Thank you. I cut the cord once and you have helped me to move back into that direction. Easily 85-90% of all I watch is on what I call the BIG 4 (NBC, CBS, ABC, & Fox) and of course good old Netflix. You may have just helped Channel Master sale another DVR+. Again thanks.
I just want to note that with digital television reception, having too much signal can be as big or bigger problem than too little signal. You can easily overload the tuners on your receiver. That is the reason that an amplified antenna won't work as well as an unamplified antenna in many areas. I always recommend trying without an amplifier first, that is unless you are a long way from the broadcast towers.
what is the name of the animated show my Grandchildren would love this show. Thanks so much for this info I am still confused about alot when it comes to cutting the cord, antenna's etc. Cable/DVR is so addicting help
I'm not sure what the show is called, sorry. The midst difficult post to cutting the cord it's the antenna. You can hire professionals to install one if you are not comfortable with it. The dvr functions very similarly to most cable boxes.
Brian Healy --Thanks for the reply. I will be in an apartment so I was thinking of the indoor antenna the "leaf" something like that. Will an indoor antenna work?
Ok thanks so so much for the response. Everything is new to me this thought of going without cable makes me anxious Lol yes I know that's bad. I also have to figure out my options for internet service. What is good speed if I may ask yet another question? I read about some ppl are buying their modems instead of renting them for comcast but my apartment contracts with AT&T I'm wondering if that is an option for me as well. Right now they have a special for internet $60 bucks but after a year they will be going up so its a plus if I can eliminate renting the modems. Sorry long winded.
I've sorta cut the cord unfortunately with FiOS its cheaper to bundle TV (and phone) with Internet than to get a "data only" plan. I just reupped my bundle and for now turned in my DVR not because of the cost but because for $17 a month the DVR STB was a useless piece of junk and I'll wait for the new Media Server to come out and see if its cost effective. For now Hulu Plus (hopefully to be replaced by Aereo soon) suffices.
Brian Healy I am actually interested. When you say you cut the cord, do you mean you removed twc completely? Or just the DVR portion? I have no experience with DVR at all, so I want to ask- how are you still getting TV shows? Antannae?
I am no longer getting paid for cable. I use Both antenna and online services like Hulu+, Netflix and Google Play. Think of all the shows you actually watch. Chances are they could be bought at the same time they are being aired. The Walking Dead is available to purchase the next day after it airs. I'm saving a ton of money by just purchasing the content I want, rather than watching a handful of shows and paying for the rest of the crap that's on TV.
Brian Healy another way I watch the shows I can't get on HULU Plus is to use my computer to play the video from the networks site than cast the laptop screen to my TV via Intel WiDi and a streaming adapter (in my case a Netgear PTV3000). Adblock Pro for Chrome also comes in handy to skip the commercials :-)
Hey Brian, I also live in the Buffalo area! How many channels are you getting with your Mohu antenna? I'm looking into the roof top model myself but it might not be necessary depending on how many you can get with the indoor model. As for the DVR, I have it narrowed down to the Channelmaster and the Tablo. I'll also be getting Roku for Netflix/Hulu. A possible solution for the Sabres games would be the NHL gamecenter app on Roku. It's about $149.00 for the year but still much less than paying for cable.
Questions? Where did you buy it? What does it cost? What does the pause/rewind/fastforward look like? How much SD time will it record without a HD? Can you edit out commercials? You know, complex questions like that, that no one would EVER want to know.
+Chris Cornish No. The CM DVR+ works off an OTA (over-the-air) antennae and pulls the channels in your locale. If you are in a major metropolitan area with lots of broadcasters you will get loads of HD channels and if you have the DVR+ setup to the Internet you can also get a bunch of channels that way too, but you won't get cable Network channels unless you subscribe to them through the available apps at an additional monthly cost.
I can't find any information on the remote; in particular, can I skip commercials or fast forward through them. Will it do that and if so, is it convenient?
You can not just push a button on the remote and skip an entire commercial, but you can fast forward through the commercials. The remote also has a skip function that allows you to skip forward or jump backward in 10-12 sec increments which is nice.
