Good evening Jorgen. I hardly ever see Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton singles. The Gene Krupa single was mega cool. Super photo. Excellent showing Brother J. Bring on part two. Enjoy your Sunday~ Rob/Boston

Hi Brother R - it is interesting that Goodman-singles seems to be so hard to find there, as the number of singles by Benny shows that it is very easy to find them here. ;) Part 2 will be up soon. I have a contest respons to do first. Thanks for watching and take care! :)
hi jorgen, this part 1 of your jazz and EPs collection is super as well, more big band but great artists and attractive picture covers. i have to start looking harder for some of these singles and EPs because they all look awesome! thanks for sharing and showing all these gems! take care, rob

Hi Rob, good luck with finding them. Thanks for watching and take care! :)
I don't know how you can keep track of your collection, it seems to be everywhere! I had to go off and listen to Count Basie's The Midgets. What the heck could that be about?? But you know what? It shwings!

Hi Doc - actually the jazz singles and the recent findings are the only one on the floor right now. The rest are in shelves around the rooms. But with the records in the database, a good memory and good genre sorting i have pretty good knowledge about everything. "The midgets" is an unusual song, with Basie almost going in to the bebop-style in that one. But indeed, it shwings! :) Thanks for watching and take care! :)
I checked out Whirly bird by Basie, I like it, sounds like a tv program theme from long ago, danceable too like a fast swing. I know a lot of jazz tunes without really knowing what it is too. I got a jazz tune on my mind now but I have no idea what it is but I like it and I think it is something famous. I also know a few titles of Jazz songs, like take the a train for example. I checked out After you've gone by Goodman too. I don't recall that one, but I have probably heard a lot of jazz from various movies and tv shows. I checked out Quincy's home again, but so far I think Count Basie hit most home for me. I checked out the songs on Artie Shaw Gramercy five album, I liked Scuttlebutt. Somehow it reminds me of the Olsen Banden movies. I actually like the Danish originals best and then the Swedish ones and Norwegian last. I know the song Smoke gets in your eyes from before, maybe thanks to Bryan Ferry.
That melody I had on my mind was much closer than I thought. It was The kid from red bank by Count Basie. I knew it from a radio series in my country. But I had to search a while before I found it. I really like that song. But I had no idea what it was or who it was. But I was very close to finding it when checking out Whirly bird. I didn't realise that I was actually a Count Basie fan. One learn something new every day, or every time I watch one of your videos.
All this Jazz takes my mind back to more contemporary songs but maybe on the smoother side like; The Milky Way La Costa, Ballade Dra Med Krøderbanen, Jon Eberson Group Jive Talking, Paul McCartney Heart Of The Country, Caravan Aristocracy, George Harrison Learning How To Love You, Elton John Give Me The Love, King Crimson Lizard Prince Rupert Awakes, Barry Manilow London, Makoto Matsushita Lazy Night, Vangelis Le singe bleu, Lillebjørn Nilsen Crescendo I Gågata, Toto Don't Stop Me Now, Dire Straits Your latest trick, Level 42 Love meeting love, Elvis Presley This is our dance, Ole G Nilssen Chained to the past, 10cc Iceberg, Phil Collins This must be love. I might just buy that Atomic Count Basie. I get the impression you might like more uptempo jazz. I guess myself is more of easy listening and dreamy music. I also tend to find my jazz in other places than pure jazz.

Hi Kopp - Actually "Whirly bird" were a theme for a TV-show, at least here in Sweden. It was the legendary theme for many years to a program about technical stuff and science called "Tekniskt magasin". Artie Shaws Gramercy Five-recordings are really amazing. The play so tight together and they dare to do something different every now and then, such as the use of a cembalo sometimes. I like downtempo jazz also, not doubt. A good and relaxing jazzballad is never wrong! I have mixed feelings about easy listening tough, there are amazing easy listening, i love Edmundo Ros and i love easy listening with hammond organ, but i have hard time listening to James Last, Bert Kaempfert and those kind of german bands. Thanks for watching and take care! :)
@ When I am not logged in this video shows no likes. And when I'm logged in then this video shows my own like. So there is maybe something wrong with youtube. I am sure at least all who commented liked, and probably others too. I checked out several songs by Edmundo Ros but it didn't seem to be anything for me. But I love recommendations because one never knows when something grabs. I remember that my parents had some hammond organ tapes when I was young. Actually I don't remember them playing any of their music. It was mostly just me playing everybodys music. There were a lot of music in the house but it was mostly just myself who was interested in music. I think they bought a lot of music when they travelled and worked on ships in foreign continents before my time. I know of Bert Kaempfert and James Last but they never did anything for me. I remember there were some James Last music also when growing up. I don't remember if you made any video about music that you grew up with. It's always fun to recall how a music interest got formed. I checked out Tekniskt magasin. We only had one TV channel up to 1992 when we got a second TV channel. I guess some also had Swedish 1 and 2 if they had kabel or satellite. I've lived without TV for over a decade now and I don't miss it.

@@kopptue9622 RUclips always have some problems going in, right now there are zero likes, but most important are the connection with other music lovers so these comments are very important and great. But i check on RUclips and their eventual problems every now and then. I have mentioned about my music when growing up every now and then, as numourus contests, vinyl tags and threads have those subjects, but i think the most of the stuff are being said in my introducion video seven years ago.
