  • We often ignore warnings that we think will prevent us from getting what our hearts desire. It’s more natural for us to trust ourselves instead of trusting God, but that leads to painful consequences. In this message, we study James 4 to learn three warnings that will prevent us from ruining our lives.

Many of us are living according to our own truth, but is our truth actually reliable? The only way to know is by going straight to the source to learn how to handle money, why our plans don't work, how to live a life of freedom, and so much more. In this series, we learn how to study God’s word as we walk through the book of James to discover the full truth from the half brother of Jesus.

JD! Thank you for this message! :) It's such a funny but impactful message! Your drawings are fine!!! HAHA
    Regarding the message,
I truly agree especially in the last part of the message where we focus on the,
"Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up."
I think it's very important that as we bask in His grace, we also realize how serious our sins are!!
I was going through a moment which I thought I could get away with sin because of His grace, and even when I was warned repeatedly about the consequences on how it'll damage the relationship of me and God, I kept going because at that time it seemed like not a serious sin, like I could just get back on track after the sinning.
But I was wrong, it was so hard to feel right and close with God after that because I had tainted myself with sin and had actively disobeyed His command, I had tainted the Holy place that is this temple or body that is a living sacrifice and the place where God resides.
I had to go through the moments of feeling how it feels to "lose" or feel far from God, and it was terrible! It was incredibly scary and it made me realize how I've lost something so precious (my intimate relationship with God, the ability to come to Him with humble confidence) over something worldly that doesn't even last that long or bring any wholesome happiness! (DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!)
But I kept on praying that God would take away the guilt and pull my heart to Him, for Him to make me realize that His love is bigger than my sin or my guilt or shame! And I believed, even when it felt dry, no-connection, and unfruitful....I believed that His Words (His love is bigger than our sins) is true instead of MY guilt. His Words about His love and forgiveness >>>>> my guilt.
And I am glad to say that I am no longer living in that shame or guilt! In fact, I feel much more intimate and closer to God before that sin I committed, because I now truly grasp how BIG is His love and how PRECIOUS it is for me!! That I should not be as foolish as I was to do something that was momentarily exciting and losing something so precious which is my connection with God!
So, to anyone who's going through a self-evaluation or have just committed a sin that you think have broken your relationship with God......you are not forsaken! His embrace is still widely open for you! You are hindered by your sin but He will come and pick you from your fall! He is faithful even when we are not!