I have learned a little more about the capabilities of the DVR+ remote control. You can go into the Menu, then DVR. then DVR Setup, then Playback Setup where you can choose to Skip Forward from 10-60 seconds, or Skip Back from 10-60 seconds. Very handy.
mohu leaf didn't work for me but it's because I have a lot of obstruction (mountains, buildings) between my condo and the actual broadcast signal. I have to put an external antenna on my patio and attack a preamp to get all of the channels I want.
I have been doing a similar thing for the past two years using a TV tuner with my computer. Windows Media Center provides DVR features, along with having access to my entire video library and Netflix.
Because the PAL is discontinued and at least when I owned it years ago it was pretty buggy. Also adding space to the PAL is super difficult whereas here you just swap out with a larger portable HDD.
As a fellow buffalonian I am really hesitating because of the NHL. Is this still working out for you? I am giving some major thought to the Roamio but I am not sure if I should get the lifetime service or go with the montly service. I would expect to get at least 2 years of service from this box but one can never be too sure if the Lifetime investment is worth the cost.
I'm not entirely sure what the benefits are of Roamio. This plus a $35 dollar Chromecast gives you the same services. For NHL I use the KODI app with sportsdevil add-on and I can live stream Sabres games.
Does the DVR work with RabbitTVPlus? I know that Chromecast has just become compatible with RabbitTV as of a few days ago... I guess what I'm asking, can your record streaming video from apps off the Chromecast onto your Channelmaster DVR?
Hi are you able to set a season pass for shows when you set up to record them? Or do you have to set up your recordings each week? I do like that you can do that through Cable and Satellite TV. Thanks! Im with you on the Live local sports BTW thats the toughest part about that.
Thanks! Right now I have an amazing deal through having Direct TV and At&T cell service only $35 per month for 2 years so I'm pretty happy with that. I'm hoping in 2 years time you will be able to subscribe to Local Fox sports regional networks kinda like HBO GO or something cant live without my Wild Wolves and Twins although the Wild are currently throwing there fantastic regular season away in the playoffs. Thanks for posting the video!
Something I have been wondering. If you have 2 tuners in the DVR and one in your TV. Can you watch a show while recording 2 different shows at the same time ?
If you live in the city the amount of channels is amazing if you have a good antenna. I live in NYC and get 72 channels. It is amazing. Plus a lot of the channels I get now. I had to pay extra to get on cable. And some of these channels are antenna exclusive.
I live in NYC, on the west edge of Times Square where there's usually ghosts produced by the reflections off all the tall buildings, so I would like to know your neighborhood, and antenna type you used so I can try the same perhaps, Thanks!
Val Anna I use a mid range omni directional antenna antenna with a range of 45 miles. I live right across the east river. I live in a 7th floor apartment.
+Clifford L'Heureux From the manufacturer's website: Guide data is provided directly from broadcasters and limited when device is not connected to the Internet; Internet connection provides 14-day programming guide data
+Clifford L'Heureux Yes you can but as eet dds17 points out the tv guide provided by Rovi will not work properly and you really need to have the tv guide to find the programs you want to watch or record.
Get info and thanks for the video I'm actually going to be purchasing one of these. I live in Nashville Tennessee, and my Nashville Predators hockey team isn't doing too well either! However I'm been a bigger NFL fan and that's actually on my local networks but random idea sometimes during hockey games since I can't get them that's when I go down to the sports bar Buffalo Wild Wings, have dinner a drink and see game there. It gives me a little night out to. And since I cut the cord I can now afford to go there and have dinner on the hockey night LOL
Brian, was it difficult to get the cable company to work with you on setting up the modem you purchased since you weren't using their modem? Thanks! Ricc Havens
Mark Doud Hey Mark, how did you come across this? Long time no see:):) I'm thinking about doing it. But not being very tech savvy my only concern with doing so is if I have a problem down the road with a modem I purchase is having to wait for a replacement. I know comcast charges a monthly modem rental fee but that does give the piece of mind that they will be out to replace it probably quicker and cheaper than me having to buy another modem if the one I buy is out of warranty. I like Brian's review of the Channelmaster DVR. So I may buy one. It just never seems like we are home to watch our few favorite shows while they are on so we DVR a lot with the comcast cable service, But, if I drop comcast cable TV this DVR would allow us the opportunity to watch most of the shows we like. We will miss some on HGTV, History, etc that aren't available on the streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, etc.
