Christopher, could you make a vintage Barbie video at least once a week? I learn so much from them and love to listen to you talk about the Barbie world. I would watch one every day if you could make them, but I realize that is asking a little much! Anyway, thank you and thanks to Rachel too, for sharing your enthusiasm and love of dolls. I am so glad I found you on RUclips.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it all! Thanks so much! I do love the scale and I'm from the mid~century 60's and adore that era! Thanks so much for sharing your 60's boutique and Dream house. Looking forward to many more videos similar to this. WE LOVE DOLLS!😘
I'm delighted to hear that you loved everything, especially the mid-century 60's era, and your enthusiasm for dolls shines through! 😘 Thank you for your support, and there are more exciting doll-related videos to look forward to.
I loved this so much! It made my day and I am so envious. I could watch Christopher talk about Barbies all day. Love the great information!❤ enthusiasm
Love, Love, Loved this Barbie video with Christopher! He is so articulate in defining every little scene/outfit. 65+ Plus years ago, I can remember my lst Blonde Barbie in a striped bathing suit. Thank u Christopher!
I'm thrilled to hear that you loved the Barbie video with Christopher and that it brought back memories of your first Blonde Barbie from over 65 years ago. Thank you for your appreciation!
Great presentation - I learn so much about Barbie each time I watch one of your all's videos. Christopher is a wealth of info- a walking Barble, if you will. ;) That dress shop is amazing. I love that so much of it is 3-dimensional. Very beautiful set.
I'm glad to hear that you find the presentations informative, and Christopher's knowledge is truly valuable, making him a "walking Barbie." 😉 The 3-dimensional aspects of the dress shop make it even more beautiful. Thank you for your kind words!
I'm thrilled to hear that you appreciate Christopher's enthusiasm for the dolls and accessories you grew up with, and both Christopher and I are grateful for your support in sharing your passion!
Thank you Christopher and Rachel for this terrific presentation. It’s been great to be introduced to all of these 60’s sets in this video and the others you’ve done. The details are amazing and Christopher’s “geekdom” and passion for showing them is truly infectious! 😊❤

