I have Girl Interrupted! One of the houses in the movie was filmed in Bellevue Park. My mom’s friend’s house was in the shot where Winona Ryder was getting into the car to go to Claymoore.
You see those japanese larch trees around the seating area of those steps? A lot were brought in. Extremely rare. All the trees are marked and recorded.
I have stood exactly where this was filmed, and toured the entire facility, including the tunnels below. Such a fascinating place. I've heard it is now closed to the public completely, due to vandalism.
I want to go visit this place, there's supposedly some sort of creepy wagon Turnpike here along the Susquehanna River to that used to go right past my house
@@runningintohistory My favorite ruin in Mt Gretna is a trail that leads right to a set of steps in the middle of the woods… one more idea. The witches hat pavilion and the Neversink Mountain hotel ruins. In Reading. I was told there are ruins there. I cannot vouch for them.
@@CountryFenderBass never heard of those either. I knew there had to be some interesting areas in that part of the state. Thanks for the ideas! If you get a chance, look me up on Facebook. It's easier to share information there. I share most of my research there.
This was so well done - i wish it was longer......
Thank you! I wanted to see how this "Hidden" series went before making longer videos.
I've always been interested in the state hospital. I would love to watch a deep dive into it's history from you.
It is an interesting place. I definitely should work on something about it.

Pretty cool. I didn't know that was Bellevue Park.

Interesting. I did notice they were labeled like the Harrisburg Cemetery trees.
I remember visiting my grandpa when he was a patient there back in the 80s.

I heard it was closed too unfortunately. I'm surprised this area hasn't been marked up.
Really interesting! Somehow I didnt hear about that filming.
Just as I was getting into the video it ends☹️

Did you ever do a survey of the prison in Mount Grenta? The ruins are still there.
@@CountryFenderBass no I was not aware of a prison in Mount Gretna. I will look it up. Thank you for the tip and please keep the locations coming.
@@runningintohistory It’s starts on State Game Lands 145 near Lawn Hill road and Harvest View Stables
@CountryFenderBass I just looked it up. Very interesting. Thank you.