There have been some added channels that are internet exclusive, I don't really care for those. As far as using it as a plain DVR and guide, internet is not required. However to get the latest software updates you will need an internet connection.
I can't get the program schedule menu to work correctly. I've called channel master regarding this issue. The problem is Rovi controls the program schedule. This could be a deal breaker. The DVR+ work great.
I've seen review comments on past channel master dvr models that had overheating and other mechanical problems. Do you have any issues with your device?
what ever Antenna you buy to do this with look at what the station in your area broadcast on there is alwast one or two that won't broadcast on uhf they use vhf and unless your antenna canget both you won't get them I use to get all 57 channels here in texas but 3 have gone to VHF and no longer can gett then now buying a clearstream v2 that has a VHF on it as well have cut the cord over 5 years ago and never looked back
For anyone wondering if the recordings can be offloaded to a computer, the answer is YES, although not an intuitive process, and only practical when the recordings are on a removable USB EHD, as the disk must be physically attached to the computer. As such, it’s impractical to do this when the recordings are on the internal HDD, if that’s the model you’re using, without an optional USB EHD. The DVR+ does not have a feature to move recordings between the internal HDD and a USB EHD, so keep that in mind. The DVR+ formats any disk attached to it using a Linux EXT4 format (be it a USB EHD, or an internal HDD). As such, the USB EHD can be connected to a Linux computer without issues. If the Mac supports EXT4 then that should work as well. For a Windows computer to assign drive letters to a Linux disk, a program like Ext2Fsd is required (it’s freeware - www.ext2fsd.com/). After attaching the USB EHD to a computer, you’ll find two partition on the disk. One contains data files, and for the average person can be ignored. The other contains the recordings in TS format. While some computer video players will play these TS recordings without issue, many cannot because some data are not included in the TS files. Passing them through a video converter, like FFmpeg (freeware - ffmpeg.org/), usually corrects this issue and the recordings will play well, and can be just a fast as copying the files (depending on parameters used). Another issue is identifying the recording you’re looking for. That’s because the filenames are all 8 characters (plus the TS extension), and in no way reveal the title of the recordings. In addition, the date stamps on the recordings do not match the date or time that the recording was made (wildly inaccurate). That means you either must play each recording until you find those you want, peek inside the data files, with a “.log” extension, to view the show title and description, or if on a Windows computer, download a freeware program named “DVR+ Lister” from AVS Forum (www.avsforum.com/forum/42-hdtv-recorders/2039802-dvr-lister-channel-master-dvr.html). DVR+ Lister will identify the recordings by show title, recording date, and show description. Just select the recordings you want to copy to Windows, and click one button. The files will be given the name of the show. Or, DVR+ Lister can send the selected recordings through FFmpeg, or HandBrake CLI, for you, and still name the files with the show name. Another AVS Forum thread, which is all about the DVR+, is www.avsforum.com/forum/42-hdtv-recorders/1481183-channel-master-dvr-owners-thread.html. It a huge thread, but with tons of information.
+DP2050 if you want to record your tv programs you need to buy a separate hard drive. You can buy one from CM or find one on Amazon or any place else of your choosing. I bought 4 CM DVR+ for all my TV's and then bought the a 2 TB Seagate hard drive for each of the CM DVR+ from Amazon.com for around $130. You will also need an antennae and I recommend the FLATennae from CM for $10 if you want supper low profile or you can buy any antennae of your choosing and even put the "christmas tree" type in you attic or on your roof if you choose.
Would you know if a Roku 3 box can be set up through the Channel master box or does it have to be connected on it's own input on the tv? In other words would you have to change the input on a remote to go between the Channel master box and the Roku 3 box in order to get HULU+?
