girl that's crazy. as a female content creator i've been through it. i literally had to report 2 separate stalker cases. 1 in 2021 and then in 2023... funnily the policeman who helped me in 21' was the same guy that helped me in '23... i was like 'hey... it's me again, different guy this time' lol... had to make another report in the end of 23' but that wasn't to police, it was to this online cyber crimes website we have in aus...and it didn't even help lol

What Maya was saying about the different police dept is so sad but true. When I was dealing with my abusive ex, I called the police for help they told me they couldn't do anything until I was harmed. When I called a different department for help, the officer showed up and walked me through the process of getting an order of protection. It's terrible that we aren't taken seriously, when actively in danger. I'm sorry for anyone who has to deal with it

My granny has a story similar to QT's story about her mom. The day my grandpa died my granny woke up with an odd feeling that she needed to be ready. They had been divorced for several years and lived apart, so she had no idea how sick he had gotten. Shortly after getting ready, she was sitting when she got a call that my grandpa was dying and that's what she was getting ready for that morning. She had no idea why she needed to get ready, but she just got a feeling and got ready.
I'll admit I was one of those people that thought Maya was a little too paranoid about some things, but after hearing her stalker story, I was completely wrong. That whole story was insane, and I'm sorry she had to go through all that. Also, when she was talking about the police that angered me a lot. To tell her that unless she tells him to stop, they can't charge him with harassment, and then after she does tell him to stop, move the fucking goal post. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT OF RESPONDING TO HIM THEN. If actual harm has to come to her before they would intervene, then telling him to stop was fucking pointless.
I think she mentioned it was a different police department that told her he had to do something for them to act, but both are absolutely bonkers and it also makes me really mad. Imagine if people's health and safety were actually prioritized in this country :'(

Ugh, the story about someone replicating her mom after she passed reminded me of something similar(and it still happens). My stepdad's mom passed a couple of years ago, and barely weeks after, her account got hacked, and messaged most of their followers "Hello." They recently made a copycat account and did the same to me. It's extremely eerie and just disturbing. Such a great episode, and terrifying to hear what y'all have gone through sometimes but you guys are so strong!!! much love to you both always!
I've only had a minor stalker once and it was scary enough to make me have self defense weapons and security at all times. It's the one thing that deterred me from making a RUclips channel for so long. Then I realized that you don't have to be chronically online to be stalked. The stalker can be your next door neighbor, your coworker, someone in your class- it really doesn't matter.

The stalking stuff just breaks my heart. I can't relate to the level either of you have had, but I know a little since my own dad is a stalker and delusional. When I stopped talking to him at 13 he would send me texts and calls everyday, some nice like we were on good terms, some abusive and creepy. He'd show up at all hours, I'd see his shadow outside my room at night. He has a history of stalking his ex's and he sadly treated me the same way. Without going into too much detail of trauma I do know what it's like to know someone out there is completely unwell and you don't know what they're going to do next. I'm still not fully healed from it for a variety of reasons. My heart just breaks for you guys. I truly hope more can be done to address this stuff in the future. You shouldnt have to spend so much money to simply feel safe. I do think maybe I should get an assessment for PTSD because hven now, 12 years later I have nightmares about him finding me.

He got my address back when I was in college, looking for an internship, I sent out my resume with a real address. I finally have enough money to get a new phone by cancelling insurance so I'll have my number changed again. And I relocated twice since my college days with two name changes due to this person being in my industry. I'm also changing jobs recently.

Okay so thing the beginning I am an undergrad physics major. In order to form a blackhole according to theory CERN would need to operate about times 10^15 than what it is currently capable. The way the law deals with stalkers is crazy. How is it that you're allowed to make violent threats against someone and the police won't do shit until they actually hurt you? How about preventing them from hurting you? What's the merit in allowing people the freedom to stalk and threaten people? How about you have the police tell them to stop, and if they don't, they're clearly dangerous?

If you're having trouble getting the police to help with a serious situation, look up and contact your local councilperson. We're your customer service support for anything government. If that doesn't work send a news tip to your local news. They're desperate for human interest stories and once they start calling the station it gets their attention.
My mum was stalked by a boyfriend, which turned into an ex. The police did nothing and this was the 80s. It only stopped when she moved far away to a different state. Sad that in so many places, nothing has changed.

Okay so thing the beginning I am an undergrad physics major. In order to form a blackhole according to theory CERN would need to operate about times 10^15 than what it is currently capable. Also, even if a blackhole were to be formed it would instantly dissapate by hawking radiation. Finally, we are not sure if it is even possible to form blackholes.

Saying "men too" is really not helpful when you're listening to 2 women share their experiences. If your friend got colon cancer, you wouldn't say "oh yeah well my uncle got skin cancer once!" You'd say "damn that's horrible, how can I help?"

i went to cern 2 times, inside, like in the LHC tunnel, including this october and it was not exciting, and i study physics. It was impressive but not exciting. There were a lot of champagne bottles that recorded acheivements tho

Regarding Meade there is an amazing Meadery in San Diego called Lost Cause Meadery and it is by far the best Meade you'll ever have. Normal meade does taste a lot like beer, this stuff tastes like candy and then all of a sudden you realize you just drank 20% meade and can't see straight. Plus the Miramar location has an amazing Vegan restaurant inside.

The way the law deals with stalkers is crazy. How is it that you're allowed to make violent threats against someone and the police won't do shit until they actually hurt you? How about preventing them from hurting you? What's the merit in allowing people the freedom to stalk and threaten people? How about you have the police tell them to stop, and if they don't, they're clearly dangerous?
This feels like a Halloween episode with all these scary stories.
the things us women have to go through in our day to day lives truly can never be fully summarized. if someone like maya, who fortunately has the resources to protect herself from these psychos, cannot be fully protected, imagine what other regular women have to deal with. cops brushing women off in stalking situations and only "helping" once it's too late will always refuel my rage for the systems we have to live in and i hope that no one has to ever deal with feeling unseen and unheard. i'm so sorry maya and qt (and everyone else) for having to experience something as traumatic as this
