    It's an ok kitchen gadget, but I generally prize counter and cabinet space over task specific gadgets. My mom has so many gadgets crowding her kitchen that it's frustrating--at least for me! My weak spot for gadgets is for coffeemakers, but even coffee can be made easily with a pot on the stove top. Do you own a must-have gadget? My top 3 gadgets would be 1)French Press 2)Moka Pot 3)Hand Blender

      Yes I love gadgets. I have mini and full size French Press. Handheld blender, egg slicer, panini maker, pasta maker. Ninja Coffee maker and Nutrí Blender. Mandolin Slicer. Garnish Kit. I know I’m a sucker for an infomercial, but I investigate before I buy. I have a pressure cooker but have fallen in love with my friends Ninja Foodie.

    Buck I think you're being a bit unfair to the little dookickey. Items like these are great for people who don't particularly enjoy cooking the way you do. This is one of those things where you set it up and then go get ready in the morning while it cooks your breakfast for you. It's not designed for high quality, 5 star dining, it's designed for convenience and time management. You aren't the target audience for something like this.

      I went into this video thinking I wouldn't have too much good to say about the little steamer, but I did find it to be kinda handy, and I have used it a couple of times since making this video. I thought the poaching effect was pretty good, since you can easily steam a couple of eggs quicker than boiling a pot of water, but steaming "boiled" eggs might be the best part, since they do seem to peel easier after steaming...peeling boiled eggs can be a pain, so I generally use older eggs for boiling, but steaming seems to make even fresher eggs easier to peel

    I have one too and love it! I had a habit of boiling eggs in a small pot on the stove, and would totally forget that time had passed and water would evaporate. Now with this little guy, it beeps to let me know my eggs are done. I have to vary the water level as the organic eggs I buy are big and because of our high altitude (6,224 ft) . Absolutely love this little egg cooker. Highly recommended. Makes an awesome gift too!

In all my years I've never been able to peel a fresh egg without it looking like I had put through a chopper to do it. I got mine today and found this video to explain how this little jewel works.. I bought one for myself and each member of my family(2 grown kids and one for my mother, my daughter doesn’t do eggs so she lost out). Yes it is a gadget, but a great gadget! I use it every weekend for soft boiled eggs. I make hard boiled eggs for the week or for deviled eggs. What I like is I don’t have to get out pots, it has am alarm so I can be doing something else while eggs are cooking. The eggs always come out perfect. I have learned to adjust water to right where I need so soft boiled are not over cooked.
    Side note my daughter in law and son wore out there first one, so I am going to purchase them a 14 egg cooker.
    It is great for Keto. I can chop up omelette fixings the night before, and put in Dash while I’m getting vitamins and coffee for the day.

    I love this for mornings ...getting ready for work. I pop in three eggs go get dress ...it times itself...buzz...they are done. I did not have to think about them worry about them it’s like they cook them selves when they’re done it turns off , they are either ready to eat or ready to go to work with me. If I never used it for anything else but hard boiling eggs it would be a timesaver and efficient use. WORTH IT‼️I am not a gadget person as far as appliances go in fact I don’t even have mini appliances other than your standard mixer , oven...regular oven /stove and refrigerator and dishwasher… But I love this, little, easy-on-space egg cooker‼️❣️

    Chef Buck, I have the egg cooker by Dash. Mine can do 12 eggs.I use mine at least once a week for hard boiled eggs. The one thing great about this is that you can make your eggs without babysitting a pot on the stove so you can do other things while it's preparing these. I probably wouldn't make them as often with out this. I do have the newer one with the alarm when the eggs are done. It's easy to put away when you're done, easy to clean, and if you want to ensure your eggs are cooked the way you want them, then this is for you. I don't leave mine on the counter top unless I'm using it. Glad to see you using one and hope you'll use it oftener for hard boiled eggs--so much easier to peel when they are steamed. Enjoyed your video! Have a great day!

    • @ChefBuckRecipes
      @ChefBuckRecipes  5 лет назад +1

      I did find the eggs easier to peel than I usually find them to be...I'll often use older eggs when I boil them in a pot so that the shells will peel off easier, but the eggs in the vid were recently purchased and came off lickety split

      @@ChefBuckRecipes. I just bought one cuz I use fresh chicken eggs which NEVER peel easily. You can also steam a single serving of broccoli or asparagus or frozen shrimp in the omelette dish. I haven’t even gotten mine yet….it’s on the road. Lol. But I saw others do things besides eggs and as a single person I think I’ll be eating a lot more fresh veggies and eggs. Can’t wait.

