    Oddly enough, seeing the struggle was one of the most useful parts of this video. Thank you so much for not sugar coating it. It gave me the confidence to go back out and wrestle my windshield wiper blades into submission and finally achieve success. Thank you so much for not editing the struggle out!! Very useful video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    Thank You! I couldn't figure it out on my own and was afraid I was going to break the plastic pieces. Your video gave me just the info I needed - Thank You. Purchased mine from the dealer for $5 each for my 06 Civic 4-door. Only thing different on my '06 Civic is I do not have the plastic caps you removed first. It looks like I have may have lost them and didn't notice, or the '06 didn't come with them. Again Thanks.

    Fyi, the the wiper housing for some civics is different in that there is a small square plastic tab that needs to be depressed near the housings mounting point in order to release the blade. square tab instructions are everywhere but if you are having trouble you may have the same style as in this video that just require you to pull the blade out.

    • @MrHuck
      @MrHuck 6 лет назад

      NotaTrollTechRUS Ok. Glad someone commented on that. My 06 has the square tab on top.

    The instruction in the book is wrong you don't squeeze the tabs you Need to pull it apart a little bit and push the cap out with out any tool

    Could you tell me where you got your replacement rubber strips from as I'm currently looking into replacing my own. I've spoke with Honda and they only sell the flexi blade not the rubber strip. I've also looked into the BOSCH A420S blades but your way seems a cheaper and better option as there's nothing wrong with my wiper mechanism, the arms, covers or caps. Could you tell me the model number of the strips you've purchased or any help at all regarding the replacement.

    Certainly agree with others who commented that it was most helpful seeing him struggle - and succeed - to get that darn cap off. With the original Honda wiper system you don't pinch the cap. The screwdriver works best.

    I had just as much trouble as this guy did to get that end cap off! And I ended up breaking the plastic part that holds the clip on. Grrrrrrr. So now I have to buy a new end cap! Seems that I read elsewhere that you have to pry the sides apart instead of pressing them together, as instructed in the manual. Well I think we all deserve free new end caps for our wipers. So I have yet to try the driver's side.....

    For anyone struggling with these like I was. What you have to do is slide them about 0.5mm forwards and then you should be able to lift them out. There’s a square section that sits in a track that gets wider if you push it forward

    Based on my experience - just chuck the Civic design wiper blades away and put in 'normal' flat blade wipers - the U type hook is the same so there is no need to struggle with the Honda refills. There is no point to the having these refill type blades as the normal flat blades that hook on are pretty much the same and the new generic type comes with it's own clips.

    • @firehawk409
      @firehawk409 5 лет назад

      No aftermarket wiper blade fits the 2006 and i think the 2007 Civic 4dr Sedan. Models after that are able to use aftermarket. So we are stuck using refills from Honda. Look it up on the civic forums.

    You don't have to removed the entire wiper if you are just replacing the blade. .. you can save more time by removing and installing the wiper blades only even it is attached to the wiper body. Removing the entire wiper is such a waste of time... it only took me 1min each blade

    • @FreeRepairGuide
      @FreeRepairGuide  10 лет назад

      That's true Leon, but I find that it is easier if you remove it. However, if you find it is easier just to leave it attached to the body, then use your method by all mean. Thanks for sharing.
