My Dad used to work for the 🇨🇦 government. Occasionally, he had to go to the airport to do maintenance work. One time, a Polish family showed up fresh off a flight, not one word of English among them and very lost. They announced over the intercom system if anyone could speak Polish, would they please come to assist. My Dad’s first language was Polish, so he came. He got the information from them that someone was supposed to pick them up but were not there when they arrived. He got the phone number, called them and realized that the pick up person thought they were coming the next day. Dad spent the next couple hours with them, getting their luggage and some food, until their ride showed up, very apologetic. It helps to know other languages sometimes!
Reminds me of a comedy sketch, if the Poles were a dance troop and your mum called your Dad she would not be amused to hear he was hanging out with a group of Pole dancers.... Also works with a dances from Lapland
Had to do something very very similar when I was working at the Airport as a passenger service assistant. Older lady didn't speak a lick of English but could understand it, she was vising from Vietnam. We when to a service area for their assistance for English translation , suffice to say the lady behind the counter wasn't much help. However if memory serves she had her nieces/relatives phone number, I sat and stayed with her near the phone for as long as needed til someone she knew picked her up. The job was very interesting, there were moments that were quite uplifting, however I wasn't a fan the strict dress policy nor hours and having to reply on tips, it was minimum wage the lowest paying job I've ever worked in my life, living with 2 other adults and 3 kids also didn't help my mental state. I didn't keep the job for long though. But I didn't mind the people I worked with too much, but lord that job was exercise 😂
I have a mate came to live here in New Zealand 30 years ago, he is from Taiwan, he speaks Taiwanese, English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, all except the English like native. His dad worked for Taiwanese military intelligence, and in the 1950s the guy in charge of the whole military planning of the country, called Grandfather Chen, had a good idea. They gathered up refugee women from all around the pacific, from countries he knew Taiwan's military would need trusted perfect translators of the local language. They tried to get women who had young children, and brought the women to Taiwan through government aid agencies. Then they gave them jobs as nannies for officers that had infant sons, and the sons grew up speaking the nannies language as well as a native, from talking to the nanny and her children. They still do this today semi-officially, and my mate Kocheng, born in 1973, used to get rewarded by his father for passing language exams when he was a little kid, when he was a boy, he had three nannies, a Mandarin speaker, a Cantonese, and a Japanese, and when he was an adult, worked in their military for ten years.

I was an Uber driver for a while and I once picked up two young ladies from a local university. As I drove, they were in the backseat speaking German. Having served in West Germany (a long time ago) for 2 years in the Army, I understood much of what they were saying but didn't let on. Around twenty minutes into the drive, as young people in their late teens-early 20s will do, they started making some remarks about me, including whether or not I'd have a heart attack if they decided to be the German equivalent of "Geezer-pleasers". I fought hard to keep a straight face at that, LOL! When we arrived and they opened the door to exit, I finally spoke German to them, wishing them a great day, to enjoy their time at the location, and thanked them for their concern but my heart is fine, it's just owned by my wife. They both turned a deep red, we all had a good laugh, and I drove off, never to see them again.

Inside Man is a good movie, I just watched again on Netflix. Thanks for reminding me about it-It has a lot of great actors in it.
The movie is The Siege.
I love when she shows up and says "I can tell you what he's saying. I can even tell you who it is." But then she makes them clear out her parking tickets.
Then she tells them. It's a famous speech by an Albanian politician 😂 totally useless, the robbers were just playing a recording.
Enver Hoxha was a paranoid dictator that left Albania 500 years behind Europe
Construction. Of course.
I've only seen 3 shorts of this film because of Will Lasso but did she at least let cook somethin up at least?
Ha ha. Reverse DEI. Promote the guy in the hi vis vest.
I fu..ing love Regina from Dino Crisis!! So where do we go from here?
One time, my dad and I were standing in line for a convention in Utah. The security guard was trying to explain to a lady in front of us that she couldn’t bring her sandwich in. After about thirty seconds, his partner raises her voice slightly and says, “does anyone here speak Portuguese?” Three guys, including my dad, all stepped up speaking fluent Portuguese. Coolest experience ever.
This is probably my favourite Clive Owen movie 😊
I think their speaking “nunya”
I wouldn't call my ex wife in that situation even if the cops threatened to lock me up 😁
A great movie, seen it several times.
Do they know that google translate has a feature to recognise language
Flawless scene 😂
If this is New York from my understanding they could of walked into any Italian store in little Italy and found an Albanian speaker
I mean, I can differentiate a lot of different languages, but I only speak 2, so not too unusual really.
Movie name ❓❓❓
Inside man
I mean he only asked if anyone knew what the language was never if they could speak it😅
A great flick.
I am that dude. I can tell Japanese, Korean and Chinese. But I don't speak those languages.
Dayum 😮 iv been searching for the ñame of this movie for the last 7-8 years, at last here it is🙏🏿👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Where???
@my2centsonCS The inside man
@@AndresBarba22 I found it in 5 seconds using Google 😂
Inside man… greet Spike Lee movie.
“Their speaking Japanese, from Japan.”
“What are they saying?”
“I don’t know, I don’t speak Japanese. I just watch anime with the subtitles. Pretty sure that one called someone an idiot several times though.”
The second i saw him i thought he must be from New Yorker who knows someone who knows Albanian
If he wasn't on the take
... 🤦♀️😬🙄😤
I dont know the situation but i would rather let the entire world end than call any of my exes ever again.
Except for one.
I'd save the world for only her... 🥺
What series is this
Tries to help the police and ends up having to call his ex-wife. He’ll never make that mistake again.
imagine needing to call ur ex wife for that😭😭😭
