By far one of the greatest voices in country music history. Conway Twitty was a rare talent. This is one of the best live performances I've seen. He was one of those few that always sounded better live than in studio. Check out his 1990 performance of "It's Only Make Believe" if you still don't believe. He was in his late 50's and in declining health, and still NAILED it.
I have to admit, I did come from Family Guy. He was very soothing, very powerful with his words, and just plain amazing to listen to. This song is probably my favorite from him. Very bittersweet, very beautiful.

Discovered this song through Family Guy. Made me cry the first time I listened. The joke for the context of the show was over 10 seconds into the clip. They could have cut it there. But I think Sethe McFarlane legitimately wanted people to hear this clip. The 3rd pre-chorus makes me tear up everytime. The power in his voice. He's almost screaming those notes. It's incredible.
Yeah, gold and platinum hits, 9 songs in the Billboard top 40, and numbers one's in 21 countries, numerous Country Music Association awards, inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. How much recognition do the think the guy should have?
Whatever anyone thinks about the moral or message of this song, nobody can say that this is anything but a first rate performance. CT looks like he means every single word and the fact that his facial expression hardly changes as he looks straight into the camera only adds to the power of the song.
I’m 18 and I came here from family guy, I smile every time he appears in an episode 🥰 he has such a nice voice. I’m definitely gonna be listening to his music a lot from now on ❤
American classic country music is very popular amongst a lot of indigenous Australians ( mostly the older one's now ) the younger generations go for hip hop and r and b stuff, but to me - I think these older style Country Music stars from America are fantastic talents and are a irreplaceable and rare sound. Although it was mostly purely a music thing - not really about who these artists were personally. All that mattered was that great sounding style of music and singing. In Australia, it was Slim Dusty as a favourite country music choice.

He was everywhere in the 70s - just tearing hell out of the radio and tv. Funny Aside: I remember mentioning him to my dad way back then and his sole reply, verbatim, was "he has a head like f'n Frankenstein, son." HAHAHAHA. I'd hope that Mr. Twitty himself would find that funny, too. I'll always miss you, Conway. Say hello to my sweet grandparents, Buck and Bootsie, while you're at it. They're up there dancing to your music.
It's incredible.
cry? he’s talking about stealing ur girl
@@Nichojakub145 I would understand why they would leave like damn it’s the Conway dude from family guy
@@Nichojakub145 no he isn’t
@@MikehMike01 he sorta is
A true country singer, an icon, & hall of famer
I love how this song gets right into it. No beating around the bush “woman you want me and you know it”. 😂
The best friend a song ever had Conway Twitty
😱 That perfect range of only two notes @1:09 shows why he is considered one of the ALL TIME GREATS in country music history! 👌👌👌👌👌
He sings so much better live than the studio version.
Grazie Griffin per avermi fatto scoprire questa canzone e questo artista!!!
Just listened to this 50 times on loop and I ain't gonna stop
In the Army, we call these guys "Jody"
We had the same name for them on the towboat
This guy, had some serious talent
Would probably be the all time leader in number ones of he didn't did so soon. Man is a legend
This started as a family guy joke, now Conway Twitty is one of the best singers I have ever heard in my life 😭 Scotland 🏴
Family Guy brought me here, but my interest in soulful music kept me listening
What an amazing vocal performance! How many current singers could go out and bang out a live vocal like this guy?
Family guy brought me, but Conway Twitty made me stay and so Ladies and Gentlemen, Conway Twitty..............................
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MR CONWAY TWITTY.
i like how family guy has brought Mr Conway Twitty a new generation of fans. He's so relaxing to listen to
Hearing Conway makes me so lonesome for my grandparents. I miss them so much.
he never got enough recognition he should have thank God for Family Guy
I agree in 100%
He had platnium certifications before family guy
Yeah, gold and platinum hits, 9 songs in the Billboard top 40, and numbers one's in 21 countries, numerous Country Music Association awards, inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. How much recognition do the think the guy should have?
This man was a legend
He was a headliner way before Family guy
This is such a brilliantly written song
Best leisure suit ever... Come on America.... let’s bring this look back into style!!!
B Money Agreed. The collar extends *past* the lapels 😵
Too much pal,too much
Am I the only person under 30 who heard this gem before family guy? I'm very blessed my mom had me in her mid 40s
830 people have NO idea how real country music sounds.. unreal..
Damn this dude is just singing about stealing your girl
That pretty much was the topic of his entire songbook.
@@jr2375 I laughed so hard at this because it's true! :D
He probably could. Anybody who looks like that must get mad chach.
That's a paraguayan tradition
Yeah him and his gray sideburns woulda stole me
Whatever anyone thinks about the moral or message of this song, nobody can say that this is anything but a first rate performance. CT looks like he means every single word and the fact that his facial expression hardly changes as he looks straight into the camera only adds to the power of the song.
I’m 18 and I came here from family guy, I smile every time he appears in an episode 🥰 he has such a nice voice. I’m definitely gonna be listening to his music a lot from now on ❤
When I first saw Conway, I assumed he was some figure of fun. Silly old me. What a voice! Whew, absolutely stunning vocals.
Jokes on us! Conway is a Saturn V rocket!

It's a shame Bill O'reilly quit being a singer and became a news anchor, he was a good singer.

Hello
Thank u family guy for showing me this gem of a man
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty
