    Owner of a 1.4 turbo (petrol) for the last 2/3 years. Stage 1 remap, RamAir induction kit and backbox delete- currently around 190bhp. The second gear pull never fails to put a smile on my face. Such an amazing car honestly. Head turner to this day, and has been reliable. Only issue I’ve have was coolant housing breaking on me but that was a £50 fix (new coolant housing) and that occurred in the winter, a very common Vauxhall problem. Would 10/10 recommend this car if you’re in the market for one… I’m planning on upgrading to a GTC VXR in the future hopefully!

      Hello also have a 1.4T gtc could u tell me how much it cost for the mods and did u add any body kits. Still scared to get windows tinted as the visibility out the back is pure shit

    • @Nhyz0
      @Nhyz0 11 месяцев назад

      Also what’s the fuel consumption like after the map because stock it’s absolutely dirt. 6-8L per 100km

    • @suhayl3519
      @suhayl3519 11 месяцев назад

      @@Nhyz0 the rear window visibility seems horrendous in the first few weeks of owning the car, but with time it gets better and you’ll get used to it. I’ve had the car for long enough now that I can easily manoeuvre it through the tightest of spaces. But don’t get me wrong, to this day it still feels like I’m driving a boat as it’s so wide 😂😂
      With regards to mods- the ECU remap cost around £200, the forged RamAir induction kit was £250 (I fitted it myself on my driveway, took about 2 hours), the backbox delete cost £150 (at an exhaust shop) and I’ve also got a maxton spoiler lip extension which was around £80 to £100 if I remember correctly (probs the best mod I’ve done, gave the car a whole new look even though it’s such a small mod)
      Fuel wise, after the remap I average around 33 to 36mpg (I’m from UK). I’ll only send the car from time to time or if I’m going through a tunnel, otherwise I drive it pretty normally
      Hope that helps

    I was taking a look at Astra H GTC earlier this year, but instead of that I stumbled upon Astra J GTC 1.7 CDTI, Isuzu engine one. And so far, so good. Car still looks amazing today, and I get so many questions about it, since there's not too many of them around here. Mine also has full leather interior, Xenon headlights, heated seats and all of that.

    I have one myself, love the car to bits. Such a great drive, tight suspension, I’ve a 1.6 turbo all I’d ever say about the thing is the mpg could be better 😂

    Have a 1.4t high miler and still drives like new, no rattles or squeaks, fabulous cars, great to drive, and very cheap on fuel and maintenance.

    Nice video! I own this car and am one of those odd types that likes watching other talk about their own car haha just to compare notes
    2.0 diesel in mine, though I've always fancied shot in the 1.6 petrol
    Never had any major issues with mine either. BMW's I've had and a Jeep directly before this were nightmares but this has been great for the last few years
    One note: the boot is 380 litres. Very usable too, it'll be taking me and my lady to the lakes this coming weekend for a splash around

      Looking to get a 2.0 diesel one myself, my first Vauxhall! I’m hearing people make comments about poor reliability and it’s making me worry! Haha

    • @jamesphilipson1289
      @jamesphilipson1289 8 месяцев назад +2

      @Coppercrack yeah I've heard this be said, too. Not sure what people are doing with theirs. Had mine for 4.5 years and it's never skipped a beat. Got it with 61k on the clock and it's now on 111k, still absolutely spot on. Just serviced annually and that's it. All depends who's had it before you I reckon, and how they've driven it. I figure if the miles are too low then it could have had a life where it's sat more often, not having a proper run, going around town up and down the gears non-stop, whereas a higher mileage one has likely sat in 6th gear most of the time ticking over at 1800rpm and is clearly working and capable cause it's worked the whole time to get the miles up. I'd just say make sure service history is spot on and have a decent test drive. If anything feels off, be put off.
      I went to buy one that was 3 years newer with half the mileage but the clutch didn't feel as smooth, it had a slight pop in the middle when pressing and releasing. It also had the vxr interior and wing on the back so presume a boy racer type had owned it and that explained the clutch. I trusted my gut and am glad I did, she's still doing me proud!

    Hi there mate, what alloys are they? I love the look of them and the colour is perfect with the red calipers

    Had a 2ltr GTC CDTi Bi Turbo, nice car, decent performance and economy (or so i thought). Sold it and purchased a Leon FR Tdi 184, no competition, the Leon was better at pretty much everything and the engine, despite being 11bhp down was far punchier and less strained. Not knocking the GTC, more of a reflection of how good the Leon FR was

    I’m looking to buy Astra gtc but not sure if it’s a good car or not, I asked a gtc owner and he just said “if you look after it, it looks after you”, is it a good car?

      Same. I have a 1.7 since last July. It's a 2013 and I've spent a fortune, head gasket, timing belt, starter, alternator, fuel injector pump, clutch and flywheel. It's in the garage every 2-3 weeks with limp mode issues etc. Absolute nightmare

      Likely to have a poor service and maintenance history, and currently ragged by an infantile driver.
