    I'm elderly and am finding it a challenge to memorize Scripture. This encouraging video motivates me to keep doing what I CAN do. I may only memorize one chapter in the time it takes someone else to memorize an entire book. I'm hiding God's Word in my heart and that's what matters.

      Amen!! That’s a wonderful way to look at it 👍🏻👍🏻

    I agree with Scott! I enjoy gleaning from each guest and from you as well!! I've decided that just repeatedly listening to a book is great because I'm meditating on God's word at the same time!

      Very true, Janet. It's one of the best/easiest ways to "renew your mind" as it says in Romans, isn't it?

      @@BibleMemoryGoal For sure! Been renewing my mind in God's Word for many years. Though I'm able to retain many scriptures, I've never tried to memorize books. A new challenge! I like Scott's grace-filled approach and will trust the Holy Spirit to be my Holy reminder. 🙂

      Sir, I really look forward to celebrating when you are finally done memorizing the book of Ephesians since you are now in the 5th or 6th chapter as you indicated. God bless your efforts.

    Great to see another interview with someone doing memorization :) It's definitely inspring to see someone else who kind of just started a while ago and has success. I actually switched from Jude to Philippians on the second day. Now I'm at the beginning of the second chapter :) It's going really well. Two or three verses a day add up pretty quickly to a whole chapter.

      YES! That's what I love about Scott's insights here. We tend to think that 1 verse at a time is just so slow, but you'll be surprised at how quickly it adds up to a chapter and even a whole book. You just have to get started.

    I love seeing all these different insights, thank you very much. I am not a content creator but am encouraged to consider creating a video on this topic, if it might encourage someone on this important subject! I haven't seen my main method yet as a beginner... more than half way through 1 John!

    • @BibleMemoryGoal

      Way to go getting through 1 John!! That's worth celebrating!
      What do you mean you haven't seen your main method yet as a beginner?

    • @yvonnecrozier4536
      @yvonnecrozier4536 3 года назад +1

      It's a sort of inductive method... I mark the passage up with certain colors and symbols for words and phrases that help me picture reading it. I then look for word patterns, like two "nobody"s followed by two "whoever"s, or "when" followed by "if".
      Edit: Sorry what I meant by haven't seen it is I have been watching all the RUclips videos I can find on the subject to learn and add ideas!

    Nice video I am also a pastor that encourages the Church to memorize. I too use memory palaces and the major system. It is great to find someone who also does this. It helps to bounce ideas off someone who uses the same system. I also found someone who did the book of James with a palace. If you search RUclips you'll find it.

    23:08 - Can someone tell what Bible memory for life is? Is that a scripture memory program of some kind, or simply a lifestyle of ongoing Bible memory? Thanks.

    • @BibleMemoryGoal
      @BibleMemoryGoal  2 года назад +2

      It's not a program of any kind, it's simply a mindset. Instead of just memorizing to check a box, you're approaching the Scripture knowing that this is something that you'll be doing for life.
