Just for context, Juan Gabriel’s utmost dream as a rising singer, was to sing in Bellas Artes with a symphony. As dreamed, he performed several times and this performance was one of them. Singing at Bellas Artes is very limited and only the most talented, deemed by the organization, can do it. He performed with the same passion at every concert. No gig was too small for him. He even wrote a song for our Lady of Guadalupe and his performances of the song at the Basilica and Estadio Azteca are breathtaking.

My Dad had tickets to his show in our local city. It was the first time Juan Gabriel was coming to Utah and my Dad was so elated. Juan Gabriel was his all-time favorite artist and he had never seen him live. Juan would die days before his show in Salt Lake. My Dad was devastated, I've never seen him like that. He isn't a person who shows his emotions easily, but this occasion was different. My dad disappeared on us for two days and when he reappeared he said he went hiking to think about things and that he was doing better. We were scared a little for a minute, but now we laugh about it.
That’s beautiful Juanga made us vibrate feel and rethink our grief life experiences and passed love lives! My mom MOURNED him. At first I didn’t understand but then the realization hit when she said:”I cry because he understood every feeling of my heart! He put it into song and he’s a part of ME! A part of my life story, my family! We pray and mourn for family!” I was like Lort my momma extreme but I get it! ❤

They also used this song for a Mexican novela. He was performing until he passed from a heart attack. To say he was an amazing showman is an understatement. I am bilingual so I listen to spanish and english music and to me. He is my #1. He sang with orchestras, Mariachi, banda and so many artist covered his music. We will never have another.

When I was a kid, one of the things that made me the saddest was not being able to see him when he came to Festival Presidente de Música Latina, he came in 1997.
It was on the same year that my grandma died.
She loved him, my mom loved him, my aunties and so did I, I knew his songs, they all used to sing them so I did also, in 1997 I was 12 years old.
I remember how 1997 was perhaps one of the saddest years, I experienced as a child.
Grandma died, Lady Diana died and Juan Gabriel came and I couldn't see him perform..

I have been watching your reviews of Juan Gabriel and I have been in tears! I grew up with these songs in my grandmothers house, my mothers house. He was MASTERFUL! A writer, signer, composer... there will never be live performances like this again. He was pure brilliance, his lyrics and music were beyond powerful. A true pride of Mexico.

One of the big carasterics of Juanga is that he can make you feel the song, it does not matter the time.. He sing this song since he was younger but everytime he does it, he makes you feel every word.
The potential and sadness in his voice transport you to his on feelings, same happens on happy songs he interprets.
I always think of this song write to all the people he loves, family, friends, fans... and ofcourse himself.. I think it hits hard to us to listening to him singing that song cause he was getting old.. and hits un on the melancoly, plus the extraordinary work he made with the symphony.

My mom, my aunt, my sister, and I had tickets to see him perform in Salt Lake City in 2016 and were absolutely devastated when he passed about a month prior after another concert in California I believe. I remember being in the car with my partner at the time when my mom called me crying to tell me the news. I started sobbing as if my own family had died, that’s how deep his impact is. I still cry every time I hear him perform.
This is Bellas Artes. The palace of fine of arts in Mexico city. This is reserved for the best and finest artists. Even though, JuanGa (as everyone calls him for short) was a man of the people, this was a culminating performance. you can see that his wardrobe tastefully is a tasteful tribute to the Mexican flag. If you like this, you should check out his duets with current artists. As a singer-song writer, he collabed a lot with a lot of young latino artists. Bellas Artes…is typically a performace of culmination when an artists reaches a certain status.
If you were to have a professional translator hand the lyrics to this song transcribed, you would feel and understand how truly profound the lyrics are. It is a most beautiful song. The background images were a reflection of his love and appreciation to fellow artists, actors, friends, and family (not sure who the lady in the vintage B/W videoclip was, perhaps his mother whom he absolutely adored.)
Talking about his appearance and change from earlier videos, in Nov 2005, he fell off the stage in Houston and really hurt his back. He also fractured his neck. He was on bed rest for 8 months. He doesnt move and dance in the post fall years compared to his earlier videos of his performances.

I’m 42 I grew up listening to him my mom and grandma loved him. This song is one of my favorites it’s an invitation to live life fully as it goes by in a blink of an eye. I don’t think translating this song makes it any justice TBH as in your video you just need to feel the song the sorrow, the love and every emotion that one can experience.

His music transcends and takes you places. He felt every song every time he performed. You can his songs even when sung by others have the same emotional connection. He was definitely a performer his music takes you deep and raises you he knew how to perform and how to make you feel part of him. This song talks about embracing each other as time will slip by. This was a regular concert for him . His concerts were epic... Like the comments say,,, people saved many checks for tickets,,looked foward to concert for months,, as soon as tickets went on sale people desperately hurried wishing for the best seats,,and praying that theres tickets left,, im in Central California Fresno CA.. and i know at least the last 16yrs 2000 on all his Arena concerts were sold out in days.. his and another legend Vicente Fernandez. Hes a singer, composer, with many musical talents.. you can look up many of his composed songs to other artists and you can always feel his sentiment in the songs...my first record ever that was my record was the small lil ones.. singles.. with the song "NoaNoa.." about a popular nite club he started his career in i think in Juarez on the Mexico,US border..he hes a very interesting, amazing Zero to Hero trajectory.. theres even a movie on his life trajectory from childhood..look it up.. you wont be disappointed..im sure you may be able to find it cc English..

It wasn't one of his last performances. He always put his heart and soul in every concert he gave. I have seen these videos a thousand , and they still give me goosebumps

Juan Gabriel was a songwriter, composer and singer far above what we’ve seen & heard in the recent past. He wrote many songs for other artists. Check out the song “Amor Eterno” recorded by Rocio Durcal. He also has a recording of it. I used to always choose that song for karaoke, but since our son’s passing, I can’t even listen to it anymore.
He visited my mom’s neighbor who was like a 2nd mom to him. Met him once, very humble and cordial.

He always keep life private. He never said if he was married or about kids. Once he died that’s when all the surprises came to light. He did a movie about he’s life. No one wanted to give him a chance he was from a poor town he decided to move to the city he sang in bars ended up in jail he sang in jail wrote a lot of songs then a famous singer gave him a chance and from there he grew and became famous.
RUclips says the song is 13 yrs old but it was more like 30 years old. Remember RUclips is not that old and artists didn’t start uploading their songs until 12 yrs ago. That song I remember singing it as a kid now I’m 38.
If you could feel the pain without lyrics, you’d cry if the English subtitles was on screen. This is one of the most heart and gut wrenching songs I know 💔 It really puts life into perspective.
