    Thank you so much. This helps a lot of really low income kids who still want a special moment, as well as people who couldn’t get booked or don’t have many options. You’re amazing, don’t listen to any greedy hate.

      Hi Cheyenne, thank you very much for the kind comments. Yes I've gotten a lot of other photographers who do not agree with my posting this video, but I believe in sharing and helping others, especially if they are not in a position to be able to hire a professional.
      In my opinion, no senior should go without capturing images of that special time in their life.

    Thank you! Thank you! You don't know how much I appreciate you taking the time to give us pointers to take our son's senior pictures so he has something to give to the school. The final turn-in is the 22nd of Dec, and we've not been able to have his photos professionally done. Thank you so much!

    This helps so much. Thank you!! I have 3 boys, and all of them graduate year after year starting this year. Local photographer wants $399 just for 2 poses, and that's NOT including digitals 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ then we also have to get senior graduation packages!! So, I'm looking at $1k minimum just for basic everything for senior year, x3!!! So, Momma is gonna become a photographer 😂😂😂. The only thing I'm not sure about, if you could help, is how do I get their name at the bottom or like Class of 2025 in the corner of photos? Would that be done with editing software?

      Hi @trinityjean4952, I'm glad it helped. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. Yes, three seniors in the same year that can be an expensive trip to the photographer. :-) I'm curious, what city are you in?
      To answer your question, yes, that's done by editing software, and you should be able to find plenty of free apps online that can help. Even some photo printers have the software.
      I hope that helps! Just wait until they all go to college. LOL!

    This helps soo much! My sisters and I all dropped out of high school. We're all in our mid-thirties now, but now we have a little brother who is graduating and our mom is clueless and helpless about the whole process and so I can help out by taking his photos myself. :)

      Hi Lynji , I'm glad it helped. This is exactly why I felt like I needed to make this video. Even though I'm a senior portrait photographer, I feel like no one at that age should miss out on quality images capturing the memories of being a senior. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. By chance, did you subscribe to my channel? :)

    And what do you do when they want an 11x14 printed and framed? With a smart phone you won't even be able to see the image.

    • @358studios
      @358studios  9 месяцев назад

      Thank you for comment. I guess it’s all depending upon what kind of smart phone you’re talking about, but for the latest smartphones you would be incorrect. Resolution determines print size, and I know at least the iPhone captures at a 4032 x 3024 pixels. That is plenty to print an 11 x 14. I hope that helps. Have a great day.

    Thank you! We have 4 kids and 1 income. I’ve asked 30 people locally and $400 is the lowest package we found…..we can’t do that. We love our senior and want him to feel special with some good pictures, this video saved us! When we use professionals and can pay the money for things, we prefer to give it to people like you who care about their customers and others. Wish we lived closer, for this video alone we would use you in the future if we could!

      Hi @kellispeckman5090, I'm glad it helped. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. That's so awesome that this video was able to help you get the images you wanted for your senior. They deserve it, and money shouldn't be the deciding factor for capturing these special moments. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help. Congratulations to the graduating class. :)

    How do I make the senior photo 300 dpi? Is it a option on my iPhone or something I have to do after with editing software.

      Hi there. I believe you'll need to use editing software. At least, that is the only way I know how to do it. Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful.

    We wonder why our industry is dying
    This is why
    As a “PROFESSIONAL” why in the heck would you make a video like this. No words.
    The schools in my area let the kids submit what the want.
    I get a yearbook each year I can tell who hired a pro and who did not.
    Sad sad sad

    • @358studios
      @358studios  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi @karlweb1, I'm glad you found this engaging. Since posting this video 3 years ago, I've heard this comment twice. "Your video is killing the industry!" I'm assuming these people are photographers driven by the fear of missing out. As if somehow they are losing clients because of this video. In my opinion, nothing could be further from the truth. Let me explain why a professional would make a video like this and share some ideas to consider about my success as a senior portrait photographer.
      First, the professional senior photography business is more viable than ever, more profitable than ever, and has seen more families purchasing senior photo sessions than ever. What's your biggest challenge as a professional senior photographer? Marketing! Finding next year's clients.
      For every video comment about killing the industry, there are 10x more DM's from families, etc... thanking me and wishing they could hire me because their local person is so bad. Sounds like my marketing is working. Is it possible a family tries to take their own yearbook photos and realizes they need to hire a professional photographer? It wouldn't take much to turn these DM's into a sale or a referral.
      Second, what are most professional senior photographers? I'm talking about the ones that stick with it for more than 2-3 years. They are members of a community. I would venture to guess that most of their work comes from word-of-mouth like members of their church, members of their high schools, teachers, other parents, etc... People like working with community members who help the community, paid or not.
      The best way for a word-of-mouth photographer to fill their "paid" shoot schedule is to offer more to the community without asking for something in return. Making a video like this is a small way to show you're not all about the money, but instead, you're all about the health and well-being of the entire community. You know you can't possibly service every senior in the area, but you care that every senior in the area gets great images.
      Third, and along those same lines, not every family can afford to hire a professional photographer. I think this is very sad.
      When I was in Sacramento, every year I would shoot 15-20 seniors for free. They came from families that legitimately couldn't afford a professional session. Trust me when I say, this came back to me 10x over in word-of-mouth referrals for paid shoots.
      Everyone runs their businesses differently, but those are some thoughts on why a professional may make a video like this. I hope this helps.

    Why you would even make a video like this as a professional Photographer is absolutely beyond me. But you’re doing a great job of shooting your industry in the foot… Keep up the good work genius.

    • @358studios
      @358studios  3 года назад +15

      Haha, thanks Darrin. I explain why in the video. It's to help kids. People who hire professionals are still going to hire professionals. All of my senior portrait sessions are seniors that have already had the sit down cap and gown session. You'd think those businesses would dent the senior portrait industry more than this video. However, this video is specifically to help the kids that couldn't get booked because of the Covid overload. I personally would shoot all of them for free if I could just knowing they would have something to cherish years later. Good luck with your biz and thank you for taking the time to comment. It helps my video's rankings.
