The Mythers will look directly at the sources I had in the video and blatantly deny them. I remember Richard Carrier just saying it didn't matter if there isn't a direct connection, because apparently he thinks correlation = causation.

The burden of proof is always on the one making the assertion/accusation. The mistake Christians often make is immediately getting on the defensive. Never fall for that game! The non-Christian making the assertion needs to first prove his claim. You don't have to (nor can you!) disprove something that wasn't first proven.
Yes! Agreed. However, I think that most people encounter Mythicism online and aren't able to have a productive conversation where they ask for sources.
I know of people who have had their faith shaken by bold assertions like this, so it's still good to address.

People also say that Jesus was based on Mithra, Dionysius, Apollo, Hermes, Horus, and Dushara. There's also the Saoshyant of Zoroastrianism.

The counter-argument on resurrection is a bad one. It is said (with some accuracy, although this needs to be put into perspective since Osiris has been linked to vegetation) that Osiris does not follow the pattern of the "dying-and-rising" god - but neither does Jesus. This dying-and-rising consists of a periodic death and resurrection, provoking or symbolizing the cycles of nature, the seasons in particular. We have Tammuz, Attis, Persephone and so on. There's nothing like it with Jesus, who dies once and resurrects once, like Osiris. Osiris is very similar to Jesus in this respect, and to deny it ruins the rest of the demonstration.

@@JulianGentry well... seeing as "sin" is a idea made up to justify God's wrath I'm gunna go with nothing! I don't need the promise of heaven or the threat of hell, I just do good for no reason other than I can no God required! I find it sad people like you NEED God to be good or forgive you of nebulous "sins" instead of just... living life and not hurt or harm others
So, if there's no sin, people like Hitler who did evil and then killed himself don't actually get justice. They just get away scot-free. I'd rather live in a world where evil gets just punishment.
