting his pyromaniacal posterior handed to him by Ghidorah. It was actually Ghidorah's yodeling that did it, but still rather mercenary of the titanic toasty turkey...
I just love how Rodan woke up from his slumber and the first thing he does is wanting all the smoke from Ghidorah
I just love his name, and especially how one of the female actor pronounce it as “ROW DAN” in one of the scene in the movie... But i was expecting more screen time for rodan.

Honestly I love how Rodan just kinda shows up outta no where. Everyone’s so focused on Godzilla and Ghidora and then he just pops up and starts destroying everyone and tries to throw hands with Ghidora. It would’ve been cool if he put up a better fight but he was still so awesome.
Missed the scene where you see Ghidorah's silhouette in the clouds as lightening lights it up and Rodan is circling the city in the same shot.
When I saw this on the big screen I got chills. Love what they did with Rodan

The rest was a chain reaction of disastrous events. The message in this film is -don’t mess with Mother Nature-or “she”will unfortunately mess with you. Or the old saying - “Let sleeping giants lie”.

I love how powerful the kaiju in this movie felt. In the first movie we saw a small flying one that didn't seem to do much damage but then Rodan who's much bigger effortlessly destroys a whole town just by flying over it.
Whos here 4 years later knowing this movie slaps all the newest movies out to date in the monster verse
