My dog couldn't speak words but he communicated w me effortlessly. One paw stomp meant I'm not moving fast enough. Two paws meant he was getting mad. Three meant trouble. He had time limits for all my activities that stole my attention from him. If I took too long in the shower, he'd push open the bathroom door and wait 3 minutes before coming into the shower. He hates baths and didn't realize that I set him up a few times intentionally taking too long so I could give him a bath. I'm so sad without him.
When I lost my dog, I was devasted. So devasted that I never got another one. A good friend told me "dog is God spelt backwards" and hearing that made my heart feel so so much better. Hearing this song still tears me up.
same for cats too. when i lost my beloved fur baby boy Puma, i thought my heart would burst. tears rolled for days..and even when the pain subsided...it still comes at times..

I was ten when this originally came out. It upset me then and now I am almost in tears. But, THANK YOU so much for doing this animated story to it. We had only one dog. A Toy Poodle who had health issues and sadly passed in 2014. He was only 8. My daughter still to this day misses him so much as he brought her out of her shell. She has a Tattoo in his likeness on her arm.
This song applies to cats also. Losing my Russian Blue was every bit as traumatizing as losing a dog. Dogs and cats don't edit. Their love is unconditional.

Kudos on your ability to move on. It's been 2 years since my pup passed and it is more painful now than when it first happened. I am realizing that he brought a light out in me that I didn't know I had. When he died, he took my light.
