Drummer, neurosurgeon and lovely human being Dr Alex Koefman is my guest on today's podcast. This was such an incredible chat I don't know where to begin describing it. We spoke about his love for music, what happens to the brain when you play music, what it's like having a conversation with a patient who's skull is sitting next to them while their brain is exposed, the role of luck, and so much more. Dear Michael,
That was an absolutely fascinating interview. It is always interesting to hear perspectives on subjects you know nothing about from an expert who can manage to be engaging and honest about what they do and still make it comprehensible to the lay person. It must be a bit of double whammy for Dr Alex to be in his field and simultaneously be the object of awe but then the recipient of all those drummer jokes!