This question has been on here since May 29th 2014 and today is December 3, 2014 and still no response. Makes a person wonder what channel master customer service / support would be like if you bought there product !!!
To my knowledge, this needs it's own input. Also, I sometimes do not get notified of comments on my videos. If this happens, the only way I see them is to scroll down too see whats new.
You say that you can record 2 programs and watch a live program'at the same time how ? Maybe by using a splutter one going to the box & one going to TV ? Can i go on the internet & watch my recorded programs remote (away from home) ? Does in remember my favorite programs like a cable recorder does ? Can i skip commercials or fast forward them ? If the Chanelmaster + doesn't do this what would you recommend for me to buy ?
it is a dual tuner, so you can record and watch simultaneously. you can not save your recordings and watch them off the internet. You can fast forward past commercials. You can also set your recordings in advance, that includes having it record the entire series.
i got a channelmaster dvr about 2.5 weeks ago.I frist put a 128 g flasch drive on it. yes i could watch a recorded program while recording 2 program . BUT it would skip about a second about every 15 or 20 seconds. no big problem. then i put a 500 gig wd on it worked prefect then. recording 2 and watching 1 recording. im very happy with it.
Hey Brian Healy would the DVR+ work with most Cable providers like Optimum and Verizon? Is there an option to receive channels like Nick, Disney, HGTV, AMC, USA, TLC, etc... ? I'm interested in purchasing this if it can replace my Cable Providers set top Box.
If you pick up a Roku for $50-100 you can get NHL Game center for $25-50 per year. I see comments from a guy below about not getting some games so I may have to look into those details before I spring. Just a heads-up though.
if you get an ourdoor antenna you wont get any pixellation and more channels, also good outdoor ones are garuanteed to last alot longer then an indoor one. Good video though
I'm late to watching this and while Vudu is owned by Walmart, it's still a decent service especially when you consider it does give you access to any Ultraviolet catalog you might have. I'm not sure if Walmart still does this, but when I signed up, it gave me a horrible selection of movies to choose from to get 10 movies to start my collection. I wish I was only able to pick 4, because there are 6 in I never want to watch.
cool trick in stead of using a booster, put a spliter and T off with another antenna i used a 99 cent store rabbit ear and it doubled my signal strength
That's not what you did. A splitter can lower the noise on near channels coming in too strong (thus interfering w/ adjacent signal quality) -- it doesn't "combine" multiple ant. sources into one. For that you need a coupler
Contrary to Channel Master's claim that DVR+ offers best-quality picture, in my judgement it's a great-looking picture, though slightly fuzzier than on either of my older HD tuners. In any case, PQ aside, there a lots of things CM needs to fix to make DVR+ a truly good alternative to TiVo (I'm just guessing, as I've never owned a TiVo).
Just wanted to let you know that msg now has a app for your smartphone to watch the Sabres. I use my phone and cast it on my smart tv. The app is called msg go. Nice video 👍.
These are on backorder and I want one. I have a few questions? Does it it output dolby digital while watching live tv? Does it record dolby audio? Does it take away from the picture quality while watching with this? I ask because I returned the magnavox pos dvr that had these issues.
Only certain channels output in dolby digital. I do get full 5.1 surround sound when using this. Picture quality is not affected at all while using this.
I have 3 CM DVR+ so I can get the HD OTA channels but I also subscribe to Netflix for $10 a month starting in May 2016 and I am also an Amazon Prime member for the free shipping and get all the Amazon video content too (need to purchase an Amazon Fire Stick or Amazon Fire TV device). When I got a notice that I would not longer be able to use my LG Blu-ray player to access Amazon videos they gave me a $30 credit and I ended up paying $4 for the Amazon Fire Stick (plugs into one the available HDMI connectors on your TV). Discounting the sunk cost of the CM DVR+, External Hard Drive, and Antennae I spend $41 per month for Road Runner cable, $10 a month for Netflix, and another $9 a month for Amazon Prime for a total monthly expense of $60 as compared to $140 per month that I was paying for TWC (Comcast) cable TV & Internet Service. So I figure I am saving about $80 a month not having TWC cable TV service or almost $1,000 per year. All 3 of my CM DVR+ and hard drives and antennae cost about $1,000 so after the first year my hardware is paid off and I am banking the bucks. I wish I could have done this years ago but CM didn't have their DVR+ on the market.
