    I’m by no means an expert on your videos or certainly your craft, but this was my favorite video of yours to date. You showed various techniques and the reasons why. You showed your studio and how complex your work is. You showed the finished product. It’s not perfect in appearing how you imagined it, but showing that as the artistic process is amazing. Thanks for the video!

    A little tip i picked up from another resin crafter (can't remember who).... if you fill your molds with water when you get them, and then measure it, you can write on your mold with permanent marker how much it holds for future pours! Helps for bigger pieces. Just make sure your mold is completely dry before pouring resin.

    Very pretty. Julie I watch a lot of wood turners who use pressure pots on the regular. They run duck tape across to bottom of tray and up the sides fold the tape over on itself leaving about about 5 inches on each sides for handles to raise and lower the resin wood pour trays into the pressure pot. Or the use a bucket with a handle that fits inside your pressure pot to lower and raise resin pours. ❤❤❤

    I love watching your videos, Julie. You never disappoint. I did notice at the beginning when you were pouring the resin into the petals that the red was getting darker. I was thinking maybe if you had a darker pink rose, it would do the same thing, and the rose would appear to be more red. Just a thought. And what if instead of adding glitter to the resin, you lined the edges of the petals with uv resin and sprinkled a fine red glitter on them.

    Just an FYI. If you are going to continue to do deep pours, keep a close eye on your depth. Because you can't see what is happening, you run the risk of thermal cracking when using the pressure pot. Sprague Woodturning is an excellent reference on the subject.

    • @cricketb9665
      @cricketb9665 Год назад +2

      @@monicas310no- the moisture in the flower reacts with the resin, and it won't turn out. You'll get a nasty brown mess, that often won't cure properly! It really is necessary to be fully dry. There are great ways to dry a flower that keeps them looking good- lots of great videos!

    That last pic shows it off beautifully! I’d love to get a pressure pot. Especially for pours like this, those petals can hide a lot of bubbles. I do know for safety reasons it’s important to clamp the lid down very tightly the way Dave did. When I do get one, I’m going to be asking for my hubbies help too, I just don’t have the strength to do that properly. I recently discovered an easier way to de-mold large pieces. If you set the mold resin side down on a silicone oven pad.. ya know the kind with the waffle texture? It won’t slip and the mold can just be peeled off. Thanks for the pressure pot demo and a great project!❤

    Hi Julie, I have been watching your videos since August when I started resining. You have inspired me in so many ways. Thanks for that. I was watching your video with the rose in a silicone ball. I thought if you used a darning needle through the stem of the rose it should hold it up so the face of the rose wont touch the bottom of the mold. Anyway was just a thought and I would love it if I helped you in any way as you have helped me so much. Thanks again xx.

    Turned out really pretty despite being a bit too dark of a base. 😅
    ...Maybe you can get Dave to help you drill some holes from the bottom all the way up through the black layer and either add LED or fairy lights or just fill the holes with plain clear resin so the light from a light-up base can get through? 🤔 Using the wireless LED lights that need the special wire base to glow might work best for that (Evan & Katelyn used them with the official copper charge wire in a base for game dice but Daniel Cooper recently used one on a Rudolph pendant with a wireless phone charger which you might be able to hide in a pretty resin base too) because you can just drop them in drilled holes around the base of the rose, fill with clear (and maybe a bit more black) resin and it should light up when placed on the appropriate base. 😉👍🏼

    Have you considered using Chamelion Powder to punch up the flower before putting in the clear? Just make sure you remove loose powder as much as possible. You could tip the flowers with the powder or even with an acryllic or metallic pen, too. Just a couple of ideas I had when you demolded the piece. The black background might not have been the best idea, eh? 😆I wonder if using a silver or even a pearl shade would make things pop even more. I love watching your work, and am a beginning resin artist who also works with precious metal clays and polymer clays for making jewelry. I wish I could afford to get your molds, but I am, alas, in the United States. The shipping is killer! 🤑
