In the last video, I assembled this engine with a new timing gear and had no gear backlash. In this video, I fix it by replacing the gear.

This is the engine for my 1913 Ford model T project car. It's had a low budget rebuild done before and, in this video, I correct a few things as I reassemble it.

It's probably my imagination but it always seems to be crow's around when I get my model a Ford out
Great video! I really enjoyed the hill climb. A non related question, I just finished watching your 6 videos from 2 years ago doing the roadster interior and top. Was wondering where you sourced everything.?
The whole thing came off when I took mine off. What's the name of that part you show at 1:52 because that broke off when I was trying to take mine off.
Very cool car
Cool truck
Excellent! I was just going to sew my seats and buy the top but after watching your video I may give it a try! Thank you for the great videos!
T looking good, I just had 1 question, I have a 24 touring T that I will be tackling that's all in crates, how much did you spend on your T's getting them on the road from a derelict condition ? or how much would you spend on restoring one to drivable condition, not pebble beach standards? I know it's a hard question, assume the engine and transmission are ok.
Since I do my own interiors and pretty much get the paint done for cost, I've been able to finish one for about 5,000. give or take.
What a great event and you will have an awesome memory to share for life. Thx for sharing it with us.
a hundred years ago T's were going up and down that road, and nobody even noticed.
I went there in 1972 with my dad. I was 15 and loved Model T's and A's. We lived over in Arcadia. I remember it was just dirt fields and big dirt parking lot.
It was a Model A hillclimb in the 60s and 70s. Lived on Gladys Ave. and walked over for 10 years. The hopped up As were fast. Most Model Ts had to go up in reverse ( lower gear). After the races, Skateboards !
As mentioned by others. Hill used to be a lot steeper back in the day. No houses, all oil rigs. Hillside covered in spectators. Remember seeing cars not make it and roll backwards down Hill street. Remember the downhill skateboarders as well. Got my four wheeling experience driving my Jeep all over Signal Hill way back when. Back behind the National Guard. Have no idea what that area is like today. Have to imagine based on the background scenes, all houses. Anyone else remember the oil tank near the 405 that has a roof that went up down depending on how full it was?
i like the breaker gauge tool great demonstration
I have a 26 touring that is missing the springs and need to know if all front and back upper and lower springs are the same dimention.
The '26-27 body does use different springs, but I think they're available new.
15 million T's. 448,000,000 magnets. Where did Ford get them all???
Or are they U shaped? Which only means they had to come up with 224 million of them.
At 20:50, are those frost plugs you're driving in?
Good job
Well done Charlie. Kudos to everyone involved for a great day.
Are your videos really out of focus or is it my system? I just switched to the new better greater Google router today.
As a young kid during the war, I remember Signal Hill as a dirty place covered with oil derricks.
Loved it! Had I known! (OC Model A Ford Club Member)
I like, really like, your straight forward presentations. Keep it up!
Thank you very much, that's what I try to be.
Really cool. Thanks for sharing. That hill is pretty formidable!
Looks like you certainly held your own. Great video about a great car. Congrats.
Thank you 😊 it's a shame that it doesn't happen every year and open to all model T's. 🤞 Hope it happens again ✌️❤️
Great to see. Thank you from down under Brisbane Australia
Great coverage....SALUTE!
Muy bueno, felicitaciones!!
Hill St. was a lot steeper in 1970. No sidewalks either. It was all redone at some point at least 20 years ago. Not sure but I was on the old hill quite a bit back when Holman Moody and Strope had their shop at the top (race cars).
Cool outfit
That was an excellent run and demonstration of your skill as a builder. Congratulations 👍
That's pretty cool you got to run. Thanks for sharing.
Your down shift was flawless, glad to see all that work to it paid off and people appreciated the event.
Thank you very much, I was practicing that.
Nice shift on the fly!
That was great. Thank you. Were all the cars stock? Do you plan to drive on Halloween this year?
The 2 fastest cars have OHV cylinder heads on them. The rest of them are pretty much stock.
I'm not sure about future plans yet, but I'll think about it.
Great video! Very well done.
Thanks for taking us along! Cheers
Thank you for sharing. Fun to watch!
Thanks for the slice of California car history. The car looks and runs great, as do you. Well done.
Great video! Your touring car is looking good and running well. :>)
That's a Frankenstein. I've seen tons of convertibles available priced cheap. It's better to buy a turn key impala whether it's a convertible, any bench seat, or SS. The one exception is a matching numbers big block 396 or 409. I have a 65 true matching numbers 396 super sport, I chose it instead of convertible..
We need a video on those subframe mounts
You don't install the flywheel and pan in the horizontal position, which is why the bolt holes didn't align. The flywheel and pan are installed in the vertical position There is no way to set the magneto gap when installing in the horizontal position as well. Do not follow what this guy is showing you.
You can say you don't care,,,But we all know deep down that you care,,
I wish to thank You for saving these Beautiful cars! And especially keeping them as origanal as possible! I have seen a bunch of nice nearly 100 year old cars being hot rodded or rat rodded here lately, makes me sick! I am restoring 5 cars right now myself, the newest is a 1931 Chevrolet! The oldest is a 1915 REO! Also, a 1915 Model T Ford touring!
That's some pretty interesting projects. good luck with them. Thank you very much.
I just found your video… nice If you ever have time… yea I know .. I know could you do a 3800 Supercharged Rebuild like you did here. Probably a lot will be the same, but to just be able to see a full rebuild on a supercharged engine would be awesome … and super helpful
Going to need a new one because mind is falling apart.
did the truck sell????????
It actually did shorty after this video was made.
nice Chevy. I had one of those with a three on the tree back in the day. I also have a T in the garage, a 1923 touring. I just took out a piston and had to rewire the safety wire on the rod bolt. Several years ago I had the mag short out and now I know where that bit of wire came from!
Cool. Yep, they're a lot of fun. That has happened to me too. A small piece of wire got in the post and shorted it out.
Excellent video, easy to follow and instructional!