Re. Vudu and streaming channels on DVR+: They've since added Pandora, with RUclips coming next. But, in the opinion of many users, CM should not bother with streaming channels and instead focus on fixing everything that's wrong with DVR+. And with this, I wholly agree!
I still don't get why people pay for cable or satellite when 90% of channels have advertising every 10 minutes. I might get a ematic USB DVR that channel master looks nice I like the guide on there just like the cable or satellite guide but you don't have to pay for DVR and channels
Never rent equipment always buy outright. OTA is the only way to go. Let others drown in monthy cable/dish costs watching stupid mindless tv shows. You can complain about the crappy TV you're paying for OR... You can complain about the TV you're NOT paying for. I prefer the latter.
I use my laptop through hdmi to stream everything I watch. Considering through my family's time Warner account I get hbogo and watchespn.com plus the fact that I subscribe to hulu and Netflix plus the sports channel I found that plays all games nfl nhl mlb nba boXing etc combined with network tv websites I pretty much have cable for just the cost of netflixs and hulu. Streaming works great in my area tethered to my phones unlimited plan through Verizon. I save a ton of money on cable and internet. The only thing I miss is the local news. I had an antenna before that broke over a year ago. I may get a cheap one just for the local news.
if you google the name of your local news program, you can probably get the correct webpage to watch the news cast on line. Most networks let you watch most newscasts along with weather during the newscast - online, but only during the exact time it is being broadcast live, you can not watch a replay of the entire newscast later.
Droidstreamtv would have been your best bet. You can get ALL the networks and FREE Hockey games and tv series and movies. The box itself costs $185 and there's ZERO CONTRACTS and it's FREE FOREVER!!!!!!
Great video.
Just canceled my TWC this weekend when I got my Channelmaster DVR+. Even with still paying for internet I'm saving over $70 a month!
glad I could help

what kinda storage does DTV genie have?
How's is the seasons pass option? Does it record multiple copies of the show or will it record only new episodes?
Why should I buy Channelmaster DVR+ vs CM-7000PAL?
Because the PAL is discontinued and at least when I owned it years ago it was pretty buggy. Also adding space to the PAL is super difficult whereas here you just swap out with a larger portable HDD.

Does the DVR work with RabbitTVPlus? I know that Chromecast has just become compatible with RabbitTV as of a few days ago...
I guess what I'm asking, can your record streaming video from apps off the Chromecast onto your Channelmaster DVR?
no, this simply records OTA channels through an antenna.
What's the point in buying a DVR that requires you to purchase more storage space, because the DVR doesn't have enough?
I agree that their should be more on board storage, but an external hard drive is a small price to pay for what you get.

nope
How much is the DVR by it self
Thomas Morgan I think it was $250
Do you need HDMI for this? Thank you and Happy New Year.

Thank you.
Can't you sign up for a service like NHL Centre Ice in the U.S.?
No
Can you record and sync the media to Plex with this?
No, unfortunatley

One per tv
thank you so much for all your tips...so helpful

how many shows can you record
2
where do you get the box?
link is in the description
Can you hook up any size hard drive and is it a specific hard drive you can use
I believe any external HD will work.
witch one are you using on the TV? this it have cartoon network and stuff like that?

+Clifford L'Heureux Yes you can but as eet dds17 points out the tv guide provided by Rovi will not work properly and you really need to have the tv guide to find the programs you want to watch or record.
Brian does this just work with an antenna or can you use it with cable?
antenna only
will any external hard drive work.
I can't guarantee that all external drives will work. I use a 500gb Seagate SSD
+Brian Healy i have a 500 gb wd passport which works on my windows computer. you keep your internet connection through you cable company.
+Gilbert Rhodes yes I only pay for internet through my cable company.
Thanks!
Ricc Havens
Ricc Havens No, it was easy. You just need to call them to set it up.
You thinking of doing this?

Brian Healy Thanks Brian!