In the shop the details of the mirrors and the curtain which is in back of the front door is cool😃😃👍👍👍👍👍!!! And the closet in the shop is beautiful!! I also LOVE the pom pom shoes on the shelves, which remind me of the shoes in the Barbie Movie💖💖💖💖💖!!! ! I so LOVE the little magazines and the antique rotary telephones!!! All the furniture is just so much fun, both the plastic and the cardboard!! My favorites are: In Barbie's Bedroom I so LOVE Barbie's Suzy Goose canopy Bed with all the frilly lace💖💖💖, I so LOVE Barbie's Suzy Goose Armoire with drawers for her jewelry and purses💖💖💖; In Barbie's Living Room I so LOVE the couch🧡💛🏵🏵, lounge chair🧡💛🏵🏵 with the ottoman stool💛🧡🏵🏵!!! I also LOVE the cardboard fireplace🔥🔥 in the living room🧡💛!! And I so LOVE the Terrace with the swing and patio lounge chair🧡💛💚🏵🏵!!! And although I prefer the face mold for Barbie from the 1970s and 1980s, My favorite 1960s Barbie in this Dream House is the honey blonde swirl Barbie💖💖💖💖💖!!! Thank you Christopher for showing us your beautiful Barbie Dream House, Barbie's Fashion Shop, all the beautiful, fun furniture, and the elegant fashions on these 1960s Dolls!!! Christopher I so LOVE you "nerding" about Barbie, you make collecting Barbie a lot of fun, and you are a very fun creative teacher of everything Barbie, Ellowyne, Neema, and Grace 😃😃💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖!!!!
I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed watching Christopher showcase his Barbie Dream House and Barbie Shop, and it's wonderful to know you have a love for dollhouses and appreciate the intricate details in them. 💖🧡 Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm!
I love the Barbie dreamhouse. The kitchen is so fun!! I have the original bbq apron and chef hat with all of the little utensils that came with it. It's been fun to still have it. Thank you Rachel & Christopher for sharing it with us. It brings back wonderful memories.
Looking forward to the presentation. Was given the New Barbie Dreamhouse for Christmas 1965. Have a photo of it under the tree with my brother and our lab sitting in front. Still have a few of my original pieces and collected remainder over the past dozen years or so. Wish I had a place to keep it up all the time!! 😅
That sounds like a wonderful memory from Christmas 1965 with the New Barbie Dreamhouse! It's great that you still have some of your original pieces and have been collecting the rest over the years. It can be a challenge to find the perfect spot to display such cherished items, but it's fantastic that you've kept them close. Looking forward to having you at the presentation and sharing more delightful doll memories!
Thank you so much for sharing these lovely sets. Beautiful dolls too. Thank you Rachel and Christopher ❤ Always love to learn more about vintage Barbie. I once bought a lovely dress and was stunned by the quality of fabric. Nothing like my 80s dolls, starting with the western family. ❤❤❤ thank you!!
You're very welcome, and Rachel and Christopher appreciate your kind words. It's fascinating how the quality of vintage Barbie dresses can differ from later eras, and it's great to hear your love for learning more about vintage Barbie! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Christopher, I love when you share your knowledge and it’s a treat to see your collection. I wish Mattel Barbie would recreate that shop again in hard plastic, it’s really beautiful.❤
Wow, that was fabulous. Thank you Christopher for the time and effort it must have taken to set that whole house up for us to enjoy. It truly was over the top wonderful to see everything. This channel is just delightful.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and Christopher appreciates your appreciation for the effort in setting up the Barbie Dream House for everyone to enjoy. Delightful feedback like yours is truly wonderful!
Yes Christopher- I would love to see more Barbie houses/rooms. Sadly, I no longer own any of these pieces due to my evil 5 year old self but it’s so much fun looking at yours. The nostalgia is wonderful.
Excellent! Yes I love the cardboard structures! 😂👍🏻... whiled away many an hour in childhood with my little cardboard towns 👌🏼😂... Brilliant presentation, love it ❤🥂
I'm glad you share a fondness for cardboard structures and the nostalgia of creating little cardboard towns in childhood, and I appreciate your kind words about the presentation. ❤️🥂😊
Thank you Christopher for this wonderful presentation. Love this house and shop. Hmm thinking that Grace and Ellowyne need some furniture and a place to shop. How fun would that be.
marcymahle, That is a really good idea to have a house and shop for Grace and Ellowyne and I will add Neema😃😃😃💯💯💯💯💯!!! That would be a lot of fun indeed😃😃😃👍👍👍!!!
Thank you so much for the video, Christopher and Rachel, and tour...that dream house is just amazing! The sliding patio door and accordion shutters between the kitchen and living room are my favourite things. We had the Suzy Goose armoire and low storage chest...I turned the armoire on its back and used it for a stable for my Breyer Stablemates sometimes. I wonder if anyone had tried to re-create this house or the fashion store in sturdier materials?
You're very welcome, and it's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the video and have fond memories of the Suzy Goose armoire and low storage chest. Re-creating the house and fashion store in sturdier materials would be an interesting project for sure!
Always fun to find new things that you want to buy one day or find at that lucky for you yard sale. I have a few of these things, that I lucked up on. However, this fashion store is just too wonderful not to have one day. Thank you both for sharing and continuing to teach us about Barbie.
It's indeed exciting to discover new items for your collection and hope to find them someday, and I'm glad you found the fashion store wonderful, appreciating the shared knowledge about Barbie. Thank you for your enthusiasm!
Thanks Christopher , for setting up and sharing these wonderful Barbie spaces.i had the original Barbie house as a little girl. I remember all the prints on the cardboard furniture and walls! And I had a few of the dolls you are showing and many others too. I remember the Barbie that came with the different wigs. It brings back so many memories for me watching this! You always do such an amazing job, in telling the details .
You're very welcome, and I'm delighted to hear that the Barbie spaces and dolls have brought back cherished memories from your childhood. Thank you for your kind words, and I'm glad you enjoy the attention to detail in the presentations!
