He said the situation had to be perfect, that the organization had to be aligned top to bottom. And he went to the bears, and already has his coaching staff ready. It’s apparent that his mind was elsewhere, and that’s a slap in the face to Dan and everyone else in that locker room in my opinion. He’s gotta play us twice a year now. He may grow to regret his decision.

I don’t think any coach does, they just know that everyone will fall for the white lie if you tell them what they want to hear
He did however inform Dan that he was leaving to be head coach elsewhere (the Raider were his destination but I guess it fell through and Chicago offered him a better offer)

I'm doing a DOUBLE reverse play with Gibbs and St Brown!.. HA!.. bet you weren't expecting that, now huh??!" 😅,.. like bro.. why are you overthinking it.. just do basic play sometimes that leads to efficiency.. it was too many times that we went through and out to start the game because he opens up with some dumb stuff.. leaving Lions and thinking "what the hell was that play calling on that drive Ben??"

If we allow that his playcalling was too “fuck it, chuck it” bc he knew he wouldn’t be back, please also consider that he wasn’t randomly “distracted” in game planning the last two weeks - I believe he generally wanted to do right by the team and it wasn’t his fault that Jamo and Jared threw the ball to the other team as many times as they did.

I’m going to be completely honest here - this has been on my mind for a while now, and I’m not saying it in the moment or out of spite, but I just don’t see Ben Johnson as a good fit for head coach. Obviously, he's a good coordinator but a head coach? I just can’t picture it. He doesn’t seem to have the kind of authority, the commanding presence, or the demeanor that you'd expect from a head coach. We've seen many cases where promising coordinators get the head coaching job and flop hard because they just don’t have that “it” factor when it comes to managing an entire team, creating a culture, and holding players accountable.
Look, I get it - this is all speculation, but I just don’t think Ben will be the answer for Chicago. I honestly feel like Aaron Glenn has much more head coach potential. His leadership style, his ability to connect with players, being a former player himself - I think that translates better to a head coach position. Ben Johnson? I have serious doubts, especially in a tough environment like Chicago. We’ll see how it plays out, but I’m not optimistic about his chances for success.

It's no surprise now everyone see how the lions offense was terrible that past 3yrs in nfc championship game against the 49ers and this divisional game against Washington too much playing around instead of running the ball Ben Johnson going to the bears is nothing but more fire we are going to unleash on them each game

I love to see Hutch chasing and sacking Caleb Wiliams.
I hope the LIONS hire OC from outside and not promote from within. Same with DC if AG is hired. Complacency may become a problem when you promote from within.

EXACTLY, especially at trick play with JAMO!.. look, as good as he was he did do that a lot.. it's like the bigger the games the more he overthought the simple situation.. it's like he thought like 🤔"well they'll be thinking I'm about to pass it, to Jamo cuz he's back, well guess what?? I'm doing a DOUBLE reverse play with Gibbs and St Brown!.. HA!.. bet you weren't expecting that, now huh??!" 😅,.. like bro.. why are you overthinking it.. just do basic play sometimes that leads to efficiency.. it was too many times that we went through and out to start the game because he opens up with some dumb stuff.. leaving Lions and thinking "what the hell was that play calling on that drive Ben??"

IF WE CANT BEAT Ben Johnson who we seen 4 years play in this offense, then we really need to hang it up. This is a GOOD THING for us. We know the Vikings, Green Bay & now the Bears. Can’t blame him, he came back he deserves better QB for his scheme!
    We have bigger issues…

This is a good thing for the lions now they can get a oc to execute plays running the ball wearing down the defense and play action to our Wr but the number one thing is we need to fix our defense and get faster players on the front end and especially at Lb and cb I would bring back Aron Glenn because he really didn't have any to work with just a bunch of pieces

Interviews or not, he was leaving. It has always been the Bears ever since last season. He wanted the job last season, but the Bears decided to keep Eberflus, so Ben Johnson decided to say with Lions. Plus, Jared Goff is the real reason the Lions lost, but the Lions are my SB favorite for 2026.
