@@theycallmeheat hello. the following statements are not easy for me to write, because i fear they will be misunderstood. if a "producer" needs to be TAUGHT how to make boom-bap beats, they just don't have what it takes. it's engrained, it can't be learned. second, making beats while staring at a large computer screen means you're making beats with your eyes. the computer tells you where & how to place everything... no, no, no. ears, fingers, heart, brain, & soul should come before putting a puzzle together on a screen larger than the ones provided on 90's samplers. third, how many phony ass rookies are going to whip up decent beats because you divulged a generic recipe? if they can't do it on their own, through a normal learning process, like experimentation & trial by error, are they tru skool hedz down for the culture? or culture vultures seeking shortcuts? no personal offense intended, i'm just sick of all these tutorials telling kids with fancy gear that they can be the next preemo.

Nah, it’s a setting or feature on my midi controller. It’s an Akai thing, it’s on all the MPC units as well. But your controller should he velocity sensitive, somewhat similar to 16 levels. Just have to hit your keys softer for the lower volumes. Hope this helps 💯💯

Highlight the note and hold shift then press any arrow key left or right. Be sure that snap is set to (none)
When u say u move the hat and snare notches, how so exactly and what grid setting are u on? Thanks ✊🏾
great question..
Yep, I have my snap set to (none) so that your notes will move freely when you nudge them over.

@lawrenceboardjr.8509 hold shift and use the left and right arrow button. You can use that on any snap setting. But set to none to move freely

what heat saying when he says 6 and 14, cant be when the bars a cut 1/4 and shit coz thatll be way off, what he mean?
