Very calming video. I appreciate the sharing of information without a bunch of theatrics. Great channel. I learned a lot.

Excellent utilization for short hair. I use the “brown” side of the tail which is a darker shade on the top of (hook side of) the jig.
To utilize the utmost of the hair, I start it further down the hook then use a crappie-like chenille for the body.
Wanted to mention I really like your “hide and slide” whip finish on your collars!

great video and discussion. I tie 1/16oz crappie jigs all the time. I like a size 4 of 2 Mustad 32500 sickle hook. I try to use the small hairs on those sizes of hooks. Another good option is Faux Bucktail from Fish Skull.

Like the way this one is scaled down yet remains proportional. Haven't used kiptail....how is it different to use/tie than bucktail? Thanks for sharing.

I think calf tail is pretty similar to bucktail in a scaled down sense. On calf the hair tends to be more uniform in length but is thicker at the base and finer at the ends just like deer.
