Nice work Adrian! I went to Cairns and got the 150 Train to Mareeba and back, it was a great trip and we got stuck on the Range after running out of sand! They had extra on the train so we made it to Kuranda!
Hope the Dragline is going well!
    CHeers Gregg.

Hi Gregg. From all accounts the greasers weren't turned off and they wasted sand on the way up, nothing left in the sand dome when they stalled outside that tunnel. Apparently there's a spring that causes that area to always be slippery, or so I was told by my Tutor who used to work in Mareeba. I only worked that train as far as Townsville and then was on the ill fated double header return. I'll give you a ring some time soon. Cheerio.

I miss QR Heritage very much, thinking of all the steam rollingstock that used to be on the mainline.

Nice Job Adrian. It was good that you and Paul got some footage of my long time mate Mick Saff.

The Saffioti is definitely a well known fixture isn't he. I never seemed to get Mick much as a DA because he was always working track machines. But we always managed to rehash the who is who in Heritage and Salvage circles when we did get together. Arthur Singh and Des Pasgne were regulars as well on the heritage trips I worked.

    Is BB18 1/4 1079 still operational

I'm no longer in Brisbane and so no longer a part of Heritage traincrew. All that I can say is it was parked up at Ipswich as stored. To my knowledge it would still be classed as operational, but it was due to have to have a new boiler as it was near the end of it's safe working life as was 1089. I doubt in the current economic climate that QR Heritage will be operating any excursion in the near future.
