This is my fave egg cooker. I’ve had a couple of other brands and they all work just fine, but the Cuisinart has the best form factor IMO. It makes perfect hard cooked eggs every time without piercing the eggs. I haven’t tried other egg styles. I use distilled water only, but it still gets yucky. I immediately pour in vinegar while the plate is still warm after every use. Cleans up like a charm.
I believe piercing the egg makes it much easier to peel. I have the Dash egg cooker and it's a breeze to peel as I've always pierced the eggs. Thanks for the video.
I've had this thing for years and it still works great. Simple design means less things that can fail. I think I bought it brand new when you can get them for $20 or so.
Good question. The instructions and measuring cup for the water don’t specify differently, so I’m thinking yes. That seems logical to me, too, given it’s the heat + time = desired doneness. Cheers!
So I found this at a thrift store and watched the beginning of your video without seeing that it came with a measuring instruction cup which this one did not have when i git it home, any idea the measurements without the measurement cup if I just have to use a regular measuring cup for, let's say, those medium boiled eggs?
Or let the vinegar sit for a few minutes (or longer) depending on how much it’s stained. Vinegar works great cleaning it. I use white vinegar, but it probably doesn’t matter. Great video!
How long are the eggs good for? I keep reading that unpeeled eggs are good for 1-week, but peeled eggs are good for 2-4 days. Since these eggs are pierced, I assume they then fall under the 2-4 days. Just figured I'd ask since the 2-4 days make the most sense. Thanks in advance.
That sounds logical. Those in their shell are deemed safe for a week refrigerated, so if pierced I’d think a bit less. Wrapping them tightly in plastic wrap might also be a good idea if you are concerned with odors emitting from or intruding into the eggs. Cheers!
So, the water serves as a switch? When all the water has boiled off..you're done! It is rather clever. Steaming eggs is the best way to cook eggs. But a pot with a steamer basket will do the same thing. Great review of an interesting product!
Thank you! Yes, I’m guessing this works in a similar fashion as a rice cooker, where a thermal switch is activated once the water boils off and the plate reaches a temp beyond 212 F. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed. 🙏
I just like trying unusual or different kitchen cooking equipment even if I don't need it.thanks for demonstrating this egg cooker. Very interesting. Peace *)
Egg prices are beginning to ease, but you saw what they were in Southern California when I made that video a couple of months ago. And that was at lower-cost stores including Aldi. Crazy, eh? Thanks for watching 🙏
Lol. Good question. Maybe it’s the type of chickens over here? We have brown eggs, too, but traditionally they are more expensive and less common. I prefer them over white, even if I can’t tell a difference in taste 🤪

Good to know! Thanks for watching 🙏
Never going to use this machine but I appreciate you giving a good overview of these obscure machines
I've had this thing for years and it still works great. Simple design means less things that can fail. I think I bought it brand new when you can get them for $20 or so.
Great to hear! 👍
I have this machine but lost the measuring device. I could see all the measurements I need on your video. Thanks!
Glad it helped! 👍
Thanks for your time putting into this review. Just a question , you need the same amount of water when you want to boil one egg instead 7 eggs?

Just measured. For medium boiled it’s about half cup of water. For hard-boiled it’s just under 1 cup. Hope this helps!
Got one of these at Goodwill for about 6 bucks. Works great
Excellent score! Err, eggscellent 😀
If you rub some white vinager on the plate, it gets the stain out. I do it all the time.
Good to know. Thank you! 🙏

The fresher the egg the harder to peel
Use Bar Keepers Friend to clean the bottom with. I need an egg cooker like that!
Good call! Cheers 🙏
BKF rox.
Very well explained 💯
Thank you! 🙏
Love the dog!
What happen if I don’t turn it off inmediately?
Thanks! If not turned off, I believe it just continues to make that shrill, annoying sound.
I just like trying unusual or different kitchen cooking equipment even if I don't need it.thanks for demonstrating this egg cooker. Very interesting. Peace *)
Thanks for watching and happy cooking! 🙏
Dude eggs are 2.29 in wa state as of march '23 in grocery outlet. where are you shopping at "pirac is us?" aka 'safeway?'
all that aside, good review.

Ok, how do you do bread pudding in it?
I forget the exact recipe but it’s in the little booklet. Basically mix wet ingredients and bread, set in plate, and let machine stream-cook it.
Thanks .
Good review but best part was dog egg catch!
Thanks! He is far more talented than me, lol.
i love your video
and will also try steaming my face
LOL
😊
Thanks and enjoy the steaming 🤣
LOVE THE PUPPY,GOING TO BUY THE EGG COOKER
Thanks! Enjoy :)
I wish I liked eggs. They're good for you. I can eat scrambled, that's about it. Anyway, neat little machine!
Fresh eggs are much harder to peel than older ones.
You need to use a pin it will be easier.
why do all American have white eggs? I've never seen white eggs in my life until I started watching Americans use eggs on RUclips
