Well, that's probably something people would debate, but he definitely had a huge career that spanned from the 50's on up until his death. This era though, of his music in the 70's was so good. He had so many hits a lot of people don't remember he had a hit with the song first. Probably a lot don't know that Twitty cut "I've Been Around Enough to Know" before John Schneider and cut "Goodbye Time" long before Blake Shelton.
you probably dont care but if you are bored like me atm then you can watch all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last weeks xD
Definitely one of my favorite songs by Conway. This man was a legend in his own time. Just like Loretta is a legend in her own life. Still humble and beautiful with the voice of angels. Conway and Loretta will always be one of the best duets of all time.

Well if you're trying to roast him, he's got more talent and people that love him while he's dead, much more than your own family loves you, he's accomplished more than you ever will. If you are complimenting the man, well then that's very nice of you. And again, if not, then fuck off. Also look at your name, it's got all kinds of crap on top of it and can't be pronounced by a decent civilization. If you're throwing shade, just saying.
I am tempted to say this is my favorite song of his. This is the epitome of Honky Tonk! I was so disappointed when he started changing the sound of his music in the 80s. Just didn't really sound that country anymore. But he was fabulous when he was doing the REAL country stuff, like this song here! He always had the best steel guitar work in his music too until he changed his sound.
@@leahflower9924 I know you were being humorous, but seriously I never liked the "jeans" song. It was just an example of the change in the sound of his music that didn't really sound pure country anymore. I could name some of his pure country songs, but you probably know what I mean.
I disagree. What is "pure country"? Conway certainly didn't sound like country pioneers Hank Williams Sr., or even Bob Wills, who both have their own country sound. Conway had his own sound and it evolved just as all music does. He still produced hits, and people still listened to his music. I mean Conway was originally a rock n' roll artist, so theoretically his "pure sound" would be that.@@Dion-rz3fz
I love Conway, but I do agree, his music was not too traditional in the last few years. However, if he would have lived longer, I dont think anyone would have had more #1 HITS, just because he is Conway.
I had listened this song some 30 years ago as a teen ....the peculiar throaty voice of conway instantly attracted me so much then that I became a fan of conway since then...I am now 50 plus and still a big fan of him..
I totally agree!! I was lucky enough yrs. ago to meet Mel Street & visit with him & found him to be a very kind, friendly, gracious guy!! Friends of mine ran a place where they'd bring in Country singers & he was one. I visited with him for hours & it is a 'Winning Memory' for me
@@eugenehechler8608 So glad you mentioned Mel Street. I knew the name of course but after reading your comment and the person below that responded to you I decided to listen to his music. How I've overlooked Mel all these years is beyond me, this was a great great talented guy. I'm so grieved to discover that he took his own life and his 43rd birthday (October 21, 1935 - October 21, 1978), yes I looked it up after listening to several of his great songs. There's sorrow in my heart for him right now, he suffered from depression. This man was "real country" and I'm sure a sweet guy as the other commenter mentioned after having met him. I could see his personality in the live performances I watch. We lost a great one on that fateful day in 1978😟 Thank you for the awakening to Mel Street. I'm forever grateful.

That's what real country music is, not like that today! Today it's country rock and county rap! It's a darn shame!