I love how enthusiastic Christopher is, he never said "umm" which made him very interesting to listen to. Thank you to him for his knowledge. I had never seen any of those Barbie rooms. I don't plan to collect any of them, but I absolutely love learning about the early pieces. I grew up in the 60's with endless Barbies. I now prefer the MTM bodies.
Oh dear I am a sociopath as well as I love orange and pink together! 🧡💗 LOL Oh I love that the patio door slides into the wall!!! You have a "Barble" I love it! Wow amazing the accordion doors are still intact! Oh I had the Fun n Games dress as a child! It was one of my favs!!! It makes my heart happy to see it here!! What a fabulous collection Christopher!!! This was a lot of work to bring to Rachel's and set up, the work is greatly appreciated!!! As always Christopher, your attention to deal is marvelous!! I would love to see any other Dream House, Dream Rooms, and Barbies, etc you have!!!! Thank you Rachel for hosting!! 💖
Thank you so much for your fun and enthusiastic response! We appreciate your love for orange and pink together and your excitement about the doll collection and the details in our videos. Your appreciation makes all the effort worthwhile. We'll keep sharing more about our doll collection, Dream House, Dream Rooms, Barbies, and more in the future. Thanks for being a part of our doll community and for your kind words! 💖😊
My sister had all of these houses/play sets, along with all the Little Chap family sets. So many fun memories. Hers were destroyed in a fire. I got rid of my 60’s-70’s Barbies when we down sized, about 5years ago. Major regret. Now in retirement I’m making Barbie furniture, and rebuilding my Barbie family.
Please do more Barbie cardboard playset videos! I recently acquired Barbie Goes to College (incomplete) and would totally swap it for the dreamhouse you just showed in this video ;) if you ever want to trade! 😅 And I have never even heard of Skipper's dream room... Time to consult my Barbles! You guys are an inspiration and Christopher appears to be living his best life working at the shop. If I ever find myself in Denver I will definitely be stopping by to appreciate all the hard work you guys put into this shop! God bless!
I can remember when I was a young child, the little girl next door had these barbie house sets displayed in the dining room: I never forgotten what it looked like. I can also remember my Godmother giving me my first barbie bubble cut with clothes and the black case: I didn't think she was pretty back then but I loved the clothes and the case ❤
Thank you for sharing such wonderful memories! It's amazing how dolls can create lasting impressions and special moments. The nostalgia and joy they bring are truly priceless. ❤
I love the 1964 line. I have an original retailer catalog from 1964, it’s one of only a handful of original catalogs from the 60s that I have, I have more from the 70s-90s. I’m mad about Swirls, probably my favorite vintage Barbie look, actually. I also love the 'activity' fashions from this era, all the skiing and skating and whatnot. I've never been as much of a fan of the formal and bridal stuff. Suits like Saturday Matinee though? Love. We really need a repro of that and of other fashions from 1966 like Shimmering Magic and Music Center Matinee. Not sure why we haven't gotten those. I love the Fashion Shop, I have two sets, neither of which is as pristine as the example Christopher is showing, unfortunately. I really wish Mattel would do a repro of this set, I’d love a clean, bright one. I’ve also toyed with the idea (pun intended) of creating a more detailed version of this structure, with four walls and a ceiling, more dimensionality to the millwork and moldings, and more realistic detailing on the furnishings. If I had a laser cutter, I probably would have already done something like that, lol. I'd also like to do a version of the Fashion Shop with Mod styling, and another with Biba styling for my early 70s gals (the 70s are my collecting focus more so than the 60s, though of course I love the 60s). I’ve never owned the New Dream House, but I’ve always wanted one. That’s another set where what I probably really want to do is make a more detailed and complete version of it from sturdier materials, with a Dream Kitchen & Dinette incorporated, of course. I probably would turn the little kitchenette area of this Dream House into a wet bar, and then have the dining room and kitchenette extend to the right of the living room area. And clearly there should be a formal Go-Together dining room to bridge the two.
It sounds like you have an amazing collection and a deep passion for vintage Barbies, especially from the 1960s and 70s! Your original retailer catalog from 1964 must be a real treasure. It's great to hear how much you enjoy the Swirls and the 'activity' fashions. Those era-specific styles really capture the spirit of their time. Thank you for all your comments and tuning in! We appreciate ya!
Why would they be talking about how they couldn't stand Midge? I have a Midge that looks maybe black? Did they make Midge with darker skin? Brown eyes and auburn hair? I think the one I bought is the same as I had as a kid. Is it Midge by the TV without the Mattel slides. Didn't the bands come on the Barbie's heads to keep the bangs in place?
Christopher, could you make a vintage Barbie video at least once a week? I learn so much from them and love to listen to you talk about the Barbie world. I would watch one every day if you could make them, but I realize that is asking a little much! Anyway, thank you and thanks to Rachel too, for sharing your enthusiasm and love of dolls. I was not aware of the sliding door..interesting. thank you for sharing. Christopher is always of great inspiration

Brilliant! You have gorgeous example of the salon, Christopher. I was very impressed. Sometimes I think this was the Golden Age of collectible dolls.

What a fantastic collection! I’m so jealous. I keep praying that Mattel will give us repros of the Fashion Shop and the New Dreamhouse.
I hope so, too!
I really enjoyed this!

I want to get the Fashion shop. It looks so cool.
I just saw the little theater at a thrift shop for 250$. It killed me to leave it.

I think the one I bought is the same as I had as a kid. Is it Midge by the TV without the Mattel slides. Didn't the bands come on the Barbie's heads to keep the bangs in place?
The bit about Midge was a cheeky joke.
