The car was absolutely Beautiful! I loved it. For me it would have been hard to let it go. But, yeah. It’s someone else’s car. It really a a beautiful way to slightly update a cars appearance and still giving a nod to the old way. Enjoyable. Thanks.
Very well done! I hope you were compensated adequately. It’s the reverse now. Back when As were made labor was cheap and materials difficult to afford. Now it’s the opposite. Well, kinda. Looking forward to the next one!
That car is beautiful. You've done a great job. In regards to the pinstripe. In the early 80s I was a driver, detailer for Jaguar/Rover dealer in Sydney, Australia. One day I drove the bosses parents out to see some of the new Jaguars just off the boat. They'd always driven Mercedes and Tony was keen to get them into a Jag. Their first comment was a dislike of the pinstripe that sat in much the same place as on this model A. I explained that it stood out because of the dust from travel and showed them the bosses car. I realised then that the pinstripe is not there to see so much as it is to break up the single colour by providing a fine, just visible line that tricks the eyes into believing the colour is not just a large blob of x coloured paint.
I watched all 7 hoping to sort out our problem with our 1929 Fordor - no locks inside doors. Wondering what's supposed to under there and how to fix the problem. Nice videos - like your style.
Excellent series! Thanks for all the detailed videos. Your skills, knowledge and careful explanations are greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all you do...
Nice work. I totally understand how much work it is and shooting videos almost doubles the time to get the job done. Very inspirational, I hope you consider keeping it up!
Thanks for a great series. Few others will even look at an old car when painting is needed. At my age now, it would come out looking like a two year old using a rattle can. Most people are afraid to try painting, enterior work, or even mechanical things. Few are close to as good as you. Teling about the minor problems and the cures shows that something can always go wrong, no matter how careful you are. I'll be watching for your next project.
That's a great looking car, good job! Thanks for taking us along on the journey, and thanks for the super dynamic presentations. 😉 Your videos are great!
I've been following you for some time. Most of your videos I've watched several times. You do really good work. I have a 29 Fordoor that I'd like to see if you'd be interested in restoring. Please let me know. Thank you. Robert
Although not a car expert myself, but you did a very good job on the car. With all the attention you've given this car, I'm sure many people would trust their treasured vehicles to your care. Thank you for this interesting series, I was always looking forward to the next part. Even though you experienced hard times while working on it, I hope you enjoyed the process overall.
Impressive restore! Without the old condenser to hold it, the ignition plate often gets pressed against the distributor body by the ignition cable plunger.
Pinstriping.....simple, 'No GUTS, No GLORY' You did a great job! btw....the brush is know as a 'Sword Tail Brush' I like your 'get it done' attitude. I'm no one special however I did have some 'words of wisdom' imparted to me from a gent by the name of Dick (Richard) Marcinko (founder of Navy Seal Team 6) that I often quote as I do my 'craft' Here you go...."never let 'BEST' be the enemy of GOOD" Bottom line. You striped it, it looks very nice, good job....(again)
Bravo! You do excellent work. Thank you for taking the time to document it all. How about making a video of the truck that's sitting behind you???? I've got a '30 Closed Cab & always like to look at a nice Model "A" pickup.....
As a upholsterer I'm surprised that you don't have a gimp tack hammer. I've done some new upholstery and that hammer came in real handy with installing gimp tacks.
What a fantastic job you did on this car! I'm a total stock nerd, but can also appreciate the owner's choice to slightly modernize here. What part of the country are you in? I'm in my early 30s and have wanted to get a Model A since I was in high school. Just don't know anyone with the skills you possess to restore one. P.S. I'm also a full-time railroader, so liked your big boy shirt and the occasional background horns in the last video in this series!
Thank you very much. I'm in the Los Angeles area. I'd recommend starting by finding a MAFCA chapter near you. The members are usually good with sharing tech information. Yep, I'm also a rail fan sometimes. I also have a small collection of model trains too.
Hey Charlie, is there anyway I could contact you? I bought a model a recently and would love a few pointers on it as i am still learning. I believe I met you a few years back at a Long Beach model t club meeting. Anyways, I hope to hear back from you!
Wow,, this really came out looking great! I'd like to post a finished photo of your Fordor on the MAFCA website's Gallery page - www.mafca.com/gallery_1930.html - if you'd like, please send a photo to webmaster@mafca.com

Muy bueno. un saludo.
If the owner plans to drive at night, a rear window curtain is essential.
Nice touch using an original Ford screwdriver to install the door handles. :)
It's probably my imagination but it always seems to be crow's around when I get my model a Ford out
Should not the wheels on this car match the color of the pin stripe?
This was being built as a standard model and the wheels were black on those.

If it's just a few questions, you can ask here. You can also E mail me at onewhocollectsshow@gmail.com. I'll try to answer best I can.
There is no way I could do pinstriping with my shakey hands. And I will shake hands on this fact.

Thanks. I can send you a picture but I'll have to ask the owners for permission first. so it will probably be some time next week.
@@onewhocollects6781 Great!
