    Thank you, Joanne. I am thrilled about Fleece. I never sewn this Fabric. I also want to know what foot is right on my Brother Sewing Machine? I am grateful for the information and the Tutorial.

    This is a Joanne Banko video so you know it will be great! If you ever have the opportunity to meet her you will find that if you think she seems nice on video she is even more nice in person.
    One thing I would possibly do differently is use my cover stitch machine instead of top stitching for some of the finishing.

    I have never sewn fleece but, of course, have worn it. This jacket is just what I like and will try this pattern. Would it create too many issues to line it for ease of putting it on and taking off?

    • @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko
      @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko 5 лет назад

      Hi Nana! Very good question. I think you would be better off leaving it unlined it you are using fleece. I say this for a couple reasons. First, remember that polar fleece stretches so it's alot like wearing a sweater. You would lose that feature if it's lined. Also, pressing is an issue and I think it would be hard to construct a jacket made from fleece but lined with tradtional lining. You could also consider just lining the sleeves. There wouldn't be much pressing involved with that. Hope this helps!

    Can I make this jacket using the Luxe Fleece sold at Joann Fabrics? Or, what is considered polar fleece?

    • @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko
      @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko 5 лет назад +1

      Hi Angela! Polar type fleece is a generic term for the standard type fleece you find in big box stores. The luxe fleece would work fine for this jacket. Take a look at the directions I wrote to go with this jacket. You may want to trim the collar a bit like I did.

    Do you like your brother machine? Wanting to purchase a machine for garments and embroidery. No quilting. Is this the machine for me?

    • @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko
      @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko 5 лет назад +2

      Hi Dimples 73! I love my Brother machine for both garment sewing and embroidery. You'll find a variety of models to choose from. I would suggest you take a test drive at your local dealer and bring some fabrics you commonly sew on to run through the machine. In my opinion WHERE you buy is as important as WHAT you buy. A good dealer will provide guide lessons so you can make the most of your machine.

    What about if you have a regular saw machine?! How do you do to make the fabric run like a butter?!

    • @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko
      @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko 5 лет назад

      Hi Liliana! A standard sewing machine will work fine for the fleece. I would recommend a closed toe walking foot to help with the feeding of the fabric. You'll find that a walking foot is good for sewing many different kinds of fabrics.

      Let's Go Sew with Joanne Banko Thank you. 🙏🏼 And sorry for ask what is a close toe walking foot?! Or where can I get it?! Or these come with the standard saw machine ?

    • @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko
      @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko 5 лет назад

      Hi@@LILIREYESMX! A walking foot is also known as an even feed foot. If you have a local sewing machine shop nearby I would try them first. You could also do online search for walking foot for sewing machine. Most of them have a closed toe which means there is more support via a metal bar built into the foot for the area where the stitch forms. Open toe varieties are used for more decorative applications. Also, it's very important to get one that matches you machine brand and type. In general, there are low shank (most common), high shank, and slant shank machines. Since this foot screws onto the machine you need one that matches your current shank. I have a tip sheet with more info on this foot on my website. You can take a look if you like: www.letsgosew.com/fancy-footwork-tipsheet---about-the-walking-foot.html

    Is the weight amount on the package roll

    • @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko
      @LetsGoSewwithJoanneBanko 5 лет назад

      Hi Sonya, Fabric from Mill Direct should include the weight for poloar type fleece. I have found that most standard fleece in the big box fabric stores is close to 200 weight, which is pretty much a medium weight.

    Made a fleece coat. The electricity gets so high that I get a shock every time I touch something while wearing fleece. Ah well. I learned from this.
