I remember this as a 21 year old RCM student. You can get a glimpse of me around 18:08 just in awe of the two masters at work here. Something I'll never forget.
You know, as much as I love Zukerman’s solo playing, I looooove his ensemble playing better. It really showcases his sensitive articulation and phrasing, especially the soft, delicate articulation at the end of phrases, and at cadences, and his beautiful tone just shines when he matches it with another player or other players, whether he’s playing violin or viola. This combination is so brilliant, and Perlman’s joy in playing never ceases to draw me right in! There are a few instrumentalists whose gorgeous sound and manner of playing I can recognize blind, and Perlman is one....doesn’t matter what I’m doing, what piece it is-even songs from the klezmer album on the radio before I even _KNEW_ there was a klezmer album, which was bizarre-or where I am, I _always_ know it’s he playing. Such a phenomenal combo!!
Look up what kind of ascinine racist bullshit he's been spewing around in the past years - He finally got outed as sad little racist who has a deep rooted inferiority complex on Asian musicians LOL
MUSIC, MUSICALS, LECTURES, HOW TO'S AND LESSONS. So many things I see, hear and learn for the first time and I am stunned by the discovery. There are some really smart people working at You Tube. BRAVO!!
They’re both so deceptively casual. They play as if it’s just a regular day as any other, completely obscuring the massive amount of effort and energy that they pour into their craft. Marvelous..
When those two meld their individualities together you get the ideal complete violinist to my ears and heart. My God bless Christopher Nupen for capturing these two giants at the absolute center of their ascent for eternity.

The strings convey a marvellous crystalline bright, mellow sonorous melody and virtuously played by two violin DIVAS! Mesmerising performance. Excellent recording.
This wasn't their first time together. Find the 1968 video of those two along with Jacqueline Du Pre, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta on double bass!
@@BorregOmar "appearing together for the first time" to me implies they hadn't played together before in any form. In any event they played fantastically alongside the aforementioned artists.
Wow... It's like how when people lose a sense like hearing or sight and it makes their other senses stronger that Itzhak Perlman's arms are stronger because of his polio and so is his violin playing. I seriously don't know how he does it with such thicc fingers!
Unglaublich!!
It is more than obvious to who is truly more versatile. Unfairly promoted. Though they both are equally great. One Is not better than the other. Style and sound is a matter of preference! Beautifully synchronized! Master of both violin and viola speaks for itself. Lawn ornament, or a statue of God.
She and Daniel Barenboim had been lovers for years. After she changed her religion (NO easy task) they married at the Western Wall in Jerusalem which very very few people get permission for especially for a convert like Jackie du Pre´. They were a small coterie of mates the stories of their activities are endless.

oy, these two both have such great spirits, sense of humor, and interest in other music forms, i really would have loved to have heard them improvise together, like that little bluegrass bit at beginning. pearlman later made a pretty poor ersatz klezmer album that came off as the echo of what was once klezmer...but that beginning as quite good.

Two grand violin masters playing as one. A rare marvel.
I love how they are so funny and adorable at the same time! Great sense of humor.

This helps with staying home ...... thanks and stay well !!

Just awesome