Ricc Havens the cost of a modem will be made up in less than one year of not paying a rental fee.
Cuestión?
If internet needed?
There have been some added channels that are internet exclusive, I don't really care for those. As far as using it as a plain DVR and guide, internet is not required. However to get the latest software updates you will need an internet connection.
Very nice presentation Thank you
I can't get the program schedule menu to work correctly. I've called channel master regarding this issue. The problem is Rovi controls the program schedule. This could be a deal breaker. The DVR+ work great.
u can allsome use on cable too
I've seen review comments on past channel master dvr models that had overheating and other mechanical problems. Do you have any issues with your device?
No, mine runs great.
I've read numerous reports stating that the current model gets warm but not hot. I think I can confirm this.
what ever Antenna you buy to do this with look at what the station in your area broadcast on there is alwast one or two that won't broadcast on uhf they use vhf and unless your antenna canget both you won't get them I use to get all 57 channels here in texas but 3 have gone to VHF and no longer can gett then now buying a clearstream v2 that has a VHF on it as well have cut the cord over 5 years ago and never looked back
For anyone wondering if the recordings can be
offloaded to a computer, the answer is YES, although not an intuitive process,
and only practical when the recordings are on a removable USB EHD, as the disk
must be physically attached to the computer. As such, it’s impractical to do
this when the recordings are on the internal HDD, if that’s the model you’re
using, without an optional USB EHD. The DVR+ does not have a feature to move
recordings between the internal HDD and a USB EHD, so keep that in
mind.
The DVR+ formats any disk attached to it using a Linux EXT4 format
(be it a USB EHD, or an internal HDD). As such, the USB EHD can be connected to
a Linux computer without issues. If the Mac supports EXT4 then that should work
as well. For a Windows computer to assign drive letters to a Linux disk, a
program like Ext2Fsd is required (it’s freeware -
www.ext2fsd.com/).
After attaching the USB EHD to a computer,
you’ll find two partition on the disk. One contains data files, and for the
average person can be ignored. The other contains the recordings in TS format.
While some computer video players will play these TS recordings without issue,
many cannot because some data are not included in the TS files. Passing them
through a video converter, like FFmpeg (freeware - ffmpeg.org/), usually
corrects this issue and the recordings will play well, and can be just a fast as
copying the files (depending on parameters used).
Another issue is
identifying the recording you’re looking for. That’s because the filenames are
all 8 characters (plus the TS extension), and in no way reveal the title of the
recordings. In addition, the date stamps on the recordings do not match the date
or time that the recording was made (wildly inaccurate). That means you either
must play each recording until you find those you want, peek inside the data
files, with a “.log” extension, to view the show title and description, or if on
a Windows computer, download a freeware program named “DVR+ Lister” from AVS
Forum
(www.avsforum.com/forum/42-hdtv-recorders/2039802-dvr-lister-channel-master-dvr.html).
DVR+ Lister will identify the recordings by show title, recording date, and show
description. Just select the recordings you want to copy to Windows, and click
one button. The files will be given the name of the show. Or, DVR+ Lister can
send the selected recordings through FFmpeg, or HandBrake CLI, for you, and
still name the files with the show name.
Another AVS Forum thread, which
is all about the DVR+, is
www.avsforum.com/forum/42-hdtv-recorders/1481183-channel-master-dvr-owners-thread.html.
It a huge thread, but with tons of information.
Does it include a hard drive/ssd inside? or doe sit require a separate external HDD?
+DP2050 if you want to record your tv programs you need to buy a separate hard drive. You can buy one from CM or find one on Amazon or any place else of your choosing. I bought 4 CM DVR+ for all my TV's and then bought the a 2 TB Seagate hard drive for each of the CM DVR+ from Amazon.com for around $130. You will also need an antennae and I recommend the FLATennae from CM for $10 if you want supper low profile or you can buy any antennae of your choosing and even put the "christmas tree" type in you attic or on your roof if you choose.
Does the external hard drive allow you to record shows to it? Or, is that just a way to move files from your computer to your tv??
