    I enjoy videos like this. I don't have a favorite Spydie because I don't own any Spydies. But it's always nice to see what people like about them.

      If you're curious about Spydies maybe you should try out a Ganzo F759M. It's a $12 clone of the Byrd Meadowlark, which is in itself almost a clone of (and imho designwise an improvement on) the Delica.
      If you like that one, then you'll love the real thing (although I have to say that between the Ganzo and my Native 5LW both Meadowlark and Delica seem obsolete to me, but then Spyderco has enough to choose from that absolutely everyone could find at least one Spyderco to their liking).

    Bought a Shaman in January & haven't carried it. I'm taking it back on Friday when I go to ChyWy. Right now my favorite Spyderco is the SpydieChef.

    Spydiechef is my favorite as well. Unfortunately mine will not come apart. One pivot screw won't budge. It is a knock on mine, but I love the knife design and steel.

    I have more Spydercos than any other brand. Almost universally Spydercos have fantastic ergonomics. Chaparral was my Event Horizon - the knife that pulled me inexorably toward the black hole of knife collection. Have 4 Manix2s, Cru-Wear, S110V, Maxamet, and M390. Love 'em. 4 Delicas as well, Cru-Wear, M390, SG2, and VG10. Carry them more than the Manix2s. My most carried are a trio of 5th pocket knives, Cat, Crow, and Lil Native. No matter what else I carry, I am likely to have one of those 3 with me as well.

      @SliceyDicey  5 лет назад +1

      I have sixteen Spydercos, about 8-10 KAI (ZT and Kershaw), four Benchmade, Steel Will and We/Civivi and everything is just one or two.

    • @Abby_Normal_1969
      @Abby_Normal_1969 5 лет назад

      @@SliceyDicey - I had to consult my spread sheet, 22 Spydercos and 4 Byrds. If it is Spyderco or the Field, Field wins. And if Iist my top 10, Spydercos has only 2 slots. And yet, when I look at Blade HQ, Knife Center, DLT Trading, St. Nick's, for some reason I always go to Spyderco first. I am far too pragmatic for this to be mere brand loyalty. Spydercos just tend to be excellent. If you like, I can send you my spreadsheet and if there is something you would like to check out, I can sent if your way.

  • @speedwolf5212
    @speedwolf5212 5 лет назад

    Cool thing about Spydercos is that there’s so many different models with slight ergonomic variations, there really is something for everyone. The steel options is icing on the cake. My favorite is probably the Delica(Cruwear & Hap40 Wharncliffe). And I completely agree with you on the peel-ply CF, that stuff is awesome. Great grip & a few grams lighter than standard G-10.
    My next Spyderco to buy is probably a fully serrated Native 5 Salt. LC200N is pretty wicked-Full serrated LC200N should cut like a demon.

    I've only been seriously collecting EDC type knives for 6 months or so. But many years ago before I started seriously collecting I bought a Spyderco Endura 4 SS. I still have that knife and it's a bit heavy but I EDC it a lot. Latest purchase was a Yojimbo 2-- I actually love it but not really EDC type. Cannot believe out of the 12 or so Spydercos I own, I don't have a PM2 or Manix 2-- I need both-- and possibly the S110V versions. Also seriously thinking of getting a Spydiechef. Thanks for the presentation.

    Domino and dice are ergonomic dreams for me. Kapara and chef are way up there for me too in favourites. Para 3 with Aramis scales just makes it a whole new knife. But the Paysan with a deep carry long mxg clip is #1.

    Nice video. I have a ton of Spydercos never thought about ranking them. It’d be cool if you did it with other brands that you have a considerable amount of. Being I own or have owned almost every knife you mentioned it makes me think I am missing out by not having tried a spydie chef and here I thought I was done collecting.

    I was excited about the Native Chief, but by the time it came out and I got it in-hand, I felt no need to buy one... probably because by then I had a TRM Atom. That could be an interesting battle-to-the-death, even if the Chief comes in as an underdog.

    It's funny, but I love my Cruwear Manix 2, and I doubt I'll ever sell it, but I find myself carrying my 52100 grey/black one far more often. I love the grey with black and the 52100 really is a good steel. Not Cruwear great, but it does just fine. I think I just like the way it looks better. Either way though, the Manix is my favorite Spyderco out of the 10 I still own, although the Shaman is a very close 2nd.

      Probably my most drop-shutty knife is an almost 40 y/o Buck 525+🤔 Drop-shuttiness doesn't really mean much to me (other than maybe not wanting to lend that blade to someone else - if it's anything larger than a Buck 525+ - for fear of seeing them cut themselves).
