- Follow me on my MZ as I take part in the Ride of the Ruperts (ROTR) charity motorcycle ride through Kent. The route starts in Tonbridge, stops at Headcorn aerodrome, the on to The "B-Road Hunting Club" at the Stag pub in Challock.
Great video xx
Very nice video. Thanks for taking us with you.
I am not unfamiliar with incidents like you experienced with the exhaust. On one of my first test rides my gearing lever came loose and fell off while I was riding through a town. Luckily I got it back because a construction worker managed to save it from the road and keeps it for me so that after a little rebending I could fix it on the bike again and drive home with it.
Thank you, interesting to hear you had a similar experience. Enjoy your MZ!
Lovely video Neil! Thank you for making it and reminding us of the super day we all had!
Good bike. Orthodox and easy to maintain.
Always great to see MZs outside of Germany. Beautiful one you got there. Myself I have an ETZ251. Feel like these low rev two strokes are so great to drive. One question: What is the middle gauge between rev and speedometer?
Thank you Mathias. The middle gauge is a voltmeter. Not really necessary but I just like it. Enjoy your ETZ251 !
Great video of a fantastic day! I've never heard my Enfield being ridden other than when being the rider before so the video gave me a good insight of what it's like for others. Roll on September for the big one! Thanks.
Your Enfield was the best sounding bike by far. Fantastic!
Thanks buddy, I've wondered whether it's a bit too loud sometimes.
That was a very nice tour, great video!😊
Lots of nice bikes, lots of nice British "steam hammers", very nice day!
Thank you very much!😎👍
But, I've never seen an exhaust falling off like that on an MZ (nor have I seen gear levers falling off, you have to tighten the bolts!)!🤔
Well, I think the Supa 5 is a real vintage motorbike now, don't you think?🙂😉
The exhaust I had on the bike had a removable baffle for cleaning but the end cap that secured it had worked loose. I have since replaced the silencer with one to the original design which is all welded up. My mileage is low so shouldn’t present any problems. The Ride of the Rupert’s is a great day out with some fantastic machines and yes I consider it to be a proper classic! Many thanks for your comments.
Nice weather, nice pictures, great mopeds - I probably wouldn't be able to handle left-hand traffic on my own and in an emergency, as a German, I would probably swerve to the right...
Funny to see that the right eye saw blurred at higher speeds ;-)
The exhaust does not seem to be original - it would be made of a single part, MZ only had a screw connection for the muffler ending on the 250 ETS models from the early 70s.
Glad you enjoyed the video Roland. When I ride on the continent I soon get used to driving on the right. For some reason I actually prefer it!
@@1A2Blueboy I've also noticed that it's harder for me to turn around right than left, perhaps because I can keep my foot on the brake.
Every time I hear or see a guy wearing a kilt I think of that old song . What does a man wear under his Kilt ! Awang Awang .
Enjoyed your recording of the Hop Run 2023. I also take my 1977 Supa 5 out to play with the big boys…always creates a stir! I too lost the end can from the exhaust😢were you able to source another or are you still like me riding it ‘Sputnik’ style?
What's it like to have the most interesting bike at the show? 😂 Hope you got the exhaust sorted 👍
Thanks, so many exotic bikes I like to bring the humble MZ along. A new exhaust arrived today from Germany!
How do these rides raise money? Do the riders have to pay or do you ask other people?
Btw nice bike but i prefer the smallers TSs.
A donation of a set amount is made to enter 100% of which goes to the charity. You also get to setup a just giving page to raise more on top all of which again goes to the charity as well.