The external HD is where all my recorded shows go
I just wanted to add that the programs that are recorded on the external HD are coded for the DVR+ only and you can not watch them on your computer.
+smfitztx There are programs that will allow you to watch recorded shows on your computer now.
Hi, can you buy PPV fights?
no, this is for ota only.
Can you use wifi to hook it up to the internet?
yes, there is an optional wifi dongle
One reviewer got a "dongle" elsewhere rather than pay something like $50 for the Ch. Master one. It worked fine, so shop around.
Wow, Thanks Gregory
+Brian Healy with the wify does it get goood channels like cable channels like Espn for example please respond
Tony Jimenez there are no WiFi channels for cable.
i got a channelmaster dvr about 2.5 weeks ago.I frist put a 128 g flasch drive on it. yes i could watch a recorded program while recording 2 program . BUT it would skip about a second about every 15 or 20 seconds. no big problem. then i put a 500 gig wd on it worked prefect then. recording 2 and watching 1 recording. im very happy with it.
Are there service fee's
Nope
So all I need is internet and that's all ?
you will need an antenna for local channels
Thanks for your help.
Man that kids show looked terrifying
For the record, my Mohu did the same. with the amplifier I didn't get any signals. without the amplifier I got 34 channels.
I don't believe this will work with cable providers.
Thank you for answering my question
If you pick up a Roku for $50-100 you can get NHL Game center for $25-50 per year. I see comments from a guy below about not getting some games so I may have to look into those details before I spring. Just a heads-up though.
NHL Gamecenter blocks local games
if you get an ourdoor antenna you wont get any pixellation and more channels, also good outdoor ones are garuanteed to last alot longer then an indoor one. Good video though
I did get an outdoor antenna eventually. The difference is huge.
Brian Healy
oh ok and yes the difference is huge, thanks for responding!
Great video
Can I get usa channel
Contrary to Channel Master's claim that DVR+ offers best-quality picture, in my judgement it's a great-looking picture, though slightly fuzzier than on either of my older HD tuners. In any case, PQ aside, there a lots of things CM needs to fix to make DVR+ a truly good alternative to TiVo (I'm just guessing, as I've never owned a TiVo).
I'm not sure what you mean. What do they need to fix?
Brian Healy
Too many things to mention. If you've used it extensively, you should have a pretty good idea of what I mean.
SF Videos I use it on a daily basis and haven't run into any issues with it. What problems are you running into?
how much is the whole series of Simpsons, Rugrats, Futurama, South Park, Tosh.0, Ridiculousness and Family Guy
Chris Cornish Just go on prime wire
marcus DOMO MAN huh?
Just wanted to let you know that msg now has a app for your smartphone to watch the Sabres. I use my phone and cast it on my smart tv. The app is called msg go. Nice video 👍.
These are on backorder and I want one. I have a few questions? Does it it output dolby digital while watching live tv? Does it record dolby audio? Does it take away from the picture quality while watching with this? I ask because I returned the magnavox pos dvr that had these issues.
Only certain channels output in dolby digital. I do get full 5.1 surround sound when using this. Picture quality is not affected at all while using this.
Good deal thanks
8:24 nice
VUDU now has free movies with ads. If you can set through a couple 30 second ads every 25 minutes are so it's not a bad thing.
Can you use / connect a DVD player with this?
You can't connect another device. It's only a DVR.
Also Apple TV has NHL (I think)
so you can drop all cable tv channels and just get the internet.
yes
Never rent equipment always buy outright. OTA is the only way to go. Let others drown in monthy cable/dish costs watching stupid mindless tv shows.
You can complain about the crappy TV you're paying for OR...
You can complain about the TV you're NOT paying for.
I prefer the latter.
Well by the time this video was posted you saved $10000 mabe a little more or less
XBMC and add on sports devil
same with mine
2015 MARCH
Can you send a link to me for hard drive cnet mentions fee to download?
can you clearify this....great video
Droidstreamtv would have been your best bet. You can get ALL the networks and FREE Hockey games and tv series and movies. The box itself costs $185 and there's ZERO CONTRACTS and it's FREE FOREVER!!!!!!
