Your videos are really helpful. I was hoping you could answer a question. When you have two different types, for example, Material and Count, Is there any way for the Material and Count to appear alongside in the same line. For example, My count would be 10 ea. of a 5' joist. My material calculated based on that count would 5 ea. 2"x6"x10". I want the two different "Types" to appear on the same row.
Hey Todd, thank you for all your videos. I was wondering if there was a way to had a group footer onto my report that would be a text box that would be tied to an exclusion as I would need many exclusions per trade as I have a about 5 to 6 different trades in my report.I was wondering if you could help me out thanks
Love your videos! Keep on doing them! I noticed in your properties you often use this formula [..\..] from where does it pull info? and what is the idea of it?
Hi Skyline, the [..\..] is a simple code to take the grandparent property info and the [..] is a code for taking the parent property info. These are very useful for developing templates. This works with text and numbers and check boxes. A good example is if you want to carry the takeoff property "Name" down to the part level, use [..] in the child part in the name property and it will show up in results.. really hope this helps, I may do a video on this, because there is so much more to offer. Thanks for watching
Wow! Thanks for the prompt response! the parent [..] brackets i've been always using by passing it down till the child, I guess with this I can eliminate by only entering it in the first grandparent folder and pass down the results all the way to the grandson!! 😃
Thanks for all the videos. I was wondering if it is possible to create a report that is sorted or filtered by page (drawings sheet)? My goal is to get my “Qty 2” property by page.
Hi and sorry for the late reply, I have tried that and talked with Ps. The only thing I could come up with is to put a [Page Name] property in each takeoff property in your template. then make a report for pages. It is awkward at best, because you will need a new Takeoff Property for each page for the same items. It should be easier than that. I think Ps needs to create a capture area on any sheet that reflects that are in a separate report. We have it 30 years ago by using GTCO boards. Sorry I don't have better news....
Hey Todd in my report screen the column tab at the top screen is greyed out I'm unable to open the column button, is there a selection in settings that need to be enabled? thanks
The other videos are in the same channel for advanced users. PlanSwift has a ton of videos for beginners on their website, I would highly recommend staring there.
I just want to create a report to sort it out by drawing numbers - for example ground floor, first floor etc? no option for this that i can see.... can you help?
I was wondering if the totals at the bottom of the Cost Each column in your example estimate include the subitems for materials, labor etc, and if not, how do you do that. I have tried that tree structure but I find that the I'm accounting twice for the cost of the subitems.
Yes, exactly. Try filtering out the Assemblies. I have seen this in the past and it comes down to people are filtering the assemblies in as well as the parts, so it doubles the costs. Thanks for watching
I do have a question!!! I use planswift to do takeoffs of piping and ductwork systems. Sometimes in one page we have different systems like HVAC Pipe and HVAC Ductwork... Same page two different systems. But to do a report I have only been able to separate the report into the systems as a whole, but not per pages... what if the contractor asks me to do a breakout of the same pipe but it runs from area A into area B and I only need one of the pages, is there a way to get the report per page without having to actually do a takeoff per page...???? Is there any way I can ask planswift to give me the takeoff items I have in an specific page, regardless of what system they are???
I have tried, and have had not luck breaking the reports down by page. I was able to cover the takeoff items, but not the assemblies in a report. Have you tried PlanSwift? It would be a great feature recommendation.
Como realizar reportes por paginas, ya que tengo varias paginas en el mismo arhivo, pero al momento de generar el reporte lo pone todo y no puedo descriminarlo por planta, agradeceria me lo explicara, gracias y saludos.
Remember from the video, you need to be in Grid View, then right click on the report name... gor to Properties, then advanced, then check the ColumnEdit box and the ColumnGrouping Box.... Hope this helps.
Wow! I was intimated when I looked at creating a custom report. Thank you so much for helping me get started! Clear and to the point!
Great video please keep up the good work

Thanks for the video. Can you do a video for preparing bill of quantities
We can take mortar required for block with ratio 1:4 which give us cement sand as per m2??
Where can I find the two other videos in this series. Do you have a series that starts from scratch for beginners?

Why I can't use the report columns tab when I go to report. It's not highlighted sir. I have a ver. 10.1

Sir how to activate planswift
Please reply
Not sure of the question, but if you have a PS license and it will not activate, I would suggest a call to PlanSwift.
