sport palace! I was so hoping to see the absolute tool he said he made of himself when he was talking about this on his show with Edith Bowman, but they obviously thought to cut around the bit where he played his crotch like a pair of bongo drums. very sad indeed.
Yeah this game show comes off as a very creepy dystopian take on a game show. It almost feels as if you are being held hostage against your own will (fun fact: the show’s format and style were based on the creator’s experiences as a POW being interrogated by the Gestapo in World War 2. Gulp).
No wonder he got the 'Starman' question wrong! Released in July '72? Two months before the album? It came out in April. The album came out in June. Why do they employ ignorant fools to write their questions?
I was into Bowie in my teens, but I've never read a book about him or really anything about him over the last couple of decades and have barely listened to the music much since. Those questions were still piss. I got one less that Adam. I suspect like most people who go on this show Adam must have been delighted not to embarrass himself, but he was probably also a little peeved that the questions didn't test the knowledge of much more than a casual Bowie fan. I bet he boned up on Bowie for at least a couple of days if not weeks before this.
@@Nacnud191 I know. But I bet he boned up all the same, because (a) nobody likes embarrassing themselves on the telly, and (b) he likes reading about/listening to/watching Bowie anyway!
Well done to Neal Pearson for choosing a specialised subject that isn't just pop culture. Adam's great and all that, as is Bowie, but how's about choosing the life and works of David Hume, or Thomas Aquinas, or the rise and fall of the Mughal Empire. He wouldn't even have to know about it, he would just be ballsy for choosing it.
To be fair to the ever scrawnier Humphries, it must be very difficult to laugh and pretend that these "celebrities" are funny. Ninety percent of these people I've never heard of.
@@jockmackay9582 Blimey mate. Just admit you were wrong. Learn English. You should have concentrated during grammar lessons. Not everyone can be smart!
An unfathomable intensity of laser focus. Buxton demonstrating his pure genius.
Pretty sure the answer for every question is sutin
Sport Palace.
Buckles should've answered these in the voice of Rosie the dog.
Not boggins? :P
What about Ken Korda?
or the Queen
Even better, in Zavid's own voice.
“ my wife” robot voice would be good too.

errrrrghh sports palace. sooo funny but at the same time poor adam. much love !
2:53 For a second there I thought Buxton was teeing up his answer, then I quickly realised that was actually his answer. 😂
Ive never seen him look and speak so seriously!!!
Well done Adam. Impressive
Why is Adam Buxton dressed as an extra from Porridge? :P
Haha, well observed.

I wish he would do more programmes talking the piss out of peoples' comments on RUclips, or sutin.
A-warzararz. Adam should have strutted across the stage like country man.
Just for you ruclips.net/video/FODvjYoVEi8/видео.html
It's a very cool and confident performance but let's be frank, the questions are piss-easy.
if you know the fecking answers, sure
you must be a genius or sutin
Yep, they always dumb down the questions for the celebrity versions of quiz shows...
DIS GUY IS A GENIUS OR SUTIN
Because it's for charity.
My questions would be: ‘where is my wife?’ and ‘are you my wife?’

The answer to all of these questions should have been 'Cobbler Bob'. :)
They make the general knowledge questions so easy for celebrities :-/
Sport Palace.
I was waiting for this

Mark Fox yes, but it depends what country you live in. It was released at different times in the UK and the USA.
Exactly (why on earth would they be referring to anything but the UK release?). He wuz robbed.
These questions were so easy I believe an American College Student could answer them.
You're not allowed to interrupt the questions on mastermind.
It’s a venue from another planet, Sport Palace! (To the Sport Billy theme)
What a lovely brain.
love you Adam!
Love you Adam
oh my god these questions are so easy
What on earth is the English language expatriate press? I know what all of those words mean individually but...
Check out the upcoming Wes Anderson movie "The French Dispatch". I think it's basically about that.
HE MUST NO THIS SHIT OR SUTIN
Hammersmith Palais was where the lesser known bands played
Very easy Bowie questions to be fair.
Hammersmith Palais??? Shocking. That gig was central to the DA Pennebaker movie
He knew it, I *KNOW* he knew it. Think he just had a big ol' brain panic and the neurons went on the fritz for a split second.
Hello! I'm John Humphries, and my tie is so blood heavy..

Doubt Adam Buxton did much boning up. He’s a genuine Bowie aficionado 👍

This guy is a sod.
Can't believe he got those two wrong, basic stuff for a Bowie nerd.
It's much harder in front of an audience whilst being recorded for television.
You bellend.
Spolier. He lost

How do you get 90% from four people?
@@jockmackay9582
Ninety percent of the "celebrities" that go on the programme, not just these four. Duh 😂😂
"these people" is what you said. 90% of these people. Not 90% of the people that go on the show.
You can "duh" yourself
