Maybe you could let everyone know that there is already a MCDU already been built in to the Flybywire A320, as a totally free aircraft it makes sence to use the free MCDU. It works perfectly on a touch screen, only need to be enabled in the Launcher and runs in a browser full screen.
Mark, watched this video last night as I bought Simbox on Sunday morning. I've now tested it on the Fenix A320, PMDG 739 and FlyByWire A320nx Experimental. The FMC works great via my iPad. I should make it clear that I only paid the $29 for the remote FMC. Personally I think the buttons and switches are a gimmick but it's great to have an FMC that you can sit back and program while looking straight out of the cockpit window. Still loving your videos, keep up the awesome work, Graeme.
@@SimHangerFS the Fenix is my fav too. I wish they'd develop the 321 and neo's (Sharklets). Would be more than happy to pay for addons but I read recently the dev team are based in Ukraine so totally understandable that the project is slower than we'd like. I still think the FMC/MCDU is why anyone would buy the Simbox product so a massive thumbs up from me as I wil still always prefer to use the in-cockpit switches as part of my flow when flying. I plan to test it this Friday on the HondaJet but I'm not expecting much Simbox support there
After setting up multiple StreamDeck and LoupeDeck for more convenience to fly MSFS, this Simbox is a god send! Thank you for introducing and teaching us how to use it!
Thanks for the Review! I like the app and it works well with the PMDG 737 (MSFS) in 2D. In VR however, there is an issue with the FMC. It can be operated from my Smartphone but unfortunately the smart phone screen does not refresh. Moreover, I measured a big frame rate impact: in my case it went from 50 to 40 fps in VR! This applies only for FMC operation. If the FMC feature is disabled there is no performance hit (Varjo AERO 39 PPD, Intel Core i7 13700 5.8 GHz, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, Thrustmaster Yoke, TQ and Pedals). N.B. I will only use Simbox, together with a Navigraph moving map on a second display, to let a novice visitor experience a VR flight in an airliner, where I act as the non-VR flying pilot & co-pilot.
Mark - Have you tested the FMC under Windows 11? I think there's a problem with fullscreen. The Windows 11 fullscreen is triggered with ALT+ENTER. It blows the image up well beyond the FMC frame. No way to control it, so you have to terminate Simbox Control. That leaves a fullscreen image on MSFS that can't be killed without terminating MSFS via the tas manager. I've tried managing the size through Simbox Control Settings and that doesn't even work. I'd go back to Windows 10 but what am I going to do when Microsoft drops support? If you have an answer, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll open an issue with Simbox. Thanks. Also, does anyone out there have a suggestion or is anyone running the FMC under Windows 11?
Anybody had an issue with the mcdu pop out ? Once I pop it out I cannot drag it,can resize but not actually drag it anywhere on the main screen. Therefore I can’t drag it off screen onto iPad Any ideas ?
Ok I'm having problems with getting the FMC to fit on to my ipad. Right now, it partly showing on my ipad but I can't make any more adjustments. In the cockpit when I moved the fmc pic using (alt + Rt mouse click) I drug it as far rt as it would go but I couldn't get the whole panel to fit, now I'm stuck with a partial panel, and I don't know how to clear it out?
Looks great. Worth the money just for MCDU. I am just leery of the fps drop on my system. I'll have to give the free trial a go and see if the fps drop is tolerable. The last time I tried the free pop-out panel manager, it cut my frame rate in half. That was two sim updates ago, though. (MooseP)
I am with the demo version and I cannot see the mcdu/fmc screen on the tablet, the screen remains black, however it works for me on any phone. (I have tried it on a Huawei and Samsung tablet) Any idea what the problem is?
@@SimHangerFS I thought the same thing, but it seems strange to me that it works on the smartphone and it doesn't work on the tablet, that's why I ask. I'm going to buy the license then.
Hello sir. I wanted to know whether it is safe to install the simbox.....with respect to ip addresses-- As we do some transaction like booking flights etc???????.....i hope it doesn't lead to any sort of hacking or viruses....please do suggest.. Love and regards
@SimHangerFS oki.....thank you so much sir.....When I was only 1 yr old, i suffered from menengitis, cured within 2 months, but led to seizures when i was 7-8 yrs old. Thus, dream of flying would always be a dream because of the medical history.....but my love for flying will never finish......i really love your explanations....feels like my father explaining to me....❤ I would like to in touch with you personally (if possible). The only problem is that i never used instagram and facebook. Love and Regards❤...
CAUTION: Make sure your iPad (if using) is capable of installing IOS 13.4! That is the minimum IOS version for the Simbox client. I wish I'd checked that before buying the product. My old iPad won't go beyond IOS 10. That pretty much eliminates many of the "old iPads sitting around the house." I tried it on my iPhone, but the print is too small to read. Checking with Amazon, you'll have to spend at least $300 to get and iPad that will work. I don't know about the other tablets, but do your research before buying.
Good video. However ...im very confused...i followed your link to buy sim box ...but it was showing a wired box with a knob. Whaaaat? Plus ....the hardware requirements included a 3D printer! 😂😂😂😂😂 What the heck?
There is an option…if you want to…to add a knob (which you can 3d print) for use and interaction with SimBox. However this is not required or essential. In my video I wasn’t using it.
Lol as soon as you showed subscription page I stopped the video as I don’t have any business here anymore. Just for one game I need an internet connection, a Game pass subscription, a Navigraph subscription and now a simbox subscription? No thanks. It should have been just free for something as small as this or at best a one time purchase. Instead they are charging $29 per month to just control what you already do in the aircraft as if people have abundant disposable income. I don’t care what effort or expense they require to put this app up and running. Don’t build the app in the first place if you have to charge a subscription fee that too 29 FREAKING DOLLARS every month! It will only be worth to those who have too much disposable money to throw around.
I really like this application, recommended. Just wish the Fenix had more functionality….due to the Sdk and licence issues I believe.
I am working on something for that :). But yes the licensing is the issue.
Even in administrator mode I can’t get the fmc option. And all the other stuff doesn’t work on touchscreen monitor.
I have the simbox!!! I can't see myself without it, the staff helped me install it, I highly recommend it!
Thanks for making this video! The MCDU integration on an iPad is a lot more affordable than a physical controller costing hundreds of dollars.

How do you use the MCDU on a touchscreen? I know you can pop the screen out, but what about the bezel overlay?

Thank you for the great review. Does Simbox retain the second display settings or do you have to adjust it everytime you pop the display out?
Unfortunately you need to set it up each time, but it’s fairly quick to do so.
awesome full review !! I bought simbox today. I understand all of it.
Very helpful, thank you!
Similar but more limited than a Streamdeck using Lorby Axis and Oohs.
A cheaper solution though. Cheers for the vid.

Hi Edward, yes the app is not really designed for VR use.
Thanks! Which version are you showing, the knobless version or the knob version? I assume the knob version is for those who want physical buttons.
I really enjoy your videos. Great reviews ! Exact and to the point. Recently purchased the Loupedeck because of your thorough review.
Have you had a chance to test the knob mode? I'm wondering if it can work with a Knobster (either genuine or diy)
Dev is working on compatibility for a future update.
Mark, could this be used with Honeycomb Bravo with the knob on the autopilot on the Bravo.
Do other tablets (android) work ? I am having on going issues using any similar software - unkown why with Vankyo and Fire tablets.
MacDoo is killing me! Can't stop laughing 🤣😂

Thanks for the insight! Does this application support the 787 FMC MCDU?
Can’t seem to get the FMC to work in the a320 flybywire says FMC AND MCDU currently not supported in toolbar due to SDK limitations, any ideas ?
