Stay away from lobsters, they might want to take a walk at night to the kitchen to give you a heart attack in the morning 😂

I can’t sing the praises of floating plants enough. We ended up impulse buying our last tank and I wanted to research plants more before making that jump, but I did buy some giant duckweed. That tank, with just hardscape and floater, started and cycled flawlessly and I was able to plant it up nicely a few weeks later. It’s still super stable and the only real maintenance is water top ups and removing excess floaters every so often.

That's awesome, I'm glad you found a path to success, floaters are like a cheat code for Aquarium's!

Thank you 🙏 I was looking into buying a bigger tank since I bought a little labeo bicolour.
I really struggled with my previous one. Which was my first one (25L). Especially with plants. Will try to follow your advice for the next set up

I find it to be a pretty common occurence, people feel like if they are just starting in this hobby they should start small, just like you would in most other hobbies. What pet shops wont tell you is that by buying a smaller "beginner" setup they almost guarantee you will be back to buy additives and medicine for that tank when your fish get sick. Bigger is easier in this hobby, just more expensive! I hope you find some success! Let me know how it works out for you.