    I have been using elec egg cookers since the 1950's. Tips: pierce egg by pushing it down on "spike," use the handle tohelp hold eggs under water to cool down then put in cold water or put in a container & rereig right away. Some have sliding lever so you can cook egg to doneness desired, some have measuring/piercing cup which indicates how much water to use for # of eggs. Let cooker cool down before making anothe batch. Best reasons to use: no pot to watch or clean, make eggs shile doing somethingg else. Now double decker cookers are availale in 12/14 egg capacity. They can be used in single level if you desire. HB eggs keep well in frig. PS: buy by features, not cost. Most are best used with large eggs. For smaller or (xlg if they fit macine), adjust water or timer depending on machine.

    I bought this thing, a "the newer model that chimes" before I saw this video. I just only bought it used it to make hard boil eggs, which it's perfect for. Your video helped me how to take it further as someone new to the cooking space and needs to eat healthier and better. This video caters to the lower-middle class easily, this is one of the best devices, is it the best in the field? Probably not, but when you got 30 minutes in the morning to make a gourmet meal before work; its absolutely perfect. Thank you for your trial test, and using at your AirBNB.
    Thank you for this video, its wholesome with your wife I presume, trial testing a product that became better. My wife tells me if I can make an egg benedict she wont leave me. I haven't even used the accessories on this thing; now I know from a Chef himself.
    If you're an older person investing into it, you should be full sending your money into it. I don't know if its public or private. Shame if you dont have private shares, thats why you are defensive, you dont get money from it. This video is gold for the rapid egg cooker from dash at Amazon. Amazing.

    I look forward to trying mine. It’s small enough that it fits in my cabinet which I love and should be easier than my instant pot.

    Been using this for 6 months and works great. You have to put a little more water than what the water container marks indicate for best results.

    P.S. the handle is so that you can pick them all up and place them simultaneously in a cold water bath. I guess that part wasn't in the manual, but now you know.

    Love the Egg Cooker. Perfect Gift. My friend always over boils her eggs to a rubbery stage. Yuk. This will stop that. The reason you pierce the egg is so it doesn't turn green around the edge. My Aunt used a needle and showed me how to do it. Pretty Cool. Thanks for the demo. You two are a Hoot to watch.

      yeah...it wouldn't be a bad gift, I'd rather get an egg cooker than clothes since almost all of my friends and family are fashion challenged. When I boil eggs on a stove top, I place the eggs in a pot of cold water and bring to a boil, then when the water reaches a boil, I turn off the heat and let sit for 11-12 minutes...the rapid egg cooker wasn't much faster than that for 6 eggs, it did poach the eggs faster, though, since you don't have to boil a pot of water.

      @@ChefBuckRecipes I too don't boil my eggs. I cook them the same way as you do. My friend is British. You would think she knows how to cook eggs, nope. Lol. Thanks for your method of cooking eggs stovetop. Easiest way overall I think. Cook, peel and make egg salad all in one pan.

    • @ChefBuckRecipes
      @ChefBuckRecipes  5 лет назад +2

      I have to say, the eggs seemed much easier to peel after steaming, and after reading some comments and researching, it appears that steaming might just be a nifty trick for making boiled eggs easier to peel--even fresher eggs...I'll have to do some comparisons

      The reason for poking holes in the egg is given in this video. The green sulphurous ring results from overcooking.

      I'm not a gadget guy, but I thought this little egg steamer wasn't a bad option...I thought the steamed eggs seemed easier to peel, and the poached egg tray was perfect if you didn't need more than 2 eggs

    Thanks for the video 👍👍👍👍👍

  • @matthewdavis9437

    It is rapid. No waiting for the water to boil then waiting for the egg to hard boil. You also get consistency with the type you want. Which is harder with a stove top if you're not experienced.
    You, in fact, save time.

    I think this is more for travelers, van lifers, etc. not so much a home cook situation. The beauty here is that for the omelet and the poached egg you can walk away from it where as with stove top you have to baby sit the eggs. Yes the new ones hava an alarm. (Recently purchased one, by the way)
